eh, this is pretty good. i used to have the flowers of evil anime on my grid a long time ago, i think its underappreciated, but ultimately the franchise as a whole is pretty juvenile. if i rewatched it id probably end up liking it still, it has some great scenes like in episode 7 with the nighttime classroom that i still remember. and the og gundam is awesome, too. only thing is you're under arrest is just a shitty patlabor, and totoro is one of my least favorite miyazaki movies. it's been years since i last watched it though, so perhaps i'd like it more now.

there was at least one but nobody posted in it

I haven't posted in one of these threads in years, this seems like the right occasion. I tried to rate the others, but I'm tired of trying to reformat my post over and over.
I kept getting that message as well.

one thing i like about patlabor is how it has light moe elements, which particularly stand out for some of the male cast. hiromi is moe, and so are goto and oda in some ways. and obviously noa. the only male character of the main cast i wouldnt consider moe outright is asuma. in my opinion this makes it quite unique

I agree, the cast and the SOL elements are two big reasons why Patlabor TV is my favorite anime series.

i watched the original ova a long time ago, but now im going through the rest of the series. i like it so much i might actually end up reading the manga when im done with all the anime. the first movie especially stood out to me, and i thought i wouldn't like the tv series at first since it wasn't directed by oshii, but it turns out its still good in its own way, and the tv format actually works quite well for patlabor. it's already easily one of my favorite franchises, and im glad there's so much of it.

Are you watching the remake of Anne? Any thoughts so far? Never seen the original but figured I'd give it a try with the remake given it's status as 'classic'.
Frieren, H&HC, Luluco, and Ping Pong? I'm in.

The manga is definitely worth a read and it's different enough from the OVA and series to not be repetitive.

No, I'm not watching the remake. From what I saw of the visuals before it aired and some webms that I've seen here I have no interest in watching it.

I can understand that. It's kinda the same with the new S&W, I personally don't hate it but there's just a bunch of things that were done better in the original like lighting and atmosphere in the setting. The new one has the nights so god damn bright it feels like it's daytime. I should watch the original when I get done watching the new with friends. And yeah, even with it's atrocious ending the only positive after ep 9 was the fact that the teach wasn't stereotypically a pedophile I still absolutely love what they did with it.

Indeed, I ended up dropping it after two episodes, it wasn't terrible but compared to the original I wasn't enjoying it. It was a shame that the ending of Wonder Egg fell apart so badly, the show got off to a strong start.
