I would need 10 lifetimes to get through this backlog. How the fuck there are so much stuff to read?
I give up
Because your mother never loved you, ESL-kun.
I deleted the entire 'to watch/to read' folder that I've downloaded throughout the years. Never felt so liberating.
You lost the moment you kept track.
I might do it as well. Shit is exhausting just to sort through.
It wasn't so bad 10 years ago.
Don't you read daily? If you are consistent you will noticeably shrink it with each passing year with pretty small investemnt.
99% garbage
If you learn Japanese, you will no longer need to rely on scanlators and will be able to finish your backlog pretty fast
I have 1759 planning on my anime plan to watch list so I can relate lmao
This is why I only watch one anime at a time and never juggle. I get triggered by MAL lists breathing down my neck and judging me.
Helo, is are you from future. Its okay not plan to read everything you see
It's often harder to find the scan in Japanese than in English though.
t. learned Japanese while under this impression and still forced to read in eigo sometimes
You backlog is so big because your standards are incredibly low.
oh noooooooooooo i like thing too much i have so much thing to readdddd
I would need 10 lifetimes
Meh just 2 year is enough
Maybe if you're sneedreading and don't actually pay attention.
Why do you lie? Name one series you can't find.
Vol 2&3 of ヴィクトリアの電気棺.
Do you just read absolutely everything?
How can you have trouble finding it?
Are you stupid or something?
magazine.jp.square-enix.com
magazine.jp.square-enix.com
So you're put them there for show?
The trick is to not have absolute shit taste.
No.My reading list is much smaller.
Those only have the first chapter for free, for the rest you have to buy it on an ebook site which is pretty obviously not what I was referring to
that's still seems like pretty much every title in mangadex
You're retarded and seriously lacking in discernment, OP. What, did you just fave every single isekai slop out there? I don't understand how you can even reach that number without doing something that silly. I've been reading manga for ~20 years and my entire Mangadex library, including ongoing, hiatus, completed ones I added retroactively etc., comes up to not even 1k.
Simple
put in "reading" what you are actually reading
check out only finished things
start reading it 1 at the time
finish it
rinse and repeat
So what if you come across some ongoing series with interesting premise but you don't have the time to read it yet?
turns his hobby into a burden
retard
you can put it "on hold", I too read too many series, but of the ones I put in my list are actually finished.
There are a lot of Manga that I want to read, but are unfinished and trying to follow them month by month, not knowing if the translation will drop would just make things more tense and less enjoyable.
which is pretty obviously not what I was referring to
No it's not. You said they're hard to find, not that you'd have to do the horrible thing of paying $4 for something you care about.
Stop moving the goalposts.
you can put it "on hold"
On hold: 466 titles
now what
Ignore it? If you don't have time to read it now then it's not going to change in the future. You'll just end up piling up more and more series without ever touching them.
Or you could actually read them instead of wasting your time elsewhere.
Actually I said it’s harder to find than in English, which it certainly is if you can find it on Mangadex. You seem to have interpreted that as me claiming it was lost media or something
ok shill
that being said I do agree that buying books makes you more likely to read them than when pirating.
t. NTA
I just downloaded 10 series in Japanese to read on my tablet. At some point you realize that you don't have the attention bandwidth to go through all of them and invest into each title.
Pretty crazy right? I've come to the point where I can read or watch anything in Japanese and I don't even want to engage in 99% of the content out there because it's either not good enough or it doesn't feel worth it to invest the time into it.
which it certainly is if you can find it on Mangadex
Mangadex doesn't have Japanese manga at all. Does that mean it's the center of the universe and if you can't find it there you're forced to read scamlations? There's tons of sites that have it.
If I wanted to shill I'd post a specific store instead of the publisher's site that links to all of them.
what do you mean 4 lifetimes? just read like 2 volumes a day. that's 5 hours. find the time.
I don't even want to engage in 99% of the content out there because it's either not good enough or it doesn't feel worth it to invest the time into it.
You spend too much time thinking about investing time.
I became far more attached to manga once I started spending money on it and actively reading magazines when they come out.
Kind of crazy how much manga seems to be out there. On the other hand, what's the point in shoveling slop down your throat just because the backlog number goes down? Lifetime is a limited resource and there are better ways to spend it than reading 300 chapters of "reincarnated as my sister's toilet in another world".
Money is time so you practically double-paid into your investment. I just want to enjoy the series which are worth it instead of feeling bound by it
I avoid isekai like the plague. God knows how much more my list will inflate if I didn't.
I partially blame Anon Babble for this. I pick up something new every time I come here. OPTs are the worst offenders.
And the result is you endlessly worrying about wasting your time and not enjoying anything.
Stop posting and read you lazy shit.
OPTs are the worst offenders.
Aren't those just blatant rec threads?
Personally I never pick up anything posted on Anon Babble and never recommend series to others. Too many good series would be wasted on the plebs here.
Worrying about not enjoying something is infinitely less than eating the sunk cost and forcing yourself to slog through months, maybe years of an unenjoyable series and regretting it at the end.
Just drop series you don't enjoy. It's a lot simpler than missing out on fun just because you didn't think it would be worth it.
Read at 2x speed, retard
Why are buyfags always so uppity?
When you can't read something because you're too cheap to pay for it then say so instead of assuming everybody to be like you.
What's the point of discouraging people from learning Japanese?
Let's say you can finish a manga per week, though I'm sure you can do much more than that, you would need 50 years to finish it all, seems more than enough time.
Exemplum primum.
I got a couple of MDlists too, like things that I will only read once they are finished, because you can't trust an author not to fumble things sometimes....no scratch that, it happens too often.
Or things that are part of a specific genre.
Is not a job, you read Manga when you feel like reading it, some days I feel like continuing something like a SoL other days I want something more serious.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, you give it a chance, you don't like it, you leave it and take it out of your list.
What do you even come here for if you don't want to discuss the things you like?
What do you even come here for if you don't want to discuss the things you like?
Discussing anime. And you can still discuss things without blatant recommendations.
Anon, if your backlog is super fucking long, that's a sign of shit taste.
That sounds better than running out of things to read
It sounds like when you said
Too many good series would be wasted on the plebs here
That you don't ever make threads about series you like or that you wanted to discourage people from discussing them, lest new people find them.
I don't engage with rec threads and don't make threads on how everybody should read a specific series.
You just don't care about manga.
You probably have no idea whatsoever about manga and think its all isekai some stupid shit like that.
How the fuck there are so much stuff to read?
There isn't. Stop adding every single garbage you come across.
just keep reading
at least he had a mother, eop
but all you have are these trips
Or he just doesn't have a backlog.
I have a wishlist of around a hundred titles where I'm waiting for a good opportunity to purchase. I'll add further titles on occassion and sometimes remove a series for reasons other than buying it but the size itself has remained relatively constant throughout the years.
After I obtained a series I just wait for the right moment to read it.
20 years
less than 1k
not saying that either is wrong but people have different reading habits
like, one shots alone can boost your list by a couple of thousand entries
There's certainly more than ten thousand great manga out of the millions that exist in total.
Doubt that op managed to stumble upon more than a handful of them.
no shit
good manga recs are half of what Anon Babble is worth
when there is so much manga out there you need other people to find the diamonds in the shit
you need other people to find the diamonds in the shit
Not from the shit-eaters on Anon Babble.
The only once to rely on are editors and you can find indie content beyond that.
There's tons of sites that have it.
