The show is really well made but Frieren the character really carries it imo. She's so well rounded and the writer did a really good job at making an op ageless magical elf be relatable and empathetic to pretty much anyone. I don't think she was an easy character to get right on paper.

Frieren is about being old. Without actually being old really because the protagonist has to be young, sexy, dorky female because without it weebs would not watch it. Frieren is about having knowledge and experience. Without actually showing any expertise except using cgi circles to hurl magic beams and using plot armor in moments when magic death ray cannot be used. And Frieren is anime about accepting change. Without actually changing anything because nobody cared about the side characters anyway and we are going to keep the protagonists as they are, except they sometime say some very generic and shallow philosophical statement that anybody above age of 30 can't take seriously.

Frieren is show for children who want to feel mature. And if you are not a child... jesus, grow up.
