She's stupid, and maybe she is looking for some thrills, but it's seeing the injustice that gets her to jack the Zaku and then Gundam. Also, she kicked the cop in the nuts because she was already biased against the cops over their actions in episode 01. Her character development has been going the wrong way, but there's a seed of a hero in her, more so than Shuji and Nyaan.

There is a genuine kernel of spacenoid resentment that groups like Zeon take advantage of. If everything was peachy, then sides wouldn't keep independently rebelling and waging war against them. So far, we have Side 2, 3, 4 who've declared independence. The Federation is an incompetent government that by late UC exists only to concentrate wealth into a handful of plutocrats. They half-ass everything, and let problems build up until they get another colony dropping on their heads.

This is NOT saying that I side with the sides. The post-war period is also when spacenoids who weren't exclusively from Side 3 entertained Neo Zeon ideas, meaning it still all stems from the evils of Zeon itself. Even then, Neo Zeon was made from Zeon remnants, and Char's time in the AEUG was probably something he exploited to create Neo Neo Zeon as a supposedly "true contolism" successor to what his father spoke of, only for Char to prioritize making it just like the Zabis' Zeon and to make it a bunch of genocidal brats who were convinced that they more people they villified, the more heroic they somehow innately were despite having no values.
