Its been almost four years since Shingeki no Kyojin ended. Are you still mad about the ending?
Its been almost four years since Shingeki no Kyojin ended. Are you still mad about the ending?
Yes
I'm more mad this dogshit 'art' was considered acceptable
I'm going to stay mad for 6 more years at least
It wasn't. Everyone was drawn in by the world and characters until the author shat all over it
i remember the threads, they were extra fun. i wasnt invested in the series so it was cool seeing everyone seethe so hard.
i thought the art had this ugly medieval quality to it, very fitting.
Its been almost four years since Shingeki no Kyojin ended
feels like it's been longer desu
I'm going to violate you
the p*ndemic mindbroke everyones perception of time
Got a friend convinced himself that the reason Anon Babble didn't like the story is because the guy didn't get the girl and died, almost thought about picking it back up, reading it and telling him why he is wrong...but he would probably just call me nigger and ignore it.
I'm still mad this retarded show got popular in the first place.
Sounds like a fag. It sucks because the entire arc is just kind of cringe and tone deaf, not because of shipping nonsense. If your friend wasn't retarded, he should be able to see that the entire alliance storyline feels contrived.
At some point during the second season I had an unjustified suspicion that AoT was going to turn into a shitshow by the end, and I lost interest.
I'm less mad than I was then, but still mad
season
??
i recall reading it for the incredible lore and action scenes then it was all 4 walls and faggots speaking and snorefest politics and lost all interest until the end where i re-picked it up to watch to crash and burn
Well he did start telling me all about his view on the plot even when I went as far as to tell him that I did not care, in hindsight I should have dropped the call but I didn't want to be rude.
I dropped it the moment the author admitted he didn't expect the success and wanted it to be a short series.
Yes
I tried to cope this is Armin to get some semblance of a not totally awful ending but her holding a child just makes that cope completely delusional
And that's coming from someone that was completely on board with the historia route since it made the most narrative sense.
He did us dirty, about as dirty as it gets. It's not like the ending had to be bad, everything was set up for an absolutely kino finale, he quite literally just changed his mind last second as evident by the leaked final panel that never came to be.
It's such a tragedy and I am still seethe about it.
leaked final panel
whats this
I don't want to get too into irl stuff but sounds like a shitty friendship. If he acts like an anonymous poster in real life, then it sounds annoying as fuck to deal with. Real life conversations shouldn't be caked in irony and online memes faggotry. Nobody wants to be friends with someone like that.
Your friend isn't wrong. It's also why schizos got so assblasted by the endings of Evangelion and Prison School - their self-insert didn't get the main girl.
The cope never ended until the end, and even after the end I have continued coping. Until I am my finally satisfied.
No. He created Hange and I can't be mad at Isayama for that.
Yes, but i don't care about it anymore.
I just regard it as "That overhyped manga with great potential that ruined itself in just one final arch and awfull ending with humiliation ritual and ridiculous plot progress*.
But who cares? Normies ate that shit up as usual.
Eh, is not IRL, I suppose every friend has facets we don't like and one can just pick and choose, sorry I steered it so much into OT.
Polite sage for OT.
Its not ideal but its fine, I dont like that he died like a cuck, but the story still has its meaning so I accept it, I got mad becasue I had different expectations.
Normies ate that shit up as usual.
And then forgot, moving on to next slop as usual.
Floch didn't deserve death
The tragedy of AOT is a lot worse than just another bad ending. Bad endings aren't anything new after all.
But a bad ending in a story that could have been absolute kino up until the two chapters is something else entirely.
Literally everything about an amazing ending was there, yet he for some reason chose to disregard it all.
If someone ever makes a compelling, edgy series, you better hope that the creator never finds happiness or gets married until the series ends. The suffering artist is definitely a real thing, their suffering acts as fuel for them to create. See also, Vincent Van Gogh.
Why would anyone choose to write themselves into a corner like iseyama did?
He didn't though. The akatsuki no requiem ending was possible until a couple of chapters before the end. He only really locked in the current end at 138
I think Isayama just didn't know how to properly end it. Being torn apart between having a tragic grim ending or a bittersweet ending, also appeasing his fans so instead mashed everything together sloppily and rushed to produce trash we got. He blatantly said that her wanted "the Mist" ending vibes before but decided to change, but then again shoving it in cheaply in last pages.
The fact that he sobbed out when fans began viciously criticizing him for awful ending and apologize for everything, show that he was very torn apart emotionally in last archs with doubt and anxiety and was only fueled by cope.
Should've just stuck trougth with tragic grim ending where Eren succeeds fully and most of his friends die tragically to stop him then dying himself, leaving eldians back home as sole survivors who eventually fight among each other over something more stupid.
SnK should've been a cautionary tale of what extreme forms of hatred leads to and Eren being the person who has to bear with it after experiencing it himself himself but understanding how bullshit it all was in the end after Reiner talk. Instead of being a tale of one dude that was basically manipulated by stockholm syndrom God and his "lover" being the key to everything.
Yeah he pussed out big time and we got this clumsy mess as a result
It could've been a bible-esque story. Literally everything was set in perfectly for it.
Rumbling as the new flood that wipes out earth inhabitants.
People outside Paradis being extremely xenophobic against eldians wanting to genocide them and exploit Paradis no matter what, basically being beyond point of salvation.
Eren being Christ like figure who takes all that hate and consequences of millennium old hate and murder.
Historian child being born exactly after it, as the first child free from curse and millennium old hatred, to inherit the world and free to either repeat the cycle or do better.
But nah. .. It was all Mikasa. ..
No because i wasn't a speedreader who overlooked the fact isayama made uri and kenny friends, so i knew the ending would be similar
unjustified suspicion
It's a shonen. Suspecting that it'll turn into a shitshow by the end is justified.
The ones that end well are exceptions.
Which is proof that anyone who liked the ending never cared that much in the first place.
What annoys me the most is that you can have a genocide ending without being pro-genocide.
Eren commits genocide
Eldians are the only people left
centuries pass
Eldians disperse throughout the Earth
they split off into different nations
they advance further as a society
they go to war with each other
war continues
There. Eren succeeds in his genocide, but it doesn't actually solve conflict or make anyone free from the cycle of violence.
Eren being a whiny bitch about a woman
Still hate it.
Grisha helping Armin
I've accepted it's the logical step and in line with him apologizing to Zeke.
Kruger helping Armin
Still hate it.
Eren killing his mom
Still hate it.
Reiner sniff
Still hate it.
war and Eldia bombing
The anime put a bandaid on this. Still shitty but it's better with it being centuries later.
Overall, still mad 2000 years from now.
Eren being a whiny bitch about a woman
I kinda like this idea in a vacuum but it simply had no place in this story, especially when in context with the rest of the ending
Grisha helping Armin
Makes sense
Kruger helping Armin
Stupid, Kruger was fully bought in unlike Grisha. Hell, Eren was named after him and even used his surname. Kruger basically was an example of the power of the attack titan completely molding the past to fit the future, him going against Eren is betraying his own character.
Eren killing his mom
Kinda like it personally. It's Eren molding himself to become what he needs to be in a very tragic way.
Reiner sniff
A disgrace to his character
war and Eldia bombing
A fine thing on its own with a logical message, but when superimposed with Erens stupid plan it doesn't work at all and just makes him look like a clown
People got assblasted by the end of NGE because they hoped until the end for the show to make sense and the last two episodes were the most obscure and 3deep5me of them all
I didn't read this garbage, so no.
You could say the same things for Oshi no Ko, but then again that was trending downhill as soon as the Crow Girl showed up. But even then the story was salvageable until the last nine chapters.
What SPECIFICALLY did anons not like about it?
Most things I hated at the time I just laugh about now, while still acknowledging why I thought they were bad. The only thing I still get legitimately angry about is is Historia's character, or lack thereof. That pregnancy turned her into a minor plot device and nothing more.
She's one of two characters who knew of Eren's genocide plan and was complicit in allowing it to happen. She's about to become a mother, and given her own family history and experience, the parallels to original Ymir, there's a lot to work with character wise. But nothing is done with it. She was given no present time dialogue, only a few flashbacks. You can have the Farmer be the father, but give him a name, a face, a character, something.
But no, we had to dedicate chapters with Connie.
I'm not a shipperfag and I didn't shitpost about it, but I really thought Isayama was pushing a connection between her and Eren for the finale. It didn't have to be a proper relationship, but I was expecting something to be there. We got fucking nothing, she didn't do fucking anything and didn't matter at all, despite all of the setup.
I think it supports the ending being super rushed and heavily changed at the last minute. For whatever reason Isayama bitched out. Maybe he hated that too many readers had called out the twists and wanted to screw them over, maybe he got the bogdanoff call, I don't fucking care why but I will always be mad about it.
It's over, let it go.
I had that suspicion on episode 3 of the first season and stopped watching
