Great anime. Fantastic writing with good animation (aside from the Trigger episode), and some of the best background art in recent years. It's weakened by only being a partial adaptation of an ongoing mystery manga so it feels more incomplete than usual. Source material is much better anyway.

Interesting plot, at least so far, some touching moments, and it's also one of the very few anime that have genuinely disturbing and suspenseful scenes in my book

It was a pretty great sleeper show. Twist with Kiruko's mentor was pretty dark though.

I had to put watching it on hold because I got really busy at the time it was coming out, but episodes 1-5 were really good. Plot was great and the animation was beautiful. Probably the only teotwaki themed anime setting besides Yokohama that I've seen where the setting actually felt alive. I'm gonna get around to finishing it sometime this summer.
