Thanks for confirming you have no idea what you're talking about. The Grandfleet are their own thing and move and fight on behalf of Luffy, even if Luffy doesn't want underlings. Those otther groups will be allied pirate crews and factions. Momonosuke is more likely to lead whichever converted Beast Pirates who follow Yamato, since the main goal Yamato had was helping Momonosuke by providing Wano with people who can protect it so Luffy won't have to worry. That still hasn't changed. The only question is still what Yamato plans to do when her pilgrimage is complete and all signs still point to going out to see, if the trend of her getting followers under her continues.

G-8 is more or less the only consensus do not skip filler arc in one piece. in fact given its nature as a well written one piece arc that doesn't suffer from catastrophic toei pacing i wouldn't argue with calling it the peak of the anime.

the rest of the filler though is more or less detritus imo. some anons may argue with me on that but it's mostly because of filler-only waifus that they get autistically attached to. not that i can blame them.

my issue with one pace is that it doesn't really do a lot to excise the stilted awkwardness that comes as a result of toei's pacing. all the dialogue and action scenes are so stretched out that it becomes difficult to cut around without the end product feeling weirdly disjointed. i just ate shit and watched the original anime with my finger on the skip button as needed, and i think that's the better route overall.

for my money the main thing that the anime has over the manga is the voice acting. the one piece voice cast is just all absolutely top notch. everyone is a perfect fit for their roles, and it adds a lot to the experience.

skypeia is definitely the worst slog pre timeskip, and is where i dropped out the first time. i had my mind blown reading the manga version and realizing that it was easily one of the best arcs of the entire story. post timeskip things get really bad around dressrosa and simply do not recover after that.

anyways enough reddit-spaced blogposting or what have you, do what you want anon but dont be afraid to jump ship at any point to the manga and tune in to the anime for the occasional heartfelt moment or sick fight scene.
