Mangadex just got nuked. This is not good

Over 700+ manga, some of which aren't available any other site, unlicensed, niche, and only have fanlations, just got SNIPED off the face of the planet. This was our holy egg in the manga basket, and it just went up in smokes. I'm so fucking mad about this. What the fuck do we do now?

Lot of series were removed. Frieren, Kingdom, 100 Girlfriends, Nagatoro, and a lot more

Is this your first time, newfag?

Ruh roh

Good. I hate that site since they list stuff that don't have so it messes up Mihon searches

Good, it was me. I did it.

we

(You) should remove yourself from the gene pool immediately

some of which aren't available any other site

Post them because MD has multiple scrapers. If something is on Mangadex, chances are it's in one of the many backup sites.

most of the good manga had already been taken down ages ago

The first filter is literally "has available chapters" you stupid nigger

putting all your eggs into the same basket

nobody cares you fag, you can find alternative sites with a few google searches and no, i will not spoonfeed you. stop spamming these garbage offtopic threads you low iq niggertrash faggot.

Most likely AI/MTL assisted companies like Orange/Emaqi are going to pump out official translations of the thousands of manga they’ve licensed very soon.
Honestly I think this might be the death of scanlation as we know it.

Moscov 2160 got wiped out. I wanted to check it out but was too late. Is it any good?

mosc.jpg - 1350x1920, 517.24K

I was busy these days saving manga I can honestly say I would like to re-read in the future. I also found alternative sites for series I would like to see to the end. Better than just crying.
The only thing that annoys me is if translators will now get cold feet, or bury themselves into their little discords.

If anything this will create a whole new niche because nobody is going to buy AIslop.

This was the company that sent out the mass dmca takedowns
comeso.org

some of which aren't available any other site, unlicensed, niche, and only have fanlations

Provide an exhaustive list or you're just regurgitating pirate cope, also if that was truly the case then you all need to find a better archival method than dumping it on the place you go to save $14 a volume by tolerating the guy who thinks he can do it better than the professionals for free despite barely knowing English let alone Japanese
Provide an exhaustive list of these

thankfully yurifriends still have dynasty

Except they will and they won't care if it is slop. It's happened time and time again with new tech, people complain that the previous handcrafted version is better, then they forget.

Case in point, this is fucking everywhere

tfw I only used Dex because it had the filter feature, allowing me to filter gook and chink shit out and en translations only, without demanding me to make an account.

Look it up on Mangafire

Aggregators sure, but what about sites that let users actually upload and curate content? A central place for scanlators? Without compressing image quality?

I forget how many people eat McDonald's..

Hopefully it is something temporary and recover soon.

We can just go back to the days of every scanlator having their own site, and you can find out about new chapters from MangaUpdates.

While I talked to one Trafalgarlogs (who says he got backups of his translations of certain manga, mostly Gundam manga) on backups, are there other scanlators who are smart enough to preserve their work for the next Mangadex?

Many don't scrape porn though. Not even nhentai for whatever reason. I did one porn title and no other website was scraping it but somehow that one didn't get nuked.

If porn is on MD it's usually also on Sadpanda. If it's not on Sadpanda it's in one of the Fakku rippers. I think several are also on Mangapark.

some of which aren't available any other site

lol

And nothing of value was lost

Using trannydex for porn

Do newfags really?

I've always been using mangaupdates for that, but not having a central place for scanlators to upload to is a bad idea. There are enough people who'll just stop uploading altogether if there's no easy to use website like MD.

If it's not on Sadpanda it's in one of the Fakku rippers

Kek no, those fags delete porn they don't translate all the time.

You didn't expect free shit to be available forever, did you?

i miss my yellow text bros...

oh no! are the chinese and korean excrement safe??!!

This is why you take backups and make torrents. I'm glad I've got my favorites safe and secure.

Anon it's fine. I'm not asking to spoonfeed me. I can find it easily I bet. I'm just asking if it's worth checking out.

people learned absolutely nothing from case batoto

depressing but also very predictable

Yurifriends have Dynasty

Yaoibros have MRM

Shoujosisters have Bato

Shounenlads have a shitload of official translations that get dumped to nyaa weekly

The only people who lose are niche seinen manga enjoyers, as per usual

sad
what case?

Probably wouldn't take long to read the 1st chapter & find out desu

That requires people to already know about such sites.

it's not bad, very slow development, even slower releases.
17 chapters in and barely anything has happened.

Yes?

have a backup

its fucking dynasty

What a monkey paw

some of which aren't available any other site

which? I thought the thirdie pirate sites were pretty comprehensive in their ripping

yani neko got nuked

yanigenius.jpg - 1125x1600, 475.99K

What did people advocate for when batoto went down again? IPFS?

you have learned Japanese by now, r-right?

why did you copy my post

Who honestly cares? The real tragedy is that it's 2025 and barely anybody wants to translate CoroCoro stuff. Seriously, what the fuck are we doing?

some of which aren't available any other site

Name any.

What the fuck are you doing if you still haven't learned japanese?

Smart guy huh? Go ahead and tell me where to find monthly CoroCoro raws. I'll wait.

t. doesn't know Japanese

I couldn't tell you because I don't read any of that faggot shit.

picrel

please don't

What the fuck should I be using to track instead? I'm not manually entering shit into some other site.

So are we finally going to get that decentralized network this time?

And there we have it.

CoroCoro is for little kids, we don't NEED to upload scans let alone translate it!

What kind of retard makes a manga piracy site and doesn't take steps to secure themselves against copyright claims?

one of the usual places, looks like

I was told AI would translate from Japanese perfectly in a matter of weeks...

Anon Babble is dead

Yeah exactly, so good luck finding your chink Highlights magazine.

Korean excrement was the reason it got struck in the first place. The nips didn't care about MD until Mr Kim brought it to their attention

Apparently they wanted to go the Fakku/Crunchyroll route (pirate first then become legit)

Madokami is a joke lmao

Isn't that magazine manga for little kids? People start reading Yotsubato like 1-2 months into learning Japanese

Yet you won't post it. Curious!

You purposefully ignored this anon

Mangadex was never a good place to find new series. Their search function and front page were ass.
This thread is pointless.

Neat

Does it fucking matter what the demographic is? A lot of that stuff isn't archived, it's gone, you can't find it anywhere. So why get mad about some piracy site when the entire community has a major blind spot?

The only CoroCoro manga that even got a translation in recent memory was Puniru, and that's because it was available on their website. That's embarrassing.

They did take steps. Their first defense is to crumble at the slightest pressure and lick the boots of publishers. This isn't the first DMCA hit and it won't be the last. Mangadex should fucking die already.

yeah, at least do your research if paying for shit is impossible

Where do you find all your new series then smart guy, the Anon Babble catalog?

Thread about piracy

"Just buy it lmao"

No. I will never pay a cent for Japanese media. Ever. Under any circumstances.

literally just not putting all your eggs in one basket and getting complacent again
fuck, I've seen scanlators right now posting that they haven't even archived their own releases because "it was on mangadex anyway"
retards the whole lot

How complete is the mangaupdates release page and how is it updated?

not putting all your eggs in one basket

Isn't that kinda the purpose of ipfs?

Anon Babble would unironically be a better place than mangadex.

It will respawn in due time.

It has literally all of the DMCA'd manga people are freaking out about.

Mangaupdates doesn't even allow "no group" releases, so it's actually missing a whole bunch.

Anon Babble and Anon Babble

I need look no farther than CoroCoro, the manga periodical for gay little babies like me.

Last I checked barely anything was on madokami. Has it really changed so much?

You're arrogant. On Nyaa, there are only 5 results for CoroCoro raws. MangaDex only had a very scattered selection and that's obviously gone now. Unless you just want Pokemon information there's nothing. It's like this with "kiddie" anime too. And all of you just pretend this shit doesn't exist.

READ.txt

2018

has it really been 7 years since they last accepted new users?

Anon Babble is a crapshoot. Mangadex has a detailed filter system. I don't even care if I have to go somewhere else to read now as long as the listings are still there for me to search up.

people in this thread

You shouldn't put all eggs in ze same bazket

Also these same people

Never have done anything but leech of other people's work, whether it's the artist's, the site admin's, the translator's, the uploaders'

Personally, I find most of my new manga in Comic LO.

Madokami has been basically dead for ages

Saturday night 10pm JST mass DMCAs

Huh?

Someone explain to me why this presumed loss of sales to edgy undergae kids who read one piece for free is worse than actual copyright IP infringement of doujins, unofficial merch, lietral con artists making official fakes, and the never-ending second-hand scalping not just abroad but in Japan. Known an infringement but allowed to happen coz mug Japanese fans?

Most importantly in fact lets get back to all the anime goodies, t-shirts and car wraps and artists using the pre-existing fanbase of big ass franchises that don't have official clearance just selling things on regular websites from to etsy, heck even amazon. Also they hit archive type aggregators with DMCAs but not raw and yet torrent sites in Korean and Japanese that are still up?

When actual models have a contract do cosplay why is there no permission request form for dumbelles minting money off their socials? The scams fine so long as its done in Japan even if its by actual Russian hostesses leaching off dudebros via patreon while having a late night perma gig in minato?

Btw do the cons give some perecnt comish to actual authors? In fact how much of VIZ or crunchyroll goes back as a percent?

Mangadex may be hit but what about the paywalls of ArtLapsa or SIren Scans? how are they flying under the radar?

Nah, that anon is talking out of his ass. It never was being updated with every scanlation. It only gets updated with compiled scanlated chapters every now and then.

HOLY FUCK GUYS BATOTO JUST GOT NUKED

slowb.png - 256x256, 19.09K

DON'T WORRY GUYS
The machine "translation" of my favorite novel's manga adaptation is still up on mangadex!

I was just joking. Do you really not know any manga database?

there's still constant uploads, idk why the dates don't reflect in the dir tho. Someone else could probably give an explanation.

Japan should be grateful anyone outside of their country reads a single page of their work.
OH AND BY THE WAY, IT'S STILL ***IMPOSSIBLE*** TO LISTEN TO TERRESTRIAL JAPANESE RADIO WITHOUT A VPN

BATOTO

still up

yeah, nyaa is not the only place, you know

Someone needs to ask that twitter excel spreadsheet list maker to put if series has official or not in the side. So far that is the most exhasutive list of ALL titles. It can be used to verify other claims. As far as I know majority of these are still up on my other sites.

I mean the dates is when the folder itself was changed/created.
It's a decent repository for old stuff, but it was always garbage for following ongoing manga

So what's the chance it's somebody just running a bot to DMCA everything?

I do not, though I did just find a list with a couple. guess I'll try one out next time.

At the end of the day, it really is just an archive.

I forget fakku are even a thing. Who are their rippers?

Then get fucked rmao

normalfag problems

lor.png - 1920x1080, 1.21M

Still won't post it. And I know why, too. Because it doesn't exist, and you know it doesn't exist either, but you need to feel high and mighty like you're in a secret club.

how do other manga sites upload all kinds of copyrighted shit but Mangadex is the one that gets taken down?

No point in bringing it up: newfags can't get in, oldfags already use it, and the less attention it gets the better.

It's just fine for the ongoing manga I bother keeping up with.

mangadex admins are pussy ass faggot bitches

New volume releases are still being uploaded there and that's what I'm mainly into nowadays anyway. I don't read ongoing manga by weekly or monthly releases anymore.

Anon, they're throwing out and insulting actual tourists. From entering certain areas in a city, from photography and even certain restaurants. While these people are actually paying. And not just mutts, they now hate all tourists even other asians(number of stars and idols who regularly go to Japan seemed to be some hint about Japan toruism boost but seems that was a wrong assumption by fans).

And if they really acred about their big corporation money they'd have sued mercari years ago.

Mangadex is a huge quality of life improvement over the old ways but it's still hard to top the resiliency of having IRC channels with redundant bots. Plus they were full of opinionated faggots who you could use to get quality recommendations by saying what kind of thing you felt like reading and watching everyone fight with each other about their picks until you saw something that sounded good.

You can download everything on nyaa/sukeban or whatever it's called. Everythin's upload by some robo guy.

learn Japanese

all of the super obscure manga I want to read isnt scanned anywhere

aaiiieee

Because they don't comply.

don't worry guys, I have already imported all the volumes of my favorite manga from Japan
not that this guy ever finishes a series

file.jpg - 845x1200, 552.51K

Reminder backup the things you like, I've been scraping the releases of followed manga so this doesn't really affect me.

it kind of amazes me that ChatGPT can actually translate manga pretty well, but then you see MTL translations with grammar and typos everywhere. Its like literally how did you do that you retard?

The funny thing is how much Anon Babble worships Madokami despite being so incomplete especially for newer stuff, but there are countless non-MD sites that actually are up-to-date but Anon Babble either doesn't know about them or attacks them. I'm convinced that the main reason Anon Babble cares about Madokami isn't it having old stuff that aren't seeded anywhere else, it's the fact that it's a sekrit club and using it makes them feel special.

basically everything that's slightly popular can be found on other aggregator sites
what's prolly lost are niche titles, titles that only have scanlations and ones that were only uploaded to dex
they also nuked unlicensed material which they had no rights for to do so

NTA but my problem is more that I don't know a "good" place to turn to. It's like how MD is a pretty shitty place to find stuff but anywhere else I've looked for recommendations or tracking has been incomplete or a pain to work with.

I've been reading all of my shit in japanese anyway, does anyone know the best place to get jp RAWs or scans asap?
I mostly torrent stuff on nyaa

Zetsubou-sensei has furigana?

they're throwing out and insulting actual tourists

From what I read, it's because they had too many problems with tourists acting like cattle. Based on what tourists do just about anywhere else in the world, I can believe it.

I just like mangadex for the comment section desu

guess you have to live without it now since even online search engines are beyond you

I want redditors to leave.

...That ain't scanlation, baka anon.

No. It's because the country is full of racist xenophobic corporate bootlickers.

They even nuked some ex-licensed material which normally never gets taken down

I am honestly shocked by the lack of internet literacy these "the sky is falling!" have. Almost everything on MD is findable in multiple, MULTIPLE other sites. It takes like five seconds to find an alternative link to whatever chapter or series got nuked. You don't even have to use Nyaa, Madokami, or whatever sekrit club. Other manga sites exist!

but they have shitty ads!

Use an adblocker. Granted, this doesn't really apply to mobile since Chrome doesn't have an adblocker on Android and iOS, only Firefox does.

but their UI sucks!

The important thing is that you can still read the manga. You all are acting as if what was taken down from MD was lost forever.

but now these series won't get updated!

That's a different issue. People are doomposting and acting like they can't read the nuked manga anymore, as if they've been wiped off the internet. The updates thing is a different issue altogether and an actual problem, but it's separate from the question of actually reading existing chapters.

less attention it gets the better.

idk how much attention it gets from being listed 2nd best place to download manga in wotaku. but still pretty useless info if newfags can't get in lol

pump out official translations of the thousands of manga they’ve licensed

US only, paywalled, geofenced
a great help for the rest of the world

ones that were only uploaded to dex

Do those even exist? Don't the scrappers pretty much scrape anything new?

Still won't post it

it's like they were in a hurry to do something
and as usual, it does more hurt than help

I usually just do nyaa or tokyotosho. I'd love to know if there's better for faster/more complete raws but I occasionally find things I like just from taking what I can get.

The comments are absolute cancer.

Cool blogpost. Now tell me where I find raw CoroCoro magazine scans.

no raw manga on mangadex

nothing of value was lost

no idea, but i only were able to find some older and niche titles on dex in english, nowhere else

and where do you get your raws?

bro just move to Japan and buy the manga directly when it releases there

this is the dumbshit reductionism your argument ends up in. you have to start somewhere, you didn't wake up one morning knowing how to access obscure scanlated manga.

yeah, I might've given you a hint if it wasn't so fun to see you fail this hard in finding information yourself

sure, but show me a raw site that's as comprehensive and well-organized as md

get fucked turdie
you exist at our discretion

Almost everything on MD is findable in multiple, MULTIPLE other sites

Way to miss the point idiot.

But even when Anon Babble was "alive" you would never come across the name being directly used in a thread because people always wanted to treat it like a sekrit club anyway
It was never great for ongoing scanslated manga with new chapter releases anyway. And it's even worse now than it was in the past.
It's still good for official releases.... merely good though. Don't make it your primary source or you'll be months behind on shit that got torrents ages ago, as I learned the hard way.

fuck off, brainless loli-licking wetback

And how's that working out for them?

They do it everywhere no one counrty is going this hard against paying "Guests" when its contrary to their socio-cultural fabric as Japanese. Youtubers and the usual lot I'd understand but theres just too many regular people going they felt uncomfortable about hostile locals and unclear and unofficial area rules.

NTA or this anon but please someone answer

Got it, so you're just a troll who knows nothing at all. I accept your concession :)

No official scans rule.

I've primarily used this website for recommendations and discussion for coming up on 20 years now because this is the only place I talk about them, so yes.

There was literally only one good thing about mangadex and it was that it took tagging seriously and proudly allowed searching by loli or shota titles. It separated cross dressing from gender blender or whatever nontrap related crap.

MD never had them to begin with, so that doesn't address my point.

Not him, but have you tried DL-Raw? Most of the relevant manga magazines get ripped there.

How did I miss the point? Many anons are complaining that they cannot read such manga anymore, and I pointed out that, for most of them, they actually can.

Again?

Are there any loli titles you'd recommend? I read a lot of loli stuff but it's mostly eromanga.

No one is going to answer you because they themselves don't know and are just as lost as you. They're doing this stupid "other solutions exist!!1" psyop because they want people to go on wild goose chases. Notice how they just act smug and distant when you ask them for even the slightest bit of spoonfeeding? Le epic oldfag meme xD

if believing that makes you sleep better at night

I haven't tried TT much, but do they also have rare or hard-to-find manga? I know they have rare anime.

i guess they don't wanna pay and/or caught in copyright issues so they use local models, maybe

Still won't post it.

glad you noticed

the best way to read raw manga is just download it yourself and put it on Mihon

claim that there's a site that has all the answers

refuse to post it

Sekrit club culture has got to die.

my bad, this post was meant for

It needs to stay how it is and you need to lurk more, retard.

I want my shareblogs back
Every time I want to read a cool looking manga, I'll track down the scanlation team's blogspot on wayback, only for all the DL links to be lost because wayback doesn't save downloads from rapidshare

Maybe if sekrit club culture was alive Mangadex wouldn't have been DCMA'd

it's not a bad idea to upload shit like that to archive dot org and just hope it doesn't get taken down sometimes

NOOOO YOU CAN'T GATEKEEP ME EVEN THOUGH THIS IS THE MOST ENTRY-LEVEL TRIAL TO GET INTO THIS HOBBY

lmao

Most of the alt manga sites compress images. Mangadex doesn't and is also the main hub. Madokami doesn't and has official releases, along with being basically an archive. I wouldn't say /a worships madokami either, whenever it's brought up it's only mentioned how dead it is.

everything on the web is vulnerable to dmca jews. if you have obscure manga saved, chuck it on soulseek

I hate how mangadex labels futashit as "Girls Love". Dynasty doesn't do that, futa and yuri are two separate tags.

Library of Alexandria burns down

"LOL SHOULD HAVE GATEKEPT THE ROMAN EMPIRE"

Probably doesn’t exist because it would get taken down quickly. Usually I search on cat and hope something comes up.

It might be less xenophobia and more locals just being tired of catering to confused people that go into places without prior research. There are tourists to other countries that get beaten up for being at wrong place at wrong time, "feeling uncomfortable about unclear rules" is such a weird thing to get so upset about.

Not him, but have you tried DL-Raw? Most of the relevant manga magazines get ripped there.

I should probably lean harder on that to source the raws I read and maybe find some random stuff to TL. Is there anywhere that fills in gaps in what's there, like more esoteric stuff or web mag rips?

Hush, the MHA beggar artists guild will assassinate you

That's moving the goalpost. The issue wasn't about image quality, it was about being able to read the manga at all. And let's face it: probably 95% of manga readers don't even care if image quality is bad or not, they just want to read the manga.

That I'm not sure. But if it helps, it does have Corocoro.

Because when you search "read manga online" mangadex is the top result, and not only that but is just about the only result in the first page that isn't official.

This metaphor again

kek

Nips cracking down on anime piracy

controlling video game market standards with Nintendo Switch 2 pricing

increased import costs on general goods

Holy shit the East is cooking all of us so hard.

mangadex

Library of Alexandria

eh?

Pass the popcorn is the only library of Alexandria

ive seen other fags copying posts in this particular board too, dunno why, maybe weirdos or bots

Not really the air is charged with hatred towards youtubers and anyone with a bigass camera. Tour comapany packages are more expensive now but don't cover everything and its along these tour company areas that the locals are being hostile despite traffic and posting up tiny printed sheets on rules in at most korean and chinese other than japanese.

Library of Alexandria burns down

it's not that serious
what.cd on the other hand? Fuck, that was the Library of Alexandria.

Corocoro

thank god. you know how the japanese are with computers. i was afraid i was going to have to teach a toddler how to use a scanner

A common slogan on twitter

BTN too

Is the site actually at risk? Should I start, painfully, moving my library to a text document? The list is unironically what I care about the most, although it will suck not easily seeing updates anymore.

I get batoto mirrors though?

I'm more concerned with people barely uploading new chapters anymore. Guess it's time to just do something else for a few weeks

Out of curiosity, what specifically in Corocoro are you interested in? Is there something you want to translate?

mangadex gets nuked

one of the mangas I've been wanting more updates of got several chapters added on mangadex

I'm not sure how I feel but at least I got something to read.

move your list to MangaUpdates

A lot of interesting shilling tactics by mangadexfags.
I'm surprised they haven't used the

you don't even like manga

yet

By Mangadexfags are you talking about the doomposters, or the ones pointing out alternatives?

and what happens when DL-Raw gets slapped with a DMCA? you missed the point I was making.

I just don't understand why MY fucking secret website got nuked at the same time though. What did we do to you?

was about to get back into reading manga

see this shit

or the ones pointing out alternatives?

those are not fags, they are practical chads that look for solutions. I'm talking about the doomkeks

This happened with a couple things I've been reading too. I wondered if it was from people who rely on Mangadex for visibility tossing a bunch of stuff up in hopes of shoring it up and proving it's still alive.

MD doesn't have raws anyway so that's not an issue. As for DL-Raw going down, it's not even the source for the raws, the actual source is a sekrit club Telegram. Multiple sites get from that Telegram, not just DL-Raw.

Normalshitters are killing anime and manga as a hobby.

You know what? I should probably do that. I already use the site from time to time to check authors, it's pretty solid.

And that's a good thing!

What the fuck do we do now?

I guess it's time for me to (re-)undertake the Sisyphean task of learning the Nihongo tongue by practicing 30 minutes every forenoon via the use of the holy Anki app.

I genuinely don't know if anons are joking, or are dead serious, when they act as if non-MD manga sites don't exist.

and what happens when Telegram gets slapped with a DMCA? you missed the point I was making.

The last time I opened their Discord server, one of the mods (Zephyr or something) literally posted a picture of his real face. I wouldn't be surprised if the site goes down anytime soon, since their OPSEC is nonexistent and they dox themselves all the time on Discord.

He isn't interested in anything. He just wants to shill mangadex and this is the script he was given.

I don't get your point. Are you trying to say that everything can be DMCA'd? There are multiple solutions to that:
1. Just keep moving and reincarnating. That's what happened pre-MD and that's what will happen again once MD dies.
2. Host the site in a country that doesn't recognize the DMCA or doesn't respond to such requests.
3. Embrace decentralization, as suggested by others. Make a decentralized service where a DMCA cannot take down everything.

I haven't seen it TT.

If there's no ebook available the chances that you'd have gotten translations are next to none. And there's a lot of old obscure titles with a digital release.

I'm lucky the series I'm reading survived

has happened before and will happen again
stop getting complacent and back up your shit with torrents and multiple backups
member when batoto died
member when nyaa died
member when so many other sites died

What do you guys use to track what you've read? I'd like something a little more robust than a random local file, and preferably it'd be something that does it automatically or makes it easy to remember to update. I've gotten lazy with MD because it's been so effortless.

Why can’t Mangadex ignore the DMCAs just like Mangasee/Weebcentral?

IMG_6873.png - 955x583, 27.97K

Hopefully the next big war distracts the governments of the world enough to stop cracking down on manga websites.

There is really no point when they all scrape from dex unless scanlators start uploading to multiple sites

just like there's a dozen alts to MD, who all get their scanlations from telegram and IRC and discord groups
see what I mean? you're engaging in pointless elitism when you try and claim raws are somehow isolated from what happened to MD.

rope immediately

The raw scans scene sucks.
This site is probably the best for magazines but they use those file hosting sites that live and die like a breath so if you want something from like 2012 it was probably using megaupload and, well...
manga-zip.is/

from the start these assholes were never trying to actually be real.
the retarded "mobile" design
promoting "official" simuls
not hosting most stuff in the first place.
fucking WESTERN WEB COMICS.
good riddance.

Future chapters will be a problem, but past chapters are still out there. If the issue is people not being able to work on their backlog, that is not an issue at all since they can still easily read old chapters elsewhere.

DL_RAW watermarks everything and putting that in translate is hell

you're engaging in pointless elitism

I'm literally fighting elitism here by spoonfeeding sites and criticizing Madokami and its cult.

Unironically just use a text file, or if you want better formatting get a markdown editor so you can do tables and checklists and stuff.
The biggest mistake I ever made was joining a dozen websites just to catalog media.

Some things I downloaded here also had a dl-raws watermark

The deliberate transparency was the point. Dex tried to play nice with publishers by doing things like having a no official scams policy, not allowing early uploads of leaked chapters, timely response to DMCAs of more popular series, linking to official release channels etc.
But apparently that isn't enough to stop them from getting fucked over. Now nobody will even think about playing nice with publishers since they burned any good will they had with this

a Spreadsheet

who cares
its called Anon Babble for a reason, not Anon Babble

not allowing early uploads of leaked chapters

Is that why Black Cat Scanlations created Catmanga, only for that to come crashing down thanks to Ryo and Shounen no Abyss?

MD is run by literal discord trannies, that's why.

Ever since the recent update of the manga reader I'm using gave it the same keyboard shortcuts as mangadex I've basically stopped using that slow-ass website, so all in all nothing of value was lost

just uh
remember?

No it is also about image quality. That's one of the reasons dex became the central hub for scans.

What the fuck are you talking about?

hello newfag

Its also been around for like 20 years with no downtime.

Maybe? Or they held back on uploading to be nice to the authors and are just going "fuck it" after the hammer went down on mangadex.

some of which aren't available any other site

Why do people keep repeating this complete lie? Every single manga that was on Mangadex is on practically every aggregator site, or on Nyaa, or on Madokami. If you're lazy and retarded and can't use a browser to find it, that's a you problem.

that time the site went down and stayed down for months there were some scan groups who sat on their thumbs until it came back up
the main problem with the purge is those groups might just stop entirely...or go burrow in to some discord sekrit club where they'll scam for Patreon bux even harder

mangaupdates

i thought the whole point of the internet was that its impossible to take down something. Just reupload somewhere else?

It took a long time until CoroCoro got a digital version and it's the second biggest manga magazine.
My guess would be that he wasn't aware it has been digitally available since 2022.

Ok.... Im uploading right nao to KASUGEBAROKO.xyz. its invite only btw! you can join if you're my best friend of 15 years and above!

Save the things you like locally, with at least
one backup if you're smart.
You like a doujinshi? Save it Exh might get killed any time.
Enjoyed a manga? Save it so you don't have to deal with this bullshit.
Loved a anime? Save the best quality version or risk only having a shitty re-encode available to you when you want to watch it again.

Why they can't just host their shit in countries outside of DMCA? Or IP-ban US and make some panda tier registration if you want to avoid IP-ban? Are zoomers stupid?

Saving doujinshi off sp is pretty easy since there are downloaders that work, unlike the mangadex downloaders

It took a long time until CoroCoro got a digital version

Yeah that was stupid. I get that their target audience was largely children, but that's no excuse. Do you also remember when the Kiraras didn't have digital versions either? Digital Kiraras weren't things until Fuz was launched.

Or I'll keep living a carefree life and if these things do end up getting lost my life will still be overall happier from sparing the effort and not stressing out.

would mangadex be saved if it became invite only?

How come no one made something a bit off grid on the internet - the one piece of pirate islands

at first I thought Mangasee got DMCA'd and thats why Weebcentral became a thing, but he just wanted to upgrade the site and change the name at the same time like a gangsta

bro from Russian /ma/ made shared account

it was nuked

It was like 7 years ago but I'm still sad.

invite only

Nah this is cancer.

or go burrow in to some discord sekrit club where they'll scam for Patreon bux even harder

It really doesn’t matter. Someone will upload those to every single Mangadex alternative, just like what happened when the site went down for months. People are severely overestimating the value of MD in current year, it’s not Sadpanda.

Every single manga that was on Mangadex is on practically every aggregator site

This

Good. fuck piracy, go buy official manga and support the authors
If you disagree you're literal waste of oxygen

I would expect such doomposting comments on maybe Reddit or Twitter, but Anon Babble? Fucking Anon Babble? I'm so disappointed.

not to mention most manga isnt even on mangadex in the first place because they takedown everything themselves

sure pal, show me the site where i can subscribe for manga to read, affordably, with fast updates, akin to steam, crunchy, etc.
oh, if it works only in the us, then fuck yourself

doesnt SadPanda take down a ton of shit too because of Fakku? I hate it when I go check my favorites for soemthing and its suddenly gone...

It does, same with Nhentai. However, there are multiple Fakku ripper sites, so if something is missing on Sadpanda or Nhentai, try those sites. I could say what they were, but I genuinely can't remember the name.

Bro, most of those pirating are underage. You're the problem.

And every aggregator site also has a lot of stuff that simply isn’t on Mangadex, since they rip manga from official sources. The only real issue with those sites is the aggravating ads, but that’s easily circumvented by using Tachiyomi or similar apps. Reading in a browser in the current year is beyond retarded. The only thing Mangadex getting a DMCA really showed is that a lot of people are simply too lazy or too stupid to browse the internet for alternatives.

I remember the other Manga Time series only getting digital versions in 2022 and being exclusive to FUZ.
There's still some Takeshobo magazines like Kindai Mahjong, Gekiman Special, Manga Life Original or Honto ni Atta Yukai na Hanashi that still don't have one.

They can ignore Daiz but they obey.

Hitomi is usually where I got if I'm just looking for something that got taken down although the site is pretty cancerous layout wise. The things you do for a good fap

Why is this a big deal? There’s other sites with the same amount of chapters and titles as mangadex. Just get scanslators to post new chapters to one of those websites.

What I hate about Hitomi is that it's virtually unusable on mobile, even with an adblocker. It really sucks: most of these manga sites have ads where it's impossible to even move or press anything without a million popups coming up. And before anyone asks: in some cases it happens even with an adblocker. For example, Rawkuma has ads that manage to show up even when you have uBlock enabled.

The sad thing is that a lot of Kirara manga never got digital volumes and so are essentially lost media these days.

Yeah I never read manga in browser. I just use neko to rip everything. Or use meguka

Why didn't they upload it anywhere else? Do they translate it for money? I always thought it was hobby and passion.

did you notice that md only carries translated manga?

why cant scanulators just go on neocities and mirrior their shit on pixeldrain and mega?

subscribe

It doesn't work like this you faggot. Buy the volumes or the magazines or get fucked

You can generate more (You)s if you make twitter screencap thread

yeah its pure cancer but only out of desperation. Get in, coom, get out

Mangadex website that I have bookmarked removed illegal content that I read?

WHY!?

I shouldn't have to pay!

I shouldn't have to ask!

I shouldn't have to look!

I shouldn't have to wait!

I shouldn't have to DO ANYTHING to GET EVERYTHING!

RIGHT NOW!!!

And do NOT tell me I'm wrong!! That's evil and you're stupid!!

Why are people SO INCONSIDERATE of me!?!?

Corn.jpg - 1600x1035, 688.15K

spotted another corpo shill

It doesn't work like this you faggot. create a site that lets me subscribe volumes or the magazines or get fucked

sharty

At least it still works.
Plenty of other sites like imhentai now force you to register to read a locked work.
Brave helps cut down lots of ads on hitomi, if you can tolerate it.

You asked for a site that allows you to subscribe to manga:

affordably,

with fast updates,

akin to steam, crunchy, etc.

works outside the US.

You didn't say anything about translations. There's a lot of games on Steam that don't have translations either.

>but their UI sucks!

Mangdex's UI is bloat

unusable on mobile,

Good.

Anon Babble thinks they're too good for the non-sekrit club aggregators

Man I wish "mangakakalot" didn't get nuked as well. Sure it's up again under a new domain, but it has so many duplicates of different series and other annoying problems now.

Is that poster from there? Educate me on internet cancer.

that lets me subscribe volumes

Like automatically buying the volumes when they come out? You can do that on Bookwalker, even the global version.

I deserve everything I want.

And YOU better do the work FOR me.

Otherwise... I'll post on the Internet about my feelings!

i meant to compare the ease of access, size of library

corpo shill

says the faggot that wants subscriptions for everything

Better official author shill than a mangadex shill kekaroo

Do they translate it for money?

What is it like not to deal with hordes of SEAshits from Jakarta or Manila who know neither Japanese nor English but still set up patreon scams and paid websites with paywalled trash translations blatantly using MTL because even a single sucker giving them 5 dollars is enough to feed them and their families for a week?

Based SEAGODS.

nah, that's not the same
not you, the content/ip owners, instead of scary tactics using dmca
that's the current standard, so why not
huh?

does mangaupdates update about new chapters japanese chapters or is there an equivalent?

I thought MD banned those types of scanlators

if you're reading new chapters in Japanese in the first place I'd probably just use one of those Japanese manga apps and subscribe otherwise I dont know where you'd even find them uploaded

MD cracks down on for-profit scanlation

half the site gets nuked shortly after

Good

Why do so few sites accommodate reading with facing pages? I refuse to read by vertical scrolling.

that a lot of Kirara manga never got digital volumes and so are essentially lost media these days.

There's still a chance they'll get one later. For instance meth e meth that originally ran in Forward got a re-relase by Kadokawa under their Harta Comix label.

bookmarks
if I don't remember to check then I either wasn't interested in the story enough or I can remember it later when there's even more chapters to read

I've read the forum thread and laught my ass off. The audacity of these people is insane. It's the Toshio Sako situation all over again. It's like they care more about a shitty scanlation site than manga as a whole, then come up with ridiculous reasons why they don't support official releases. A series being unlicenced doesn't make it less illlegal to distribute online. Everyone knows this.

Is it bad that they DMCAd all these series? Yes. But this was bound to happen. It's nothing special or something to cry over.

Honestly I can't take anyone seriously who holds scanlations to the same standard as reading a official release/printed volume. Scanlations are fine to check out a series for a couple of chapters to see if you like it or not. Other than that they are mostly unreliable and the majoirty is low quality garbage made by weeaboos. Not to mention all the AI slop that has been plaguing these sites in recent years.

I don't track anything anymore except for VNs

MangaUpdates is often horribly out of date or flat out wrong.
Learn the magazine release dates and the update schedules for web manga sites.
They normally come out at midnight in Japan.

Its huuuuge so long as its digital

In countries outside of DMCA reach they can just bribe police to fuck hoster up however they want.

It kinda does bruh. Viz and most of the others have a system like the Japanese version where you could subscribe. Back when only select wsj titles were released as a magazine it was literally called subscription.

I'm genuinely surprised that Mangadex didn't go the Sadpanda route and host in a remote country that doesn't recognize DMCAs.

If you propose that then the next reply is

but what about this obscure title huh? I can't subscribe to that

Because they're just shilling mangadex

I read their forum thread. Shame they are recommending not uploading chapters from series that have been hit. I guess it's time for new site if they really keep this up

Because they're mostly scrappers used by technologically illiterate mobiletards who don't even know what adblockers are

I refuse to read by vertical scrolling.

Switch to a local reader. Once I did that myself I could never go back, having double pages and right-to-left as default no matter the site I used was a godsend

that's the current standard, so why not

Currently, the standard is "you don't get your pirated manga aggregator site."
Now.
Currently.
It's standard.
It's the current standard.

I use a local reader as well, but it's more convenient to check out new stuff if I don't first have to scrape things myself.

How fucking new are people here? This always happens with every iteration of Mangadex and it's gone through like 3-4 name changes
.but muh project Anidex in 2018
Stop being new, wait a while and another iteration of it will be up and ran by the same people and publishers will ignore them once again until they get too big and too popular as always.

Guys!
Crime is legal!

website takedowns

WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!?

umm.gif - 220x220, 341.62K

I am not proposing. Stating. Its been officially there since two decades and was literally "subscribe".

'member Mangafox?

I love the catalog it has but mangaupdates with their lists not having thumbnails fucking kills me. It's hard to browse through the lists with just the story name and no thumbnails to help. It sucks.

Mangapanda does

This post is unavailable due to a copyright claim by Irodori Comics.
Sorry about that.

For me, it was kissmanga

Weeb got hit too

how do I get past the sad panda screen?

It's back already

Why don't WE (Anon Babble) make an alternative hosted in a non-cucked country and ignore the dcmas?

Yeah, I love pages being arbitrarily removed too.

?
sadpanda take down shitload of stfuf from fakku & irodori

We live in cyberpunk...

if everyone's waiting, no one's gonna create anything

We need Anon Babble's technical expertise of designing logos.

we dont need to, theres another a dozen alternatives

Wow if only Anon Babble had its own way to make sure nothing like the last time a manga site got nuked ever happens again.
Wait fuck nevermind it's dead and abandoned and nobody even remembers it anymore. Let's just put all our eggs into the next basket, what could possibly keep going wrong?

The owners of Mangadex have already had everything backed up and plans to create a new website if Mangadex every went down, not like this hasn't happened before. The OG site was Batoto after all, before it also got taken down with DMCA strikes when it got too big and too known at the time.

What happened to madokami?

Call it m/a/ngadex to add salt on the wound

The owners of Mangadex

create a new website

lmao create the same law-aboding shit?

We need something P2P that can't get taken down.

keep torrents alive for now, so many die off

Except I don't get a robot arm so I'm still tired after jerking for 3 hours.

All my favorite BL manga is still there though. All except one (Raul and The Vampire) but they are somewhere else too so...

This another case of Dex admins overreacting and purging thousands of hours of work for no reason?

so many words, yet saying nothing

nah
the current standard is people being increasingly retarded on Anon Babble

see a manga on Anon Babble

add it on mal "plan to read"

read it on any mangasite, it's unfinished and TL is slow

Anon Babble makes a thread about a new chapter

that's how they post, so %99 shitery spammer but looks like it missed the $0yj@k

another iteration

... that gets a copypasta of the current dmca in a month after inception
we need actual paid service from the ip holders that's able to replace sites like md never happening, the owners are retarded fucks
or other forms of distro, like getting used to torrent everything again

Those tards usually paywall all of their shit to make a profit off of it, it's not like this isn't a known thing they do

If you lurk Anon Babble as much as you should, in a variety of threads, you actually do find a lot of good manga among the shit.

You mistake was reading KDT scans to begin with. Greedy cunts

for a good reason

do people actually read on mangadex? I just read manga on Mihon and pick whatever aggregator comes up first

that's not the point retard

where do you think the aggregators get their chapters from

from scanlators

Lurking is a massive time sink and not worth it. The hack made that exceedingly clear.

and?

cmoa

bookwalker

anisearch

following mangaka and publishers on twitter

looking up magazines and what series were published over the years

There is a saying about eggs and baskets that I daresay would be rather apt right now for scanlator gtoups to spend a few moments ruminating on.

kill yourself, zoomer

Oh wow. Good thing I don't read manga, I guess.

Why do scanlators want me to go to their Discords?

The shit thing is there is no COUNCIL OF SCANLATORS to decide on where to upload to. Not only are we likely going to have to go back to the old days of checking multiple places for our manga but it's going to take a while before we even know what the norm will be. I have no idea where guys who didn't have a website or anything aside from an MD page will update the manga they scanlate or even if they will continue. It's going to be a lot of work lurking enough to keep abreast of the situation and most of us aren't NEETs with unlimited free time any longer.

So they can rape you.

Kitakawa still up

All is well, I don't know what you're all making such a fuss about.

let's go.png - 683x623, 323.26K

There does seem to have been a big slowdown over the last few days, which is not surprising.

And nothing of value was lost.

ITT: Stupid mother fucking retarded faggots who learned nothing from the past tens years of this shit happening over and over again and will continue to rely on one centralized open web source that is venerable to DCMA instead of using IRC like people with actual braincells.

Nope.

The funny thing is how much Anon Babble worships Madokami despite being so incomplete especially for newer stuff,

because Anon Babble is full of old men who remember when it used to be good

they now hate all tourists even other asians

The japanese were always fare more racist against other asians than they were against americans

I remember mangatraders, it feels like a lifetime ago.

They're killing all hobbies.

What was the progression again?
mangafox -> batoto -> managadex
I actually forgot what was before that

do you think they can just wait for this to blow over and quietly re-up everything that was lost? or is it deleted off the site forever?

Was that the one that stored passwords weakly and then got hacked?

It's like they care more about a shitty scanlation site than manga as a whole

No one cares about manga. It's all about "translator this, translator that", "I need to subscribe to the latest translator!", "*insert ragebait about translators*".
zoomers treat them as if they were youtubers.

all of the super obscure manga I want to read isnt scanned anywhere

yeah if it's not an ongoing manga where you are caught up so you can read the latest chapters for free it's a big pain.

I don't disagree. The average joe will still go directly for the easiest avaiable source, but scanlators really should know better and just let the unknown middleman spread their works

That's not the current standard though. There are still dozens of sources of manga piracy.

Hey, I'm pausing uploads indefinitely! Instead of saying why in the credit pages of the two manga I scanlate, you can just my discord to learn why! :)

I hate discord so fucking much

Just a temporary hiccup, it will be back to normal in "a couple weeks". They'll turn registrations on again and the site will be alive.

file last modified 2018-01-26 05:12

Maybe it was a good trade after all.

It's joever.

reading manga on a 5 inch phone screen

They've been open for years. It's just that Nyaa is more than enough for the most part. Madokami is basically just a Nyaa archive at this point since it's long stopped getting fan translations

Pretty sure onemanga came before batoto. Mangafox was always a scammy aggregator.

Didn't Mangatraders have high-quality uploads like Batoto and Mangadex?

they're throwing out and insulting actual tourists

surely this is unprovoked

Mark the ones that are licensed

Imagine unironically making this list.
Just post on Google "X manga online" and if Mangadex doesn't work then go to the second result

retard

nta but seeing some of the artists opinions on twitter theres a lot of prejudice and discomfort over over-crowding

Mangadex *does* work, a lot of the recently uploaded chapter or non-english chapters are still unpurged but the rest of the chapters are all gone. Wiped out.

weakest bait itt. cant even compete with rajesh

Oh no. How terrible.

kek

It's more about the scanlators potentially dropping this series and stop uploading. We will have to see.

Always save things, like how I saved this classic that was deleted from Youtube.

Ironically fitting.

they felt uncomfortable about hostile locals and unclear and unofficial area rules.

I'm going to bet clueless Americans (or Indians) that somehow lack the basic social ability to look at what (native) people around you are doing and follow suit. If you paid attention and were polite I never had any problem anywhere.

You got only Kindaichi Case Files on the list, but there were more nuked.
Kindaichi 37-sai no Jikenbo
Kindaichi Case Files Gaiden: Casebook of Criminal Offenders
Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo - Case series

Could've gone my whole without seeing that. Thanks, I guess.

iirc the last one had equivalent untranslatable zoomer slang in japanese because the sketchy dude was isekaijin just fucking around.

actually fucking wild how summer tourists just come here to Anon Babble every couple years or so and cry about the exact same thing every single fucking time kek

This was our holy egg in the manga basket

thats what you retards get for not using torrents

43248575479.jpg - 810x780, 69.8K

most of Anon Babble are gen z retards who read manga on their phones

Is learning the language going to help if you can't conveniently access raws online though?

titter or [blank]? whats the hidden word from that thread you totally didnt make

same thing happens every 2-3 years or so for the past 20 years

"THIS TIME ITS FOR REAL THOUGH!!!!!!!"

kek

kek

kek!

Way I see the context of the original post from which everyone is going off topic and may get bans for, just warning you folks, is Are foreigners entitled to what Japan doesn't want them to have access to? The government obviously wants tourists otherwise they'd not approve so many visas but most people have memed to death how nips are xenophobic and hating mutt and pajeet tourists in twitter and here. And going by several nips on twitter- the nips are gloating about mangadex's purge too by the way- they don't like a legitimate buisness like tourism by foreigners either so why would they willingly try to spread that culture wave the government pushes for? Be it radio or TV or manga or anime or movies, piracy is the way to go. Japan and Korea got worldwide popularity so a lot of legitimate avenues exist but for works of so many other countries the same level of availability doesn't exist.Even public libraries have limited options. The internet is the vast ocean. And if privateers revealeing ai tricks are ruining the seas...

Batoto went down like 7 years ago.

This happened on Thursday or something. Luckily what I was reading was available on other sites.

Fact of the matter is, public raws just suck.

It's not that easy to track 200-500 manga and download the chapters upon release when you need to visit 50 different IRC channels and don't have one reliable website with a UI to tell you when there's a release. Especially when you can't just expect RSS to take care of it because 75% of these scanlators don't even have a blog anymore and are essentially homeless now that MD is all but dead.

I liked IRC, blogs, DDL, XDCC and MU with links but I read like 1/4 of the manga then that I follow now. Being able to come home, throw my ass down, grab my tablet refresh an app to tell me what was new on Mangadex and feel assured that 90%+ of all manga scanlated would be uploaded there are so show up on my app was so nice. All I really had to do was keep tabs on stuff that was dropped due to official Eng releases and download those manually elsewhere.

I am not complaining, I'm just a leech. I am lamenting, though.

I recommend using something like pic related to back up any title you think might get deleted next

dude, that was only like 3 years ago.

Do you have to manually select 1 place, see if anything shows up and keep going from there?
It says bookmarks, but I can't bookmark anything unless I'm blind

submit it to the form application on the mangadex massacre spreadsheet. They are still missing quite a few.
didn't bookwalker change a lot of terms and conditions?

I wish it was for real this time and somebody did something about it. I would actually contribute a couple TB disk space @ uncapped gigabit if we are talking some kind of distributed storage.

Japanese manga are cheaper and you don't have to wait for the translation, which sometimes comes years after the original work. As for free raws, I've heard that they're indeed difficult to find.

Is there anything like Mihon for PC anyway? Other than installing it on Bluestacks or something.

click on here, go to mangadex wait for the list to load (takes a while the first time) then select a manga and click the star to add it to your personal list.

aggregator le bad

also, using irc is so hard.. I wanted someone to put all the stuff and, well, "aggregate" it in one place.. bro...

I tried to today because I am too tech illiterate to sort out the latest Java whateverthefuck on my linux toaster so Red Sqauirrel didn't want to rip from Weeb or mangapark or something (I wanted decent quality) and holy shit it's a pain in the ass compared to the RS manga downloader. And it just failed at 11 out of 49 chapters.

Because other sites scrape from MD which is where uploaders post their uploads.
Now there's no central upload site. Go to almost any other manga site, there's no upload button because they're entirely scrapers.
Uploaders that don't have their own website don't know where to put their releases now so hundreds of series are in limbo until a new central place to upload for scrapers to scrape is agreed upon.

Mangadexという海外版漫画村が削除されたことに対して、アホの外人どもが「日本は海外の人に漫画を読ませる気がないのが腹立つ」みたいな意見多いし何万良いねとか付いててまじでキモいわ

I'm not paying for manga

one can only hope...

I've still never signed up for any of these sites after what.cd died.

Ok, so loading the list is still a per-aggregator basis, but after that if you have bookmarks it's simple

picrel didn't upload

picrel.png - 647x754, 330.86K

this is only half true, gaijin really ought to just learn jp by now anyway sure,
but if you consider most people dont know jp, there is literally no way for EOPs to read some manga so in that case the dumb gaijin are right

Just opened the website. If it did go down, then it's back up now. At least for me anyway.

"What's the problem there's aggregators" is a retarded reddit take though.
The real power of MD is/was letting random people upload their translations with minimal barrier to entry. Anon Babblenon translates a chapter or two, they or somebody else takes it and sticks it on MD, and it's there for everybody. All that stuff is gonna go where now? a million separate faggy discords, shitty blogspot sites, random torrents? None of that stuff is going to be available after a year or two.

i do this

smugsonya.png - 306x324, 119.39K

member when nyaa died

Don’t you just need a database index and a code to keep it up?

This is their other tweetNah thing is I mean gaijin are doing is theft. Colleges look the other way when you pirate a book or download a paper from the not-correct but free route, but the nihonjin are too anally law abiding. Same does apply to things like manga or dvds. If you import them off mercari they wouldn't mind even though the author and publisher won't see a dime because its legal but reading so many books for free is not legal per se. In the anal legal sense, its a difference in cultural perception so dude is fully right. Rest of the world meanwhile believe in freedom of certain things and are more sensitive about the correct skin tones.

image.png - 418x825, 345.33K

This pretty much, the only reason I've bothered to upload my stuff anywhere besides here is because MD let me do it with minimal fuss.

its one thing if the manga is at all sold in eng, but a lot of fanscans arent officially TL'd or licensed abroad at all
hence there no actual legal way for EOPs to read them

If you import them off mercari they wouldn't mind even though the author and publisher won't see a dime because its legal

There was a whole discussion about this in a previous thread. About how they would totally mind and that buying second hand is frowned upon, precisely because the author doesn't see a dime from it.

reality: a bunch of shitters upload one-page pixiv webcomics or facebook shit for updoots

Just upload that on booru. I don't care if there's a barrier of entry for uploaders.

Danbooru at least sucks ass for uploads.

The mental gymnastics people will do to justify centralization despite being shown over and over and over and over and over and over and over again it is bad.

How is this related to what I posted

What do YOU want?
Then, how about, YOU do it?

You all are children.
You're want everything that is inherently a paid product (understandable)... and you are demanding it for free! Right now! Delivered to you! Any sort of failure is someone else's fault and you scream about it!

No.
Pay for what you want.
If you learn Japanese, you won't have to wait for translations! You'll have more available! And it would be 1/3rd the price you're used to paying!
If you're adamant that what you read should be shared, and free, but also to people who don't understand kanji, hiragana, katakana and and also only to the people YOU want to enjoy it... then translate it for them! Invite them over to your home or convention or YMCA or beach or church or Base Exchange or classroom and share it with them!

Anon, tl;dr

and you're asking me to do work

no

i don't want to

i only care about me

You epitomize what's wrong with your society.
Build yourself. Build your family. Build your community. Work towards being everything you need, then want. Ostracize the people who refuse to cooperate. Refuse your help from the people you see only steal and drain; demand they leave.
Discover how DOING positive things will make you, and everyone around you, so much more positive!!
Discover how BEING positive things will make you, and everyone around you, so much better!!

You sound like a jerk

Positive behavior is so obviously a benefit. Its only downside is it takes your investment. But, the return on your investment WONDERFULLY outweighs the time and energy.
So choose GOOD, POSITIVE behaviors!
Make GOOD, POSITIVE decisions!
We'll ALL be happier!

It's better than dex.

Because some faggot gatekeeps what is allowed and what is not?

So...same as dex?

it's funny how everyone will look down at you for streaming anime but then claim that having to download every mango chapter from a torrent or the scanlator's website is too difficult. how many times will people have to be punished for centralizing in the name of convenience before they learn their lesson? the tears when steam finally goes down will be enough to require a second noah's ark.

Ai is going to make fan translations obsolete in a decade.

Maybe because each season of anime has like 30 series of which you only watch like 5-10. I follow hundreds of manga

In all honesty, with as little as I use the Internet, I think I would be genuinely happy to see it destroyed.
At least for consumer-type users. I fully appreciate business/work models using the Internet for their trades.

The average person should NOT be using the Internet for their "convenience." I'm 38-years-old and I can already see what extreme exaggerations have taken place, and how so-much-lower a person's behavior has fallen. I can completely understand how my parents, and grandparents, saw all this technology improvement and ease-of-access and thought

this is convenient

but the people using it are awful

and it's getting worse...

Humans aren't meant to pandered to. The result is obviously disgusting.

Anal legal: In which case you don't. Its more your feelings about manga that make you crave that entertainment but if you aren't getting it legally you aren't getting it legally. So those who think its okay will find it okay but those that don't even break queues won't. For example hypothetically Mash was banned in Korea for a long time but say you get it on vhs, bring it to Korea somehow and watch it yourself. But then you distribute it to everyone by dubbing the vhs and making it available to everyone who wants to see. It now depends on if the local military government gets wind of you or you can keep at it for years. This example was hypothetical but irl in my country we didn't have rental video stores or library rentals. Instead there was a cheap services even in legit stores where the pirated, copied tapes or discs were available for a pittance or distributed from person to person for free. This is how my uncle's local film club saw most of Kurosawa movies. But that is if it is culturally okay. But say someone did report the local store to the police and they chose to crackdown on it, things would change. And many would criticize. And things will go back to how things were and no respectable person flaunts in public, like you think the film club ever admit they were using a pirated disc which even looked like thye generic rewritable disc? One is not obnliged to hunt down ones insatiable thirst for knowledge neither is it free(fees?) but when ones to and if one has no such hard and fast beliefs about the thing, one does. And manga isn't even knowledge its wanton entertainment. You get the drift.

Fucking read you god damn retard. Nobody said it went down, but well over 1k series were DMCA'd and are now missing all or most of their chapters.

This has been happening for almost 15 years now. A whole ass generation has lived through this and not fucking learned. A lot of these "scanlators" don't even operate their own website, blog, IRC, or tracker. You can bet you ass they have a fucking discord though.

As a scanlator for two mangas with 250+ chapters fully translated by myself and myself alone (and half a dozen others in small amounts)...

...I completely agree with this. It's true.

I translated for 10 years, now, as a hobby. I enjoyed to doing it! Because I translated with I liked! I never, ever asked for praise or payment. I still don't, and I won't.
But wow, AI is removing any need for my involvement. It already does it 17000% faster than I do, and soon, better than me, too.

tl;dr japanese people are massive lawfags as "payment" for their high trust society
got it

I don't know if you're being ironic, but AI translation for my main use case, hentai, is already pretty much to the point where it gets the point across. It will continue to get better and better, just like how most AI can now reliably draw a hand or a wine glasses filled to various levels. If you are a legit translator who does it for money, I would advise you to quickly get on board the "ai proofreading" train that will show up for a few years. Where you just read AI translations to make sure they make sense.

MAL users who have 1000 anime that are all short OVAs

(You) follow 6-panel pixiv webcomics and call it a "manga"

Same thing. I browsed danbooru once that means I've read a hundred thousands of manga btw.

Nope they won't and they literally don't precisely because they do it themselves. Theres no good nip fans and bad nip fans, they are all japanese fans living and breathing and while some recycle, others resell. Gaijin resellers are rare ones, most are japanese themselves reselling newly purchased volumes with bonues. If the argument was valid then overpriced of voting tickets from magazines or limited merch and reselling would have been cracked down upon and dealt with in their own land. Shueisha loves that their sales boost or else they'd have shut it down despite everything being in the open. Thats why it is hypocritical and more a marketing thing about hypothetical overseas markets and losses.

It isn't irony, and I only "scan"lated for funsies; I'm not a professional translator.
And, again, I agree with you. AI currently obliterates the need for full-paid translation services of Japanese manga into English due to its inarguably truthful results and the mind-bogglingly FAST speed it can produce it... all (currently) for free and from your home.

I truly wonder what will happen to the "Western market" considering Japanese comics in the coming years. It's basically the epitome of "I won't buy it, I'll just download everything, immediately, for free."

It's almost as if the alternative isn't worth the hassle

this is pure adhd/speedwatcher brainrot. how the hell do you even keep track of the plot of 500 different stories? imagine going to a library and reading a different chapter from 500 different books every day. this kind of behavior is only possible because adding another series to your read list is as easy as checking a box on your convenient website. if you were actually reading physical books or even having to download each chapter like an anime episode you would be limiting yourself to the series you are most interested in engaging with, not whatever popped up in some feed and caught your attention for the 15 seconds required to add it to your list.

they do it themselves

Yes, but supposedly, they could never admit to this. A "honne vs tatemae" kinda thing.
Well, I don't know what's true. But in terms of hearsay about this, it's 1-1.

ongoing

follow

inb4 half a dozen pixiv single page series and another half a dozen already finished series on my list make the rest of 500+ titles not count

The instant you said "voting" I immediately began hoping that at some point there needs to be a test to determine who is genuinely qualified to make life & market changing decisions for a nation.

Want to make important decisions?
Prove you're qualified to make important decisions.

It's a hassle to use a tracker

It's a hassle to make an IRC server

It's a hassle to blog

All of these things can be done in under 120 seconds. How fucked is the current generation when it comes to tech literacy? Do these retards even know how to make a gmail account?

Do these retards even know how to make a gmail account?

They maka a new one with every new phone they get.

How fucked is the current generation when it comes to tech literacy?

I'm no joking when I tell you "very." They cannot even refill their prescription using "tech." Call the pharmacy to refill a prescription??? HOW!? They cannot take 120 seconds to get what they literally SCREAM for, and become outright violent they don't get it.

Do these retards even know how to make a gmail account?

I'm not kidding when the interns I've seen coming to my workplace, these days, genuinely don't know how to "log in" to a computer or how to "open an application." I'm not joking, even "double-clicking" is more niche for kids, these days, than what they're used to on their iPhones.

It's absurd.

Punchline.jpg - 1403x2000, 1.33M

You're so stupid it's sad. But that goes for all boomers so don't feel too bad.

Can't make an IRC server

Can't make a blog

Can't make a tracker

Can't make an email

I'm amazed you can even use Anon Babble. Or did you pay to skip the capctha? Did you use a youtube guide played back at 200% speed for that lmao?

Manga is cheap to buy, especially digital if you wait for campaigns and coupons.
Many scanlatios were made with crappy public raws, some edited the watermarks out, others didn't even bother with that.

Big Tech has never had a more prime userbase for total control. Goddamn. We're fucked when these shits start running things.

The point is that doing those things introduces friction without doing anything to improve the experience for the reader or the scanlator. Multiply that friction by however many different outlets one needs to use to get all the content they want, and it's hardly surprising that people say "fuck that". The proof is in the pudding: there's a reason people keep flocking to new centralized services when the old ones go down, instead of seeing the light and switching to decentralized alternatives. Centralization is a service problem.

Good, access to the Japanese is not a human right, Europeans should adopt the same attitude.

german cucks

of course

how are the pic and the post related? Is it something only twitterfags would know?

newfags first manga site apocalypse

Settle down, sport. Once you've seen this happen half a dozen times like I have it stops being exciting.

Well, I'm not waiting 10 years so I'll learn Japanese

Remember Niggastream?

They'll also shit on dubfags and then proceed to consume the manga equivalent.
Make a rec thread for anime and get banned, make one for manga and countless users will pick up whatever gets posted.
The attitudes and levels of elitism between anime and manga are so different, you'd think it's two user groups without overlap.

It seems Ichijinsha titles are safe.

if all manga was free companies would make trillions
