Meanwhile, Taki is fully aware of everyone's feelings and so wants to give it a shot with Umiri because she wants to see where it goes. Umiri doesn't want to be a rebound and is anxious of losing what they have. Taki wheedles her into trusting her to give it a fair shake and to not use her. Fade to black and the scene returns to heavy but hopeful feelings and spooning. There are tears and intermittently raised voices throughout the entire scenario.

I have another mental storyboard where Umiri realizes that she is not finding that genuine human connection she longs for with the members of Ave Mujica, and that sends her into a deep depression. She skips band and school, and Hatsune reaches out to Taki who is equally perplexed and concerned. Taki goes to look for her at her apartment when she doesn't give satisfactory answers by text. She finds a dark, dank apartment, messy with the CalorieMate wrappers of someone who clearly has not left for quite some time. Umiri is huddled in her covers, and Taki sits down by the bed on the floor and they just talk for a while. As part of this conversation, Taki apologizes for triggering the initial change but not really being around to help. There are lots of pregnant pauses throughout. Eventually, Umiri just breaks down in quiet sobs, and Taki goes to cuddle her through the covers until she cries herself to sleep. When Umiri wakes, she finds herself alone with a yakisoba bento from the combini on the table with the note "Eat this when you wake up." They never see each other's faces throughout the entire encounter.
None of this will ever see the light of day because I do not trust my prose to not be a horrendous shade of purple for more heavy scenarios like these.

If drawing attention away from HatsuSaki was some kind of corporate request, because of the incest bit (notice how you went from "Bandori is not yuri" to "he had not deny incest") then the whole thing wouldn't have fallen on Kakimoto alone, but one everyone else. And yet, Kakimoto has been the only one who went out of his way to deny that Hatsune's feelings were romantic, even though the franchise has been pushing HatsuSaki even harder ever since.
So, if the problem is the yuri angle, then there was no pressing reason to outright deny it. And, if the issue wasn't the yuri but the incest bit, then Bushiroad has been doing a terrible job at doing away with HatsuSaki, since they've actually been showcasing it even further.
So, my final point is(and whole point this whole time, actually) that, maybe, just maybe, Kakimoto can been a bit of an idiot and has dropped the ball not only once but a few times now during interviews. So, yes, people are justified in not fully trusting what he says. That's all I've been trying to say.
