Mattari Camp is a completely different manga about a girl who goes camping with by cycling, the locations just happen to overlap with Yuru Camp. It's all a big coincidence, emphasized by them showing that the yurus exist in the same universe with the monos.

I didn't like this episode, it was a lot of "look just like in Yuru Camp!" which I also like but that isn't the reason I liked this series. I just want cute girls fucking around and doing stupid shit with cameras.

It's not a reference when it's an entire episode screaming "HEY REMEMBER THESE BELOVED CHARACTERS AND PLACES FROM THAT OTHER SERIES WE MADE? PRETTY COOL HUH?" especially this early in. It just feels disingenuous, throwing in a single yuru camp character in the background every other episode or so would've been a much better and less distracting way of doing it.

The OST is pretty good too. Surprisingly, this show has pretty good production values for something that's considered second place to Yuru Camp.

I'm not a fan of this episode. I don't mind the cameos, because they were pretty non-intrusive, but in tone and direction, it feels more in line with Yuru Camp than with the first two episodes of Mono. I love Yuru Camp, but I don't want this series to become it. I want it to have its own personality. Also, I'm pretty disappointed by how little they are capitalizing on the photography club angle. I've been re-reading Kimi wa Hōkago Insomnia, and despite photography not being the main focus of the manga, the author does a fantastic job explaining the different intricacies of using a camera and what’s needed to take a good shot. Considering how autistic Yuru Camp was about these kinds of details, I thought it was a given that Mono would be too, but so far that’s not the case.
