i'm saying at the start of part 2 he's more or less chasing the life he had with power and aki through nayuta and the pets while killing devils as CSM. public safety and the church both came in and crippled that life. i'm saying even though he didn't know nayuta was dead yet, he still knew that he wouldn't be content starting over AGAIN with a new place to live, zero pets and PS still looming over him.
that said, i do think denji didn't really fuck with the school life like that. ch 150 says as much. he definitely didn't want to go back to school and try being a normal civilian. but he DOES want to have a family AND be chainsaw man.
