Vagabond

What the fuck are you people doing with your lives man
Holy shit
I just dont understand this

2018

Fuck Inoue seriously

It’s one of the few unfinished manga that I think is worth reading. Where it ended wasn’t all too unsatisfying.

Sasaki has made his way up into being a great samurai

Myamoto is rebuilding his life by helping with the farm and has bonded with Iori(the real version adopts him)

its been 10 years, let go

What a mentally ill post. Nobody's life is stopping because of it.

why do people act like this could never be animated? I just started reading volume 2 and so far it seems entirely possible.

when I learned he's a zionist dickrider

Most of the appeal is the art style, the anime would never be able to capture it unless they want to kill their animators and even then

yeah but so far there's only been two scenes that would need a lot of animation, the yoshioka school and the fights against the bandits who are trying to rape the two girls who rescued them

If you wanna know how it ends, just read Miyamoto's biography
still sad that the manga stopped before showing Miyamoto's final duel with Sasaki

It can't be because Inoue will most likely never allow it

why not? Im very new to the series so I know nothing about the author

Dude just seems extremely protective of his works, I guess it's not fully impossible since he eventually accepted to make another Slam Dunk adaptation (even if it took years of Toei begging plus Inoue taking full control as director and writer) but I just don't see it happening

did he not like the original adaptation of slam dunk?

who? Inoue?
I just knew he was getting some flack for being one of the artists participating in the Watsuki celebration but I hadn't hear about that

I was satisfied with the half ass ending.

you know you can read the ending in the book right now, right?

He praised his Israel fans of his works during the gaza stuff, probably something else im missing but I have heard people complain about it.

Inoue made an epilogue chapter too in some exposition. It was good.

When Inoue lost hope

Are you stupid? The actual climax is the duel which we'll never see.

Reading several mangas

Catch up

Look at early volumes release spans between chapters

"Nice, it's weekly at least"

Latest chapters are at least a month apart, if not much more (looking at you Cestvs, Clevatess, The Witch and the Beast)

Then you have stuff like ITT where it's just forever unfinished.

Is it better than the book?

I think it "ended" at a good time honestly.
Would love to see the story continue but you already know the ending if you look up the history.
Feel free to spoil yourself.

I honestly think that abandon a manga like that it's an insult to the readers. Also he will never finish Real! neither.

he wrote himself into a corner and progressed Musashis character to much

I read Shigurui instead.

Anyone know whats happening with real, and when the next chapter is coming?

Do you think he could have pulled off the most well-known ending in Japanese literature? Everyone know how it will end and has already imagined how it will go. I think Inoue realised that he cant do it justice and just gave up.

push for a vagabond anime adaptation, it would 100% get him back to writing as he really enjoyed working on the slam dunk one

Vagabond is definitely a passion project for him I do think he's going to come back in the future

What's the best samurai manga?

I don't care about Vagabond, because I can easily read the novel by Eiji Yoshikawa which is much better.

When I calculated that Inoue was more likely to die before drawing a single page of Vagabond ever again

Finish reading the series and you'll likely find out why.
If you still have to ask that question after reading the whole series, I'm afraid I have some bad news.

its not like other mangaka that have some crippling heath issue. the man is just burnt out on vagabond

when he came back after the first big hiatus and it wasn't as good

nah, it's more his follow list is like 400 ppl and a big chunk of them are niche japanese and american rw pundits

I follow him on Twitter and Instagram and the only time I remember him mentioning Israel was when he did a copy paste "Thank you for your support" message for the middle east region after the Slam Dunk movie released there (which he did for every region it released)

I usually don't call anything "pretentious" but Vagabond always seemed to me a series that believes itself to be much deeper than it actually is. Besides the great art and some memorable individual moments there is not much depth there. I think Lone Wolf and Cub, Shigurui and Takemitsu Zamurai are all much better samurai manga than Vagabond. It doesn't help that is not even very original since it is just an adaptation of a novel.

Isn’t he finishing REAL? Just wait till that’s done and he’ll probably finish Vagabond.

May I ask for the equation you used?

He's going at a snail's pace and not getting any younger so he's just gonna get slower. At this rate he's gonna get Miura'd

im sorry for anyome that enjoys slam dunk and REAL but i hate sportsball so much its unreal

Didn't he finish it in that exhibition?
