Did your favorite manga survive the purge?
Did your favorite manga survive the purge?
Yes
Use weebcentral
Okay, what about ongoing translated series, how is the upload process here?
Three of our currently-ongoing titles were completely purged. Am definitely not happy with how it turned out. Apart from weebcentral, I'm also considering uploading to Cubari as well.
normie issues
My favorite manga have official (slow) releases which I support but I shan't be buying them after this
no
Who's DMCA'ing?
I get the super popular shonen jump stuff but some random ass series also got hit too
They will always be one or the other site to pop up and host them. The one I used to read when I first started reading managa, onemanga has been dead for years.
multiple publishers jointly
While I'm certainly happy Touge Oni is safe the one that hurts me right now is Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai getting hit. The anime just had too plastic-y of a look to it
Everything from Shueisha, Kodansha and Square Enix is gone, plus a bunch of stuff that I don't understand.
yep
Shamo
Ichi the Killer
Bokutachi Ga Yarimashita
Ouroburos
Boys on the Run
Ice Blade
The Summit of the Gods
Freesia
Trigun
Eden: It's an Endless World
Jojo
The World is Mine

I was just about to start my Souboutei reread tonight. This is terrible news.
Kodansha
Squeenix
Fuuuuck.
Multiple series that got rushed to completion because the authors got bored of them were victims. Also, many series that never got official translations and so were never going to be sold to me anyway.

this is what every self respecting pirate should do
Fuck my life, I was reading that. It's already hard to find series that aren't cheesiest romance or milionth isekai.

Missing a couple of series I'm reading / planning to read
Shingeki soured me on manga with a plot so I only read ecchi now. They all seem to be fine.
One of the series that I follow got wiped
Scanlator already uploaded a fresh chapter
I already downloaded everything before that
Kek
Souboutei
Someone in the Karakuri storytime recently backed it up with the intention of storytiming it after Karakuri finishes.
It's sad to see Ragna Crimson getting nuked. I guess squeenix US wanted more profit.

Way to out yourself.
compressed shit
No thank you.
A blast from the past.
two of the series i translate got nuked
know there were aggregators that scraped the chapters, but occasionally went back and fixed chapters when official romanizations or name readings were revealed in later chapters, and the aggregators are forever stuck with the outdated versions
oh well
What series?
Damn the have better scans of the series I'm currently reading. Guess I'll switch over for now since I doubt really care about the interference as long as it doesn't make it hard to read.
This certainly doesn't look promising.
Thank god. It appears to be backed up on nyaa too, but there's a lot of other stuff I'm following with no backups even on aggregators. Bad times ahead.

Folding just like that
Sad.
I thought Cubari was just a reader
You mean hosting your own site?
issho ni kurashite ii desu ka? and joshikousei joreishi akane (i've been dreadfully late on an update for this but i've got a chapter translated and ready to be typeset but i'm going to do J<->M first)
Not that many yuri titles got hit overall, RIP Moon on a Rainy Night though.
Yeah Mangadex is over and this will becomes especially apparent when these publishers tell other to do the same. Something like this was inevitable since the Japanese are very anti piracy and mangadex have folded many times to publisher requests. It was a good site for what it was even though it never really was the same after the rebuild. Hopefully another site will be able to take it's burden since have a central place to find manga probably helped a lot smaller series get translated.
Comick has files in the proper resolution but they're smaller than the original Mangadex uploads
Weebcentral and other sites have smaller res files period
Consequence of scraping, will have to find a site that has the exact files
Old chapters are gone but newest chapters are there. Is that how DMCAs work? I'll have to find something for my backlog.
They're going away too.
Any good replacement site, I used to use Mangapark, but the new version gives me cancer.
