So, any big news lately?
Scanlation Thread
Any good sites to upload to now that mangadex is finally dead at last? I guess batoto and dynasty scans if it’s yuri, but I don’t know if those get scraped by aggregators?
Also good fucking riddance.
this whole thing is a bummer
Their DMCA page is laughable.
Please remember that you are liable for damages caused by filing DMCA requests that are invalid, misrepresented, or issued under false pretenses.
Abuse of such policies has led to penalties in the past , and you are strongly recommended to contact a lawyer before filing any claim.
How in the world did they even think that was going to work? Are they stupid?
All bark and no bite.
How is that relevant now?
Batoto is good for shoujo too.
Still not using your master's aids ridden site, faketoto shills.
none of my series got pulled so i don't care
Mangadex has been stricken by a massive DMCA from several publishers, at least from:
Kadokawa Corporation
Kodansha Ltd.
Shueisha Inc.
Shogakukan Inc.
Square Enix Co., Ltd.
Futabasha Publishers Ltd.
Hakusensha Inc.
People have counted over 700 titles getting purged, most likely the number is in the thousands.
same
thank you akita shoten for your mercy
Three of mine got hit, but I haven't worked on them in years.
Yes, but that DMCA warning has nothing to do with legitimate notices like that one.
You ARE making sure your scanlations are archived, right?
Hakusensha Inc.
Really? I just checked and their big IPs are still available. What Hakusensha series were affected?
I took the list from the scanlation subplebbit, but it's a sister company of shueisha.
mass DMCA on everything, including series with no english license
japanese execs are so fucking retarded
I don't know where else to ask this
It's my first time making subtitles, is there any cardinal sin of subtitling I have to watch out for or can I just eyeball timing and typesetting and call it day, and stuff like that
I delete shit as soon as I'm done with a series. No way in hell I'm allocating disk space for that crap, if no one bothers preserving my translation then it simply doesn't deserve to exist and should disappear like tears in the rain.
Rock is a Lady's Modesty for instance only has 8 English chapters left.
The only one I know about is having more than two lines at the same time, just break the sentence if it gets too long.
The lessons to be learned from DMM have never been beaten into japanese execs heads yet.
I have all of it on random usb sticks and old ssds lying around somewhere.
I'm probably not going to find them and reupload them elsewhere. I'm fine with the aggregators having picked them up honestly.
Surely this will make the average English speaker buy raws in a language they can't read (assuming said raws aren't also geo-blocked)
That's just what is available from the start. The Spanish translation is still there too.
Mine is all over the Internet now due to aggregators. No fear of loss whatsoever.
Strokes are enough. No need for shadows.
Three of mine got nuked, two were finished and one was dropped
Only one of them had been licensed in English
No. If nobody cared about the series and/or my work enough to archive it themselves, it can stay dead.
I only archive porn and I only started doing when the Panda almost died. I'm not going to bother with regular manga.
What still baffles is how faggots like the owner of webcentral can give publishers the middle finger and MD just bend over and take it without lube.
I bet you can do a better Five Star Stories scanlation than that redditfag shilling their shitty machine translated slop.
What still baffles is how faggots like the owner of webcentral can give publishers the middle finger and MD just bend over and take it without lube.
Isn't it obvious that they desperately want to be the CR of manga?
hello I have have heard that comick is a good alternative.
fuck off
I thought I managed to escape unscathed, but everything is gone now...
A while ago in one of these threads an Anon told me they don't take down scanlations because it's basically advertising for official releases or something to that effect. Looks like I was right, bitch.
Hopefully companies start going after scanlator groups next
They'll learn Japanese eventually.
what the fuck are they gonna do, send a samurai hit squad to my house in czechoslovakia? The japs can't do shit other than sending some emails and crying about it
It was a matter of time since shueisha started taking down raw sites.
I am authorized by the copyright owner to uplod this content on MangaDex
What do I do?
Does mag-garden still publish its ebooks in x1920?
I sorta doubt they're going to go after groups unless it's high profiled monetized ones like Reaper Scans. They had like 12k releases or something.
