becomes the biggest manga despite having the worst anime adaptation ever made
You can shit on One Piece all you want, but no other manga would have survived post DBZ Toei to become the face of Shonen Jump.

Its just THAT good. Simple as
One Piece was Toei's last big hit for a reason. Not because they made it work, but because the characters and world were charming and engaging enough to make the dogshit production go unnoticed.
it wasn't that bad for the most part, the early episodes were really comfy, it got bad when they stopped having ending themes, gave the series to terrible directors and started with 3 minutes openings, the stupid recap shit like in fishmen island
Plus they nailed the voices so perfectly and the soundtrack is really good
Toei have skill, but making a long running weekly anime really made a lot of their animations shitty. Precure had that issue too.
the worst anime adaptation ever made
You have it backwards, retard shithead.
If random 100k jump get nonstop 10 years anime from toei instead seasonal 13 episode from random studio, they will be big too.
No, you simply liked the charisma of the characters that came from the manga. Toei never did shit for One Piece, even by the standards of a weekly show, the One Piece anime was always mediocre. >Gintama
Naruto
Bleach
Pokemon
Doraemon
All weekly anime to some extent and infinitely better than the One Piece anime.
I would pay my own money to have 24 episodes of One Piece every year made by any other studio instead of Toei's nonstop crap, but since you're a retarded faggot who just hates One Piece, you can't understand what it's like to have a really bad adaptation for over 15 years of a manga you like.
Worst adaptation
Quite the exaggeration
sure the source material is good but the anime was really comfy, you may be too young to have been there but I sort miss the feeling of the early episodes of one piece, anime nowadays is just not like that anymore
Mention any other manga that has been constantly shit on for over a decade non-stop by the same studio.
Are you bitching because the colors are different?
bleach
naruto
OP talk about TOEI animation and sales, retard, not quality.
I can assure you random 100k wsj manga will be big if it gets 10 years nonstop anime from TOEI.
Nowadays the anime looks better than the manga. Oda became old and can't draw anymore.
Made caused Nami's tits to grow so much?
chopper is the only one to looks similar to the manga
they remade this scene
you may be too young to have been there
I've been watching One Piece probably before you were born. I love 2000's and 90's anime, but the One Piece anime is just poor, it's like Toei didn't give a shit about the story and characters, they just made the minimal, minimal effort and that's it.
Cowtits ruin the aesthetics tard
Forgot pic.
I prefer the bottom pic because the characters are more distant.
they just made the minimal, minimal effort and that's it
literally every long running shounen was like that back in the day, except togashi who somehow got 2 good adaptations, decent adaptations weren't a thing until my hero academia like 12 years ago
dunning kruger, the anime actually simplified the rocks page because animating like it was in the manga would be too hard, people who shit on oda never tried learning how to draw
muh Oda's scribbles
It still looks worse than the manga, but the fact that you think a re-made scene after 10+ years reinvindicates Toei as a studio shows how brainless and lacking in judgment the average One Piece fan is.
You have to be a literally brain dead retard to think this. No one with a minimal knowledge of art would agree with you.

i've never said any of this
Both are better adaptations than One Piece. There is not a single thing that the One Piece anime is better at than those two.
honestly how is toei still in business with all the different animes it has butchered over the years?
one piece doesn't have the ostritch filler
Sorry, I'm just too tired of Toei's cock suckers.
I prefer filler arcs over shitty pacing with 10 manga pages per episode. One can be skipped, the other you have to suck it up and pretend you're fine with it or just drop it.
The industry changed alot over the 30 years that one piece has been going on. One Piece is a special case because it started when long running shounen adaptations were very shitty with the occasional gem like yuyu hakusho. Shit from that era like dragon ball, saint seiya, naruto, gash bell, bleach all look fucking awful by today's standards (you can argue that one is better than the other but they are all different flavors of bad). Then while all of these ended one piece kept going on and it eventually started several trends to slow the pacing from the top of my head I can remember
they stopped making endings
they made openings 3 to 4 minutes long
they added really weird recaps of the entire series (like it explains what the series is? what the fuck is that)
long recaps of the preview episode
One piece/toei invented their own kind of padding during that era, with bad directors on top of that.
The landscape of long running shounen adaptation started changing with hxh 2011, then boku no hero academia, one punch man and so on. When one piece reached Wano Toei started giving a shit about one piece, it was still padded as fuck but in the last 2 or 3 years I think it is quite decent
You can't just say "the one piece anime" and judge it as a single whole thing, there are too many different eras because of the sheer length of time its been ruining. I myself never watched the stretch between Dressorosa to Wano because of the terrible pacing and bad animation. I remember it was the fight between Chinjao and Luffy when I said "ok I can't stomach this"
literally every long running shounen was like that back in the day
Nah, I can see the effort put into Sailor Moon, Saint Seiya or DBZ to elevate the manga. With One Piece there just wasn't shit. Toei probably thought it was a trash story that shouldn't be taken seriously just because of the artstyle.
Saint Seiya or DBZ
Try re watching it, it is as shitty as one piece, I rewatch it quite often because I leave my tv on adult swin and they mostly air saint seyia and dbz on my country
it's another
streaming changed anime episode
studios don't chase the infinite episode model only suitable for TV license anymore. they know that shorter quality seasons make way more sense for the streaming era.
that's why op is getting a remake. same reason resurrected Bleach.
youtube.com
youtube.com
I prefer filler arcs over shitty pacing with 10 manga pages per episode
low key i agree. but. let's not forget that the final seasons of Shippuden were atrocious from that respect. it was like they combined the worst of all worlds by shamelessly mixing filler with canon constantly to bait you into consuming their pointless padding. the one piece padding is enjoyable and with Bleach you can safely ignore non manga seasons and watch only the canon ones. shippuden was the pic related clown show.
Let's be honest with ourselves: If Naruto had simply kept running as-is, without splitting off into Naruto Shippuden, it would have absolutely been BTFOing One Piece to this day. We know this for a fact because OG Naruto was more popular than One Piece back then, and still is now among older otaku. One Piece is nothing more than very formulaic friendship porn for the severely autistic. Once you know the formula, anybody can write a chapter.
Oh no, he's going to eat everything!!! (laugh track)
I really tried to like this shit, but I think it's impossible unless you were the absolute least popular kid at school. There is just no appeal, outside of the very well-done art and a handful of worldbuilding elements that many other series do in a superior way. The art really is noteworthy... But it is ruined by an utterly juvenile story. I would rather rewatch Popeye than this shit.
all things considered, even though im not going to defend the animation quality of op, it suffered the least compared to naruto and bleach.
after bleach concludes later this year, i fully expect either naruto or bleach to get a remake.
the one piece padding is enjoyable
No, it is not. Repeating the same scene and flashbacks over and over again is not good filler. You have to be dumb to consider that good.
all things considered, even though im not going to defend the animation quality of op, it suffered the least compared to naruto and bleach.
-Naruto and Bleach
better openings
better sountrack
better pacing
most consistent animation and character design
Like I said before, there is not a single thing that the One Piece anime is better at than those two, Toei completely shit on Oda's work.
They are a 100-year-old company, they will stay on top no matter what they do.
You are acting like Toei's adaptation of DB was any better, when in fact it was arguably worse
Wan Piss lucked out
One Piece was Toei's last big hit for a reason.
Digimon
Precure
DBS was a bigger moneymaker for them than OP
Yeah you're full of shit, buddy
They just started to care a bit about the animation because all the shows you mentioned had been taking the ratings of the One Piece anime in Japan, but everything else that made the One Piece anime bad has remained intact until now. Toei is simply the pettiest studio I can think of. They love to make money off of popular works, but they don't care about doing them good. Every weekly anime you can think of has been proportionally better than One Piece. All the long-running anime have had bad episodes, but none of them have had completely unwatchable arcs just because of how bad the pacing and animation is.
always in the shadow of Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh
niche stuff
oh shit, the sequel of the most popular anime in history is actually popular!!!!!
Yeah, you're a retarded faggot.
no intelligent story can take up more than 100 episodes at the max
anything above that it's just making shit up for a mass audience
I'm not a big Oda guy but those post-processing effects on the anime are anti-soul
It especially doesn't suit OP whatsoever
The right images have soul, the left ones do not
except togashi who somehow got 2 good adaptations
HxH 99 was good until they switched to digital
YYH was average but decent
HxH 11 was horrid
I can see the effort put into DBZ to elevate the manga
This has to be a joke
and with Bleach you can safely ignore non manga seasons and watch only the canon ones.
With Bleach the filler is better than the canon
Bount arc >>>>>>> Arrancar/Hueco Mundo
Zanpakuto Rebellion arc >>>>>>>>>> FKT/Fullbring/TYBW
People standing around and yelling like retards is elevating the source material!
comparing a studio production vs. a 1000+ chapter weekly manga
it still doesn't look any better
Imagine being a Toei dickrider...
Digimon was more popular worldwide than OP back in the late 90s and 2000s, you would know this if you were alive back then
It doesn't matter if it's 3rd compared to Pokemon/Yugioh, it was still a gigantic hit back then so it's hilarious that you pretend that One Piece is Toei's last big hit when that just ain't the case
Precure isn't niche, that shit prints money
You're completely clueless
It has girls to back it up to fame
For one, the anime is the reason Namek arc is infamous for its pacing, in the manga the arc is very fast-paced
There's a lot of QUALITY too in DBZ, especially due to many different studios working on different episodes
Considering the art quality of the DB manga, the DB anime adaptation is worse than OP's because the downgrade from the manga is much larger by comparison
Not him but Toei did 1000 weekly episodes which is even harder
Toriyama was a great artist but Dragon Ball had a lot of help from the anime to become what it is now.
Digimon was just a passing fad that simply knew how to fit in at the time when monster friends were the sensation. It's a respectable franchise, but you can't call it a big hit.
Precure isn't niche
It is. Niche things can make money, but that doesn't stop them from being niche.
They have hundreds staff members, while manga is done by 3 or 4 guys at most.
That's just because people like watching more than reading. If people think back on the DBZ anime they also think about endless amounts of filler that dampened the experience, therefore they made the trimmed Kai version.
Dragon Ball had a lot of filler, we can all agree with that, but it wasn't nearly as bad as One Piece. There are episodes of One Piece that only adapt 8 pages of manga, do you know what that is? Your average anime adapts 2-3 chapters of manga per episode, but Toei fucks think you can make anime episodes with only 8 manga pages.
