Be warned. If you are planning on getting into the WN, it has 7.6M characters/words or more than twice the content of Hell Mode or 7 and a half times the size of all 7 Harry Potter books.

I think the series was actually doing a pretty good job of showing the whole "Humans are the real monsters" for the first 300 chapters showing how the Empire was corrupt, the Church was going full Inquisition, and the smaller scale stuff like the arcs of Olivia slowly starting to lose her faith in humanity as a whole like when she saw the money she donated to the Orphanages was being laundered.

So the Empire had to come crumbling down at some point. The Demons were already defeated and Reinhardt from the beginning was bullshitting about doing a Demon rebellion and had no ambition to do one. So the genre shifting to Korean Gates was probably the only thing to bring it down unless they magically asspulled another Empire from another continent as another threat.

Author should have just dumped the harem and gone all in on the tragic Ellen romance (maybe have at most one rival for the drama).
