Is crazy that people don't understand that every episode, that every bit of characterization, and every conflict in the story so far is a look into the very idea of a Newtype. What Shiko was raging against wasn't the Red Gundam, or Shuuji, or even Char, she was raging against Newtypes despite being one herself, both because Newtypes didn't live up to their hype, and because Newtypes "took everything away from her" at the same time. What little characterization Deux got besides being a schizo was her hatred for Newtypes, and she tried to justify her life being ruined and having been turned into a child soldier by saying that she existed to surpass them as someone that became one. The whole bit the show has going on about people understanding each other and reading intentions without words, it all comes back to Newtypes. Because Challia is smart, but there's a lot "oh yeah, he deduced it thanks to his Newtype abilities, of course" going on. And then you have the contrast between Nyaan and Xavier, who are both recognized as Newtypes (we do know Xavier is one because he got a Newtype flash in episode 1) except one of them seemingly can't read people at all and keeps repeating that he only got to where he is by luck, while Nyaan could figure out that Kycilia isn't her enemy, and that she was being targeted by Miguel, but there's also the question of if Nyaan is just clever because of the life she has lived, or if it's all Newtype intuition. And Machu's lingering character arc also comes back to being able to tell what other people are feeling or thinking, which is what she was unable to do in episode 4 and what she actually admired and feared about Shuuji and Shiko. But of course people can't think of a story in terms of character, intrigue, themes and subplots, and they can only think of it in terms of the most superficial reading possible of the story.
