kiyoshit

let it go bro

Anon Babble is going ballistic for me the catalog froze for a solid 10 minutes or something.

Those who are curious about 2.5D seduction(vol 23 was just released, it opened up around 9k though)

I've been posting fine. Im more surprised you guys decided to stop making a general on a leak day

Wow saito put the Nue cp in second for once.

I enjoy reading it week to week but idk what Jump sees in it. It's not doing crazy numbers digitally, it's a borderline flop physically so what are they waiting for? I don't believe it's just Oda's assistant protection or anything, Oda has already had assistants run in jump and he axed before so I doubt that means anything.

It only happened to me a little bit ago, but regardless leaks were mega late today so it's not surprising it took a while.

How is it? I was interested in reading it, but I honestly hate harem and love triangles. Also, iirc it's from the author that wrote Noa notes?

Any update on kuutei dragons, shosekianon?

Shoseki Top 500 (May 7)

1. Blue Box #20
3. Kagurabachi #7
10. The Elusive Samurai #20
31. Astro Royale #5
42. Me & Roboco #22
47. Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi #3
65. Super Psychic Policeman Chojo #5

It's a combo of Oda rec, both mangaka and editor being associated with Oda, WSJ having battle manga crisis and WSJ having no battle series for younger audience.

kagurabachi this low

Uh oh

WSJ doesn't have the freedom to mindlessly axe series anymore

They just axe another series that sold more than it.

Think that one sold pretty nice that if I wanted it to be more accurate I had to dig deep into Oricon and Im kinda lazy atm. I did make my own interpolation model for ranking above 30 but i'm not available atm.

Was it Astro? Because that would precisely be the opposite of mindlessly axing

Nah they both deserve it.

They've done plenty of U19s recently and will probably hit 2 series soon so I doubt there's any truth in that

AXEBERS

What I mean is that they can't just axe whatever they don't like now, but have to carefully think about it.

There's a high chance the next one replacing it will do even worse (Beethoven and Embers being the current examples)

Saito has been doing way worse than Nakano with Ichi being his only real hit under his belt

Let it go

Not until THE TRIGGER anime airs.

with Ichi being his only real hit under his belt

And he's shilling it like fucking crazy too.

To be fair, he took over when the mess was already plenty in motion

I don't love mentioning them but I do wonder why people on MH are seething so much about Nue and KB not giving anniversary covers neither are pillars and were this era any more competitive something like KB wouldn't even exist it's performance is an anomaly rivalled only by Kiyoshi imo. It's literally declining volume on volume so I assume it's only alive because there's just so much worse performing series in the magazine. A new age Yozakura if there ever was one.

It's not like Nice Prison is doing much better either.
Kawaguchi may or may not fail as well

For my next update I may try to scrape the Oricon number from the mangahelper link that was sent here yesterday

At least half the mag is such garbage, do they really not have anything lined up so they can't axe anything?

Nice Prison got TV advertisement

file.png - 859x542, 1.19M

didnt they already get on year one?

Not getting* I meant, too tired to be poasting right now.

I know one of you faggots has an account there
Someone tell that nuefag that Sakamoto Days has only had ONE cover in 2025 for issue 14. It didn't get the cover for the anime premiere, it only had the LCP for Issue 6-7. It didn't even get the cover for Jump Giga's Winter issue even though the timing would've been perfect. I don't even read Sakamoto, I'm just annoyed but that nuefag's retardation

I honestly don't know why authors try at WSJ. I get it's the most famous magazine, but they are too trigger happy for no reason. Like they axed series with a decent fanbase and replaced than with failures

Sakamoto gets cover for no reason again

This time it gets priority over an anniversary of another title

Why is the editorial shilling Sakamoto so desesperately? Kagurabachi does better and Ichi is on its way to do better

Shut up shonen salto.

Honestly, veteran "hits" shouldn't be counted. so, nakano still much better, Because at least he left KGB behind before he left.

Mine got banned after kgb won tsugimanga.
you know why..

know your place

It’s clear they’re both getting animes so no reason to not get a cover for 1 time of the year.
Salto is a akanefag.

Sakamoto author is as wasted as Hokazono which made the shilling go weaker. The strange thing is Sakamoto getting so much stuff now that the anime is over and not when the anime was airing

Shonen Salto is an Akanefag though. He was seething that Nico got the group cover instead of Akane

They did, but Kill Blue, Chojo, and Nue were all given color pages to celebrate their anniversaries not LCP + Cover so their shill days are over from the looks of it. KB went from an early second cover to this so idk what Jump thinks about it.

Sakamoto bigger than Blue Box

Blue Box sells better

Blue Box has better backlogs

Blue Box anime was more succesful

Blue Box gets constantly 1st in ToCs

I am starting to agree with this Sakamoto pushing agenda other anons are complaining

Salto is a akanefag.

if he is, then he's been holding back because akane's only cover for 2025 so far was for the anniversary

Then i dont see the need to complain lol. Yearly anniversary LCP is reserved for flagship titles

why do people care so much about a dead forum

Sakamoto second place

With that failure of an anime

With Blue Box doing better

With fucking KGB doing better

Sakamoto is never going to be the top dog Jump is hoping it to be

Who tf is that. I don't hate Nue or KB I just don't see why they're so deserving of massive amounts of shilling or anything they perform decently well not massive future successes. Nue at least has some shot of making it big with an anime imo but it's "growth" flatlined 8 volumes ago sales wise. KB actively declined to the point where it's doing Cipher Aca numbers when they cut that series down for a year ago for poor performance.

Because that poster has a account there but he’s too much of a bitch to reply to them so he mentions them here.

i was only checking for toc and am waiting for cover/color pages
sometimes fags here are so concerned with consolewarring they don't even post color pages, and then there's the fake tocs
but my retarded eyes wandered and read their words
damn my ability to read!

I don't care that much I just think it's that specifically was an interesting perspective. I do try not to bring them up actively in these threads because most of them don't post here and it has enough names schizos as is.

I mean what it's competing with kagurabachi, sakamoto days and ichi maybe?
Jump's current roster is a far cry from what it was pre 2020.
Does any manga besides OP even reach 100k in sales?

I just realize

No one's getting axed this time? Weird

Kagurabachi, Sakamoto Days, and BB all do 100k FM.

they're keeping us in suspense

Axe round already happened like 3 weeks ago.

Kagurabachi and BB do 150k. The shilled one is the one stuck in 100k

Ichi is on 80k and rising

I was surprised too. Thought for sure Syd was going down under.

only 2 series in the magazine have a proper 100k fw under their belt

You'd think someone is leaking Kawaguchi's new manga in hopes of seeing a new muscle mommy

1. Otel is shit, and it gets axed

2. Otel is shit and it sells decently

3. Otel is shit but is successful

4. Otel is good but it doesnt sell well.

5. Otel is good and successful

I hope Otel is number 5. I dont want to support a literal who manga.

i hope my experience with otel is number 5*

Anon, it's using Hakutaku's spot from months ago

Muscle woman

Puke

Roboco is on the chopping now that the movie flopped

Bring in Chanta

Ichi is on 80k

75K anon.

I wonder what the fw will be for this 3 day
I'm assuming around 70k? It's always hard with 3 days

CSM and DDD both did 60k so...

KGB vol 4 did 60k fw for a 3 day, and it's grown a fuckton since then, id hope it does more than 60k

To be honest what is Jump thinking airing Roboco alongside with Sunday's gigatitan.

What if it's muscle daddy? The preview said nothing about a female character

So a bunch of Endeavors?

Eh, works too

hoping on the gigatitan's popularity

3 days are harsh.
But it tends to be frontloaded so 75k should be viable (even if it did 80k in 6 days for vol 5).

This is what Roboco up against with.

ENDGACK.jpg - 1280x1659, 300.2K

It's honestly kind of crazy how desperate they are to make this a thing when it isn't. Imagine being outsold by Astro when Jump gave up on that one after 10 chapters.

alright here is the best result i can come up without dipping into Oricon. it took quite a while because i had to scrape until back in 2016 and it was quite huge back in the day.

Volume 1: 49,228 copies
Volume 2: 48,496 copies
Volume 3: 50,320 copies
Volume 4: 57,931 copies
Volume 5: 55,267 copies
Volume 6: 63,327 copies
Volume 7: 57,971 copies
Volume 8: 68,286 copies

Volume 12: 50,443 copies
Volume 13: 47,686 copies
Volume 14: 43,948 copies
Volume 15: 42,813 copies
Volume 16: 34,559 copies
Volume 17: 37,651 copies
Volume 18: 34,097 copies
Volume 19: 32,156 copies

Imagine being outsold by Astro

You find it hard to believe a manga by a popular author would outsold one by new author?

It still did far worse than mediocre though. Not crossing atleast a million on your first week is a sight to behold.

Not to run on your parade or offend you, but I ended up hating kuutei dragons. Such a good artstyle wasted on a terrible writing

okay, it got outsold by the manga that was hated by literal everyone exists including the fan of the author then

But seriously, Jump needs another round of poaching ASAP

S O L I D

?

I guess we'll see, it's digital definitely blew up though, so I wish we could see the numbers on that
Maybe if we get a random circulation update

It'll get one in a month and a half for its next volume.
So something like 2.6-2.7 million tops since it does close to 100k in digital for a new volume considering its circulation.

poaching

They should get akabane honeko guy from magazine. The one that draws like horikoshi

WSJ needed to let his semi successful series end decently before it flooding the magazine with flops

Is the fujo formula getting stale?

It's gotta be more than that to prep for the anime announcement in June though

If anything there will be less poaching after Astro.

I'm just happy they stopped doing the retarded monthly reprints

sadly i can't do it haha, I keep getting blocked by the host despite delaying and using some other logic (idk i'm not a programmer)

Illiterate retard.

I genuinely dont understand why it didnt do well in magazine. It had everything you'd think a successful manga would do.

why it didnt do well in magazine.

Was it a shameless harem slop?

Wasn't it haremshit?

the only successful romcoms in wsm are the degenerate ones with tons of fanservice and/or harems

It's an action manga very akin to hero academia and chapter 1 had a cool twist

Mayonaka Heart Tune is a harem, but it isn't over-the-top horny like the rest and is still doing okay-ish by Magazine's low standards

WW is truly a great opening. I'm enjoying the anime so much I might start the manga once the first season finishes

If it's not harem I might start reading it

very akin to hero academia

This isn't a positive

God I need that WW full opening right now. The one YOASOBI song I really like and it's the one without a full version

Sakamoto does better than both BB and Kgb in digital, so it explain why it’s 2nd in jump

That's exactly why it didn't survive in Weekly HaremSlop Magazine.

Still Nisekoi because of this.

rotate.mp4 - 852x480, 714.12K

It didn't do better than BB digitally last volume, and KGB is destroying BB digitally this volume

Waiting for leaks of subpar manga for japanese school children? What's the hurry, why not wait like everybody else?

It got a shitload of CPs though and evidently inflated TOC rating.

That CSM part 1 flop costs Jump so much.

We're talking about akane, not ichi.

ranking better than kagurabachi and sakamoto is normal I swear

Akane ranks better than kagurabachi, yes.

It's not looking good for Kawaguchi

kgb fujoshit is mad

Nothing new

Don't pretend everyone consumes garbage like yourself. Even if I did, who gives this much of a shit for sales and ratings of trash that's made for school children?

why

It's looking too good for Kagyattrabachi

I'm pretty sure they are trying to keep Kagurabachi's average rank 8, if you go from when Saito took over to now it's overall average is like 7.5

No muscle girls, apparently

why not

Even if I did

You do, fag. Don't pretend. It's either shonenshit or moeshit. You consume just as much slop as i do.

Black clover fag*

Not to start a fight with the Nue's Exorcist fans here while they're down but... what did you expect? The series has been telegraphed - and we've all been in agreement for weeks/months now - that it's in the same camp as Kill Blue and Super Psychic Policeman Chojo, all a notch above the three new flops. Add in that they've all just passed their anniversaries of those three and it's been a pretty similar treatment for them all. Sure, it can be disappointing but it's not a shock. Kill Blue has had a decent rebound in the TOC and so has Nue, but they're still in that space of low-priority low-mid performers in the magazine that aren't newbies anymore and don't have anime adaptations so they're just existing until they either get them, get outperformed and pushed out, or reach a natural ending.

In saying that, my want for a 4 series round has me hoping we're getting a Super Psychic Policeman Chojo, Syd Craft: Love is a Mystery, Embers, and Star of Beethoven cancellation on/by #30 since those seem like the obvious candidates and I need Saito to be doing something (except continually awarding my favourites at the top of the TOC... oops).

I don't necessarily buy that Sakamoto Days is getting treated better than it has in recent years. I mean, its TOC average ranking is lower than it has been in 2024, 2023, and even 2022. It's simply just got a split cour anime right now, it's still one of the top sellers of the magazine, and it and Blue Box are the pillars of the magazine/covers right now after One Piece. Come 2026 both those series will probably be dethroned in those positions by Kagurabachi and Ichi the Witch so this is the last year of the SD at the top of their interest.

Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi a little lower and likely to get the colour page at the back of the magazine next week (which would be 4/5 times so far this year). The push is there but all I'll say is... I'm looking and

Where is raw of Kawaguchi's new manga?

9 million copies with 21 volumes. Even on a per volume basis it does better than Blue Box and Kagurabachi, and while Kagurabachi will overtake it with time, but as of now, it is their #2 series next to One Piece. It is not overpushed, to insinuate that it’s “overpushed” like Toriko when there’s literally nothing aside from OP that’s more popular than it aside from maybe Kagurabachi, but Hokazono is kinda dying atm (RIP 6 months without KGB is pain), so pushing Sakamoto it is.

You guys are acting like Nakano was some angel to underperformers anyways, Yozakura didn’t even get an anime cover lol. You know what got the cover instead? Akane. He literally axed P6, a series which sold better than Nue. And frankly Kill Blue and Nue have had awful second years in the TOC, like if you look at their Jajanken graphs, the drop is dire. They got first anniversary covers under Nakano because ranking wise, they had good first years, even putting aside Nue’s dip (where it mostly hugged bottom 5, still better than its 70-90 rankings). Just like how a few bad rankings didn’t kill its first anniversary covers, a few ok rankings won’t salvage its second anniversary cover. Shame since letting series run for 2+ years and not actually promote is a crappy editorial decision, but it’s been on the wall for a bit now, that Jump doesn’t want to play with Nue, now they want Ultimate 11K seller Kiyoshi lol.

Yeah, Sakamoto>BB>Kgb is literally the real order

The actual real order is BB>Kgb>Sakamoto if we stick to their perfomances in 2025. Kagurabachi is already destroying Sakamoto without anime

I DO want to point out that both Kill Blue AND Chojo got considerably better anniversary projects than... Whatever this shit is. And I don't think I'm crazy when I say Nue should have gotten at least a more equal treatment.

I also don't think I'm crazy when I say it should have gotten a cover in the first place for multiple reasons I've already listed to death.

I'll stop here and patiently wait for the color page to be out (although I will probably have to wait for sunday, as Samu said) cause the more I think about this the more it pisses me off.

Sakaday is just more profitable with merch and digital, give up it’s 2nd in WSJ, with only OP above.

that's what I would rather say about Rock a Rock and Isekai Wagies

Thanks

People have been saying for ages that these threads are run by a small number of console warrior who could probably be counted on one hand. If they were somehow Thanos'd from existence, these threads wouldn't even be daily.

Any leaks of the new Kawaguchi series?

The funny thing is that these threads are so hypocritical. If you try talking about any series that isn't KGB/Nue/Ichi/Kiyoshi/whatever the warrior's target of the day is, anons will attack you. But if you discuss those series, especially if it's in a flamewarring light, suddenly it's celebrated and even encouraged. It's like you aren't even interested in discussing Jump, you just want to consolewar.

I'm fairly certain this was planned from the start, there was hints of meta stuff pretty early on

Mold
Gold

We need Red Hood Storytime to celebrate the return of the legend

jumptards disappeared the moment KwaGODchi's drop his magnum opus

Yep, it will survived.

Wait
This one is cooking manga?

KGB and Otel alliance commence!!

Gransazers (the toku)

Most people on Anon Babble haven't watched this or even know about it. Goseiger or Zyuranger would've been a more understandable example

Oteru (the shota) is a cook that inherits the Viking flame or something

No shit retard, you really thought these threads exist to discuss Jump the magazine?

It's native isekai with cooking mechanic that gives you unique buff effects

Kanan gets an anime HaremSlop

Setoana gets an anime ecchi 4koma

Mayotuna gets an anime HaremSlop

Yowasen gets an anime ecchi Slop

Will every Ecchi/ harem from WSM get an anime? Is Yumene Connect next?

Literally nobody mention Nue outside the Ratschizo lmao

Monster Hunter

Sounds fun if true

They really should.

I don't see how that disproves my point.

Nice Prison and Otel will LIVE

Why is nothing getting axed yet?

native isekai is the cultivation of japan

Hehehe i'am the worst EIC of weekly shonen jump.

So regular fantasy?

Has Embers always been ranking last place since the their real ToC is out?

Just like Cultivation where you need to understand thousands of years of Chinese world building from Water Margin to more modern depictions, you need to be familiar with Japanese RPGs and tropes they took from Western fantasy to understand Native Isekai
Regular fantasy bothers with worldbuilding. Native isekai doesn't and just assumes you're familiar with whatever Dragon Quest game they use.

people actually try to talk about the state of the magazine or talk about non-bait series

get ignored

people post bait and engage in flame wars

multiple responses and active "discussion"

What is wrong with you people?

ANTIKAWAGUCHI BTFO

people are talking about Kawaguchi

*anon showed up*

why wah wah

cry

And so the trolling by fake fans start

staying in the hamlet for 7 chapters

Cooking zombie?

Water Margin isn't a cultivation story, you fucking shitposter. As for stats and shit just call them LitRPGs, the concept of using game mechanics in universe within a fantasy setting isn't even unique to Japan or video games, the very first instance was a 1980's russian D&D story about a group of people getting trapped within the world of a D&D campaign and having to fight against the Game Master for a chance of escape.

Hell, the concept of Generic Evil Lord guy isn't a video game thing it's just a generic fantasy trope, DQ is literally just a regular fantasy series so the very concept of "native isekai" as you're trying to put it is retarded and multiple fronts anyway beyond the obvious.

lmao even they are giving up on Embers

Almost. The only time it wasn't dead last it was when Astro got axed

U19 part 2..

Cooking FOR zombie

The only way to exorcist them is by feeding them actually food

Somehow, Hima-ten has completely entered the stable line.

it's the gachafag mentality, you can only talk about shitpost targets or sales

Overly defensive Anon Babblefags like this are hilarious. Native isekai is great for describing fantasy with lazy ass worldbuilding where authors seem to rely purely video game experience for inspiration instead of their own folklore and imagination. Fantasy is in a sorry state where the new writers only grew up on dragon quest or whatever RPG they played and we're seeing it in Jump with how unimaginative Mamayuyu and Kawaguchi's new series are. Ichi would get some credit but at the end of it all, it's basically pokemon/digimon with aesthetics that are a schizo mashup of cultures from entirely different continents.

LitRPGs

Fuck off back to plebbit.

Kinda hyped by Red Cook now.
You just had to add a MC that can fight

instead of their own folklore and imagination

Because when they did this you will just called it supernatural instead.

No females on the cover

Who the fuck is this? That ain't Kawaguchi

NTA but no?
Firce Force, Gachiakuta, One Piece, D Gray Man are all proper fantasy

pokemon and digimon + fantasy is rare, motherfucker. good for nishi to notice it.

and its also adventure series first. its rarer in jump. i thought after lost to world majik, ichi will had academic arc (plus training and tournament art) but nope. keep visit new place.

fire force??? with that urban setting. yeah no.. imagine that FIRE is force. and yet the world didnt become steampunk or straight up FIREPUNK like gachiakuta, i agree. when your power system have theme around trash, make the world TRASHPUNK (or opposite vice versa)

All those are closer to steampunk than fantasy

What's that? It looks very cool

It has no appeal whatsoever.
Blue Lock actually has stakes, interesting plot line and cute boys.

Westerners have dogshit tastes.

Did Kawaguchi see one too many 『 malevolent kitchen 』 meme.

God I forgot how much of a sore loser Kawaguchi was for a U19 series.

ronin girl and raijin boy

Native Isekai is just a term for series you don't like and nothing more. Mamayuyu was just a fantasy series that took the idea of chosen Hero and Demon Lord and tried to make a battle manga power system out of it that's it, there is literally nothing else derived from video games beyond the initial premise.

Ichi is also just regular fantasy but in order to discredit it you have to reference multiple series all of which have literally nothing in common with Ichi other than having a monster partner. >schizo mashup
This has been a staple of western fantasy FOR YEARS. The most bog standard fantasy setting, The Forgotten Realms has multiple fictional countries that act as analogs for real world cultures or a mismashing of them.

Native Isekai is a stupid shitposter term and I am sick and tired of retards parroting the phrase.

Forgive my stupidity, but I still don't seem to able to find the series

I don't know I think this shit is actual garbage. Literally just a generic sports anime but with art that can't even carry it. Beethoven at least had something new.

Not really interesting, even with the somewhat original premise of the MC playing defense

What a retarded fucking take. Just all around stupid.

One Piece

steampunk

lmao what

both are ass lol

Less stinky shit is still shit.

Thanks a lot!

Not only that, but Steampunk is a subgenre of fantasy and a common fantasy setting as well. He's fucking retarded.

or you are the braindead one.

Native isekai is a term to differentiate between actual fantasy with worldbuilding and lazy ass "fantasy" by hacks.
If you sat down and read OP from the start you'd understand the world without reading anything outside of it.
Imagine reading Frieren blind as a kid. If you've never played any JRPG whatsoever you're fucked. The manga doesn't even care explaining why stuff like different races, dungeons, demon continent, magic academy are there. It's just fucking there.

All in all, we're all agreed that native isekai is a real genre as much as nuerats are.

Only the 1st chapter was good.

Native isekai is a term [used to describe series I don't like]

Yup yup. As for the last point, most fantasy stories don't bother explaining why a lot of things are the way they are unless its actually important to the plot, the very same criticism you're making of Fieren applies to classic western fantasy stories like Lord of the Rings and The Wheel of Time series. You are literally complaining about authors not being austistic and going on Baki style segways to explain the history and origins of every aspect of their world like some retard from tvtropes.

Nuerats? Lost.
Bcucks? Lost even harder.

GRR Martin was a mistake.

What caused this much mental illness to keep mentioning a manga that is far by less popular than the manga they're pitting it against? Nue didn't stand a chance during KGB's early phase, even less so nowadays

riticism you're making of Fieren applies to classic western fantasy stories like Lord of the Rings and The Wheel of Time series

NTA, but you're blatantly wrong in that regard. Not only is there an explanation for why everything in LotR exists, there's entire tomes written to explain why it all exists and how.

It's evening in Indognesia

Muh trashpunk

You're literally consumed by brainrot.

Naruto is a fantasy

If anything, they should compare Nue to Kill Blue, they're both in the same boat

Declined sales

Are close to hitting 100 chapters but can't generate buzz at all

Always in danger of the axe

But they might survive because there's nothing else to adapt other than Akane if we go by patterns

he very same criticism you're making of Fieren applies to classic western fantasy stories like Lord of the Rings and The Wheel of Time series

What the actual fuck

KGBfags don't care about Nue so you know it's some axed manga shitter hiding behind KGB

So has Kawaguchi's manga leaked yet? Why is everyone praising it?

The tomes aren't IN the original story itself and you're not given the origins of most things in the story beyond what's relevant to the plot.

Trying to falseflag so hard that he want to make people forgot he is himself a BCfag.

What kind of mental illiness is this?

Yes. It is. Obviously so.

If new manga is about cooking - does that mean Kawaguchi has a chef supervises him?

Will anything top the Esdeath Chainsaw Cooking?

It's a cook that does battle. Our very first Toriko-like.

Are close to hitting 100 chapters but can't generate buzz at all

Nue at least won 1st place in Animejapan so it has that going on
I have no idea how Kill Blue is still living.

Souma Storytime ended

new manga is about cooking

I'm starting to see some pattern of shilling.

Threadly reminder that nuerat schizo and brazilian anti KGB schizo are just BCfag and Jeremy console warring
Just ignore

good for you, you dont have brain to rot.

Does Kawaguchi has nepo connection?

Nue won simply because it has a gigaschizo who got mindbroken by it.
Kagurabachi too.

Yes, it's called the Iceberg Theory. It's a famous quote by Ernest Hemingway himself. You only show 10% of what you actually planned. The details of your world come to the surface in more subtle ways and a tight narrative. This is especially true in manga which are a visual medium and can thus do visual storytelling.

The problem with native Isekai is that nothing is thought of or planned. The author doesn't have answers to the questions about their world or story. Everything is just assumed. While an author who worldbuilt can answer basically everything about their story, even if they didn't show you in the story itself. This enhances the narrative because the details that do make it into the story make the world more immersive and believable.

eslfag writes nonsense statement

Since when were "nuerats" a genre?

He got U19 bro, he live on the slump.

Few years ago when both series started there definitely was some console war shitflinging from both sides. Nue had some weird SEAnigger post about it all the time too. Each series chapter threads would be spammed by a few schizos but that died once KGB became the very clear winner. Now it's just one anon who likes attention, but the joke hasn't been funny in a long time.

Why would a U19 author get protection?

Still can't beat Medalist anime announcement in the middle of storytime period.

Few years ago

Anon, KGB hasn't hit 2yrs old yet and Nue just turned 2

I feel like he's Hori 2.0
Makes flop after flop hoping to catch a a break.

I'm turning into an ESL with all these threads

year and a half ago at most

What the fuck ever you know what I meant.

Hori got a hit on his third try (this being MHA obviously)

The zoo manga is actually kino incarnate, just way ahead of its time.

Yeah, which means we're still on Kawaguchi's downturn atm.

I don't believe you.

No, his editor for Red Hood got sent to another department aka fired
Kawaguchi might have menhara protection however since Red Hood was relentlessly shit on by 2chan and unhinged /wsj/ anons were posting the axe under his twitter

Were both of Hori's first two manga in WSJ?

Kawaguchi is actually very lucky that he got Embers and Beethoven as cushion right from the start.

They'll likely to get U19 considering their horrid reception though?

Yes

was running my shoseki calculation program and it's absolutely insane the staying power of kagurabachi in the weekly ranking.
since its debut in 2024/1/29-2/4, there's only 1 week where there isn't a single volume of Kagurabachi inside top 500
I even estimated its 1st vol has sold around 314k or even more.

menhara

It's menHERA and it's Japanese for mental health. Which means your statement makes little sense.

The problem with native Isekai is that nothing is thought of or planned

So in other words Native Isekai is just a term for series you don't like. Simply because a fantasy story has a poorly conceived setting doesn't magically make it "native isekai" Eragon for instance doesn't magically become "Native Isekai" just because it has shitty world building

I can only hope it goes higher so its inevitable humiliation by Ichi surpassing it will be even bigger

Not quite
By the time Oteru and Nice Prison start ranking for real, those two would likely be gone already

It's the opposite actually since he's facing against Ichi for the same spot.

No, native Isekai is a term for fantasy stories that just use a generic stand-in fantasy setting instead of doing actual Worldbuilding and that never really explain anything about their world because it hasn't been thought out at all.

what, wheres my cover?

-Samura's second time

This is really nice looking art though

Lol.jpg - 2048x1826, 430.93K

Shitty Worldbuilding is still Worldbuilding.

there is no same spot. both can be hit, both can live. one have witch-medieval. the other is vikings.

Not on Saito watch.

Wow I got one letter wrong
You get the point anyway, editors might be looking out for his mental health considering they have already gone out their way to place him in other collaborate projects like Study Jump that included veterans

i hate the retard who coined this term
it's just slop fantasy, I understand the distinction that's attempted to be drawn but it's literally just fantasy jesus christ

So just Fantasy. Again, shitty world building doesn't magically make it not just a Fantasy story

So is it vikings or food?

It's been said already that "native isekai" is used for stuff that just lazily use western fantasy from the JRPG pipeline wholesale without building up its own setting.
Why would rando western titles like Twilight or Eragon be included in that?

yeah pretty low for a supposed 'big' manga

It's pretty easy to understand:

Modern isekai use generic stock settings and avoid doing any proper Worldbuilding, just using a readers understanding of fantasy tropes to fill in the gaps.

Native Isekai do the exact same lazy thing, but do it without the Isekai plot device.

Slop fantasy is a fine term too if you want. It's just lazy writing. Isekai used to be good too before it got super commercialized and had actual proper Worldbuilding. See Narnia, Digimon Adventure, etc...

QRT is full of women thirst

yikes maybe Shiba is benched for a reason

That's a lot anon, what are you talking about

Saito needs to stop turning this into Weekly Cushion Jump

Anyone with a brain understands the distinction and doesn't obsess over what the term itself literally means. There's already contradictory terms like space western but westerns don't have enough hyperautists to get anal about the term. Everyone can understand western is more than its setting, just as isekai at this point is associated more with video game based low effort worldbuilding.

The reason why I'm using western series is to make it extremely clear that any and all reasons you have for call shit "Native Isekai" applies to many western series too, the entire concept of "It's inspired by a JRPG" is inherently retarded because JRPGs like DQ and Final Fantasy are just standard fantasy stories that make use of existing tropes from other fantasy stories. Are you going to call FF1 "native isekai" too because it reuses the D&D monster manual or are you going to call DQ1 a "native isekai" because it takes most of its concept from Wizardry 1

There's a difference between shitty Worldbuilding and mo Worldbuilding. See This really shouldn't be that difficult for you to grasp. Just how low is your IQ? I'm not even the anon you were originally arguing with, as I haven't read past ch.1 of Frieren, so I can't make a proper judgement, but I know what a soulless lazy stand-in fantasy setting looks like, and what native Isekai is trying to describe.

The fact that you tried to argue that technically it's the same as LotR because XYZ proves you're a gigaretard.

Weekly Cushion Jump

When his only hit is in a very safe spot

Can we go back to Nue vs KGB.
Native Isekai is very much valid in today's setup for story-writing.

I wonder why it took basically a week, probably final preparations for the anime reveal next month, it'd be sorted out around now

Valid? Sure.
Is it the only option? No. Stories can still worldbuild. See: the most successful manga of all time

I wouldn't say dragonball has that much world building

I haven't read past ch.1 of Frieren

So what you have to say about Fieren does not matter. What's even more retarded is that you're using a term to just describe shitty world building like it makes sense to use said term instead of just calling it shitty world building. Native Isekai is just a shitposting term only used to refer to Fantasy stories you don't like and any and all attempts at rationalizing this stupid term make that abundantly clear

Western stories can have soulless Worldbuilding as well, and get criticized for it too.

The term native Isekai means "Isekai Worldbuilding but without the Isekai trope" so it's typically used to describe lazy Japanese media. Why is this so hard for you to understand?

So what you have to say about Fieren does not matter.

I never said anything about Frieren. Just how bad is your reading comprehension? If you struggle this much in just following internet posts, it's no wonder the concept of "native Isekai" totally eludes you.

new manga from the most renown among /wsj/

/wsj/fags are losing their minds over "native isekai" as debatable term/genre

JRPGs have their interactive aspect where you can venture around and find out about the setting through side quests, mats, and flavour texts. They still pick a lot of tropes from classic fantasy titles but give them their own twists, and anyone who know nothing of them before hand (like what the fuck is a dwarf) can learn them by exploring the interactive world.
Now imagine those JRPGs that already took tropes are stripped out of its interactivity and playability, and then its settings are wholesale copied to stories from narou to manga to anime. THOSE are native isekai.

Give me TEN(10) example of these so called native isekai.

nice to be back.

i can not fucking believe Nue's still exists

i prefer seeing real debate than fake consolewar with two retards spamming.

He started it all

Yeah, but it's not using an Isekai setting like a native Isekai does, which is what this retard continues to fail to understand.

Native Isekai literally means "Isekai without the Isekai" it's a more descriptive term than "poor Worldbuilding." Do people use it to shitpost? Yes. Does that make the term invalid or dilute its meaning? Only to the stupid idiots that can't infer a simple basic concept.

This is literally The Elder Scrolls

I can't. I don't read garbage.

And the Elder Scrolls is not a native Isekai and has original Worldbuilding.

Also, imo, the term native Isekai doesn't apply to videogames. But that's just me.

"Isekai Worldbuilding but without the Isekai trope

So just...Fantasy. It's not as if Isekai series as sub genre use world building tropes and ideas thats any different from conventional fantasy. Heck Isekai doesn't even HAVE to be Fantasy, it can also be Sci-Fi or Urban Fantasy too

The only way for you to learn the origins of Chaos, the Crystals and the Player characters is to play other final fantasy games that have little to do with FF1 itself. The protagonist of DQ1 and the Dracolord aren't given elaborate origins, same for the rest of the world that DQ1 takes place in, it had to be more fleshed out in the next 2 games.

What the fuck is an Isekai setting?

I mean, that's a pretty good example of what a native Isekai is.

Can't wait till we cut to a full volume of Teacher and Yura vs Tafuku, Hagiwara, Hiyuki and Kazane and Kazane gets on a volume cover before Shiba

What the fuck is an Isekai setting?

NTA but pretty obvious it's generic OP character in nondescript fantasy setting

No fuckface. Because most fantasy doesn't rely solely on tropes and the audience understanding of them as a stand-in for actual fucking Worldbuilding. Something both ISEKAI and native Isekai frequently rely on.

Hell, I already told you, Isekai used to have proper Worldbuilding. Look at Digimon and compare it to modern Isekai slop.

There are at least 3 here if you count from rating 75 down

Is Solo Leveling native isekai?

the instant kneejerk reactions from braindead fantasyfags

OP was ahead of his time lmao. Comedy-horror example in the thread is also great, people really can't wrap their heads around oxymorons used as labels.

That's actually pretty novel unlike whatever nonsense there are in this thread.

表紙になるまでsbが一枚ずつ脱いでいくのはどうだろう

This is exactly what's going to happen lmao.

That's just generic fantasy, what the fuck about that is specifically Isekai?

Because most fantasy doesn't rely solely on tropes and the audience understanding of them as a stand-in for actual fucking Worldbuilding

What does any of this have to specifically do with Isekai? You even gave a counter example so it's not even like what you said makes any sense to specifically tie this to isekai beyond general poor writing.

Also, imo, the term native Isekai doesn't apply to videogames. But that's just me

Devs usually put enough worldbuilding into games so

Anon. We're not talking about Isekai as in Alice in Wonderland or Narnia or Digimon. We're talking about Isekai as in "I Died and Was Reborn as a Supreme Sex Sod Gigachad Thundercock in a Videogame World with RPG Mechanics."

People don't call digimon isekai back then.

volume 20

naked dogeza for being the most useless character in the series

Solo Leveling is the next step after the Isekai trend. Some people call it "reverse Isekai" but it's basically "RPG dungeons appear in the real world and I have hax." Solo Leveling is pretty much THE model for that trend, especially since it wasn't even the one that started it, but the one that will kick it into the mainstream. Like SAO did for Isekai.

“Native Isekai” and “Soft Seinen” give me the same vibes.

Solo Leveling is wuxia reverse isekai

BL-sama is so fucking funny

Diva.png - 916x966, 212.42K

It will be funny seeing gen alpha go through their own isekai hate phase. You go to any manhwa site and there's a billion clones of Solo Leveling.

Do you really think Digimon and "I was reborn as a slime" are on the same fucking level? You should know what we're talking about when we talk about Isekai here anon

Soft Seinen means that the manga is trying too hard to be mature like KGB as example with the recent plot progression.

Because Isekai wasn't a trend back then you stupid dumbass.

Nah, KGB is shonen to its core
Chenso was soft seinen

Soft seinen is a stupid forced term by people who like to pretend HxH is a cut above its peers. It has no clear definition. Just like how calling Berserk a soft Shounen or whatever is equally retarded.

Native Isekai makes perfect sense. It's Isekai slop without the Isekai. It's understandable pretty much on the term alone.

Yep. I remember how we used to have threads about whether or not Isekai was the endpoint of the generic slop, and would wonder what would follow. Well, it's pretty obvious now.

I'd like to think of soft seinen as just being sissy kek
Seinen as in young adults who obviously haven't been punched in the face by life trying to be edgy but ended up soft as fuck instead

I Died and Was Reborn as a Supreme Sex Sod Gigachad Thundercock in a Videogame World with RPG Mechanics

What about this would involve world buidling tropes any different from convectional fantasy? It's not as if self insert amateur fiction like your hyperthetical didn't exist for years either btw.

They're not on the same level because they were written for different audiences and instead focus on different story beats. Slime is the story of a guy rising to power and establishing his own nation while Digimon is the story of a group of young chosen ones who must defeat the prophecised evils that threaten both worlds while trying to make their way back home.

Hunter CHAD btw

Isekai as genre is just too diverse at this point for it to pass away just as a seasonal fad.

I actually liked the Izakaya anime, even the segments at the end where the old guy would go to bars and try out the food they made in the anime

Digimon is the story of a group of young chosen ones who must defeat the prophecised evils that threaten both worlds while trying to make their way back home.

If you put it that way it's just Hero vs Demon King all over again.

People forgot how Dungeon Meshi is basically the very first instance of Native Isekai. It has all the elements that we're talking in this very thread.

That's just japan food ad.

Digimon used its setting to reinforce it's themes and ideas. Slime did not, and didn't give a shit about the setting outside of it being a vehicle for a power fantasy.

Therein lies your distinction.

Setting has a purpose in a story.

Is there a way to easily search for Takeru's twitter? His twitter is literally just random numbers and letters

Power fantasies existed before Isekai slop too you know...

New thread to update cover

It has proper worldbuilding though?
That manga is probably one rare case when a manga ported D&D but still bothers to explain and expand everything in it to its readers

That's not lmao

Because its a very common trope in many types of adventure stories.

The world of Digimon Adventure was just a reused setting from the Digital Monster vpets/Digital Monsters Ver S./ World 1. The world itself wasn't used to reinforce themes or ideas but rather the events that unfolded to the characters. Tamers had a much better digital world since it did actually tie into reinforce ideas and themes given that the Tamers digital world was created by the Digignomes who grant wishes using strong beliefs

YUP.

Isekai generals is two blocks down

Digimon is not wish fullfill fantasy like "modern" isekai though.
Literally no digimon mc go "hahahaha I have strongest mon now so i will fuck all the girls"

You're saying as if it's a bad thing.

Digimon Adventure is wishfulfillment, as is virtually all fiction , it was a promotional anime made to sell virtual pets to kids and did so by showing kids their own age going on cool adventures and battles with their own super special partner that grows stronger just by you believing in your bond strongly enough.

Just because it's not something as incredibly tacky as wanting to fuck all the hot bitches doesn't mean it isn't wishfullfillment

You're being so reductive in your arguments there's literally no point in debating with you. You're intentionally overgeneralizing everything in order to suit your narrative. You're arguing in bad faith.

I can't make a counterargument so I'll just throw out terms without explaining shit and run

Good. Never mention Digimon again either btw, I'm an actual fan and I don't want you using it to try and justify retarded bullshit like "Native Isekai" again.

People forgot how Dungeon Meshi is basically the very first instance of Native Isekai

It's not

Are you can't differentiate heroes journey with wish fulfillment stories?
Digimon is heroes journey

And it's also not wish fulfillment how?

He's a retard, don't bother.

Please explain how the Hero's Journey is mutually exclusive from wish fulfillment.

lel it's you again, the heroes journey fag.

lel it's you again, the fagfag

No

Probably the most retarded post I've seen today. You're asking how a narrative form focused solely on dragging a hero out of their comfort zone is exclusive from wish fulfillment.

Yes. How is it not also a form of wish fulfillment

Don't bother entertaining him. He's retarded and thirst for engagement.

This is what cope looks like. You have literally no counter arguments so all you can do now is run.

its not.
If its wish fulflllment like average modern isekai it will go "i have omegamon now so i will fuck all the girls and mon-girls"

Wish Fulfillment isn't specifically "hurr durr sex sex sex" it's when you fulfill a desire through vicarious means, such as the desire for romance or the desire to go on a heroic adventure. Digimon is no different because it's about kids, just like the intended viewers, going on a journey through a strange but exciting land having epic battles against evil foes alongside their very own special partner that loves you unconditionally.

He was a Horikoshi assistant on Boku no Hero

the new one starting in the next issue

oh the magademy awards are next week, completely forgot about that

Is the catalog going crazy for anyone? I made a new thread with an otel cover op and it never appears. Its been 40 mins.

It's happening again

Nvm here. New thread

people who force native isekai are just as dumb as kgbfags

lol
