Gundam 0079 is a show from 1979 about a war between two militaries. It wasn't popular with its intended demographic (children) but was very popular with young adults, which was unusual at the time. As anime as a medium got nerdier they made more of it, leading to two types of Gundam. There's shows in the original series' universe, called UC, and shows that are in their own standalone universes, called AUs. While Bandai/Sunrise eventually accepted Gundam was for older demographics, generally speaking AUs are for teenagers and 20somethings who might have not watched Gundam before whereas new UC content is for people who have.
G-Witch, the show starring the dark skinned girl, is an AU. It has no lore ties to anything else.
GQuuuuuux, the show starring the pale skinned girl, is semi-UC. It takes place in a timeline where the military that lost in 0079 won. The first episode is entirely what happened to 0079 characters in this alternate timeline so it's looking like you're not gonna get much out of it without watching 0079 first, which you should anyway because it's better than most Gundams.

i don't even think you need to watch mobile suit gundam (1979) for gquuuuuux especially if you watch the one-year-war part of the movie. highly doubt anyone else from the white base will appear besides maybe amuro and sayla. at most you'll get brief cameos from the rest of the crew like how they threated the zabi family and significant zeon soldiers. but i do recommend giving it a watch, i see it as a timeless classic and have watched it twice

I'm not expecting the first episode to be groundbreaking, it could very well be the type of show that starts basic but builds the plot over time in a neat way.

Idol Precure - It was OK. Nana's action felt a bit forced. "My mom told me to act out of character" is a poor excuse. Realistically, Nana should know why her friends think she acts weird and either explain or feel embarrassed or something. It would probably be more fun that way rather than her just being mostly indifferent to her friend's reactions like a blue turbo autist.

Well, I guess compared to Kimi to Idol it was a bit more subdued, but it's still hitting Precure territoriy, just more akin to GoPri or Hugtto where they have a lot of dense/emotional scenes but still sneak in a lot of jokes.
