Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Gables)

First episode airs in 25 minutes.

Synopsis

On the beautiful Prince Edward Island in Canada, an orphan named Anne Shirley is mistakenly sent to Green Gables, the home of Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert. They choose to adopt her anyway, as Anne finds friendship, love, and happiness in her new home. Come along for the story of a purehearted and imaginative girl growing up, leaving for college, and returning home a changed woman.

Man, Japan really likes this book. This is like the fourth adaptation?

it's a good book. maybe if more boys read it growing up they'd have an easier time talking to girls

There's tons of western books that have never been adapted but nips choose to adapt Green Gables for the 50th time.

Pretty good animation quality. I like this trend of educational Japanese channels getting good budget anime, first Orb, now this.

Is it yuri?

shoujo, japan

shoujo, leaf

;D

Every baby has a father

black man at college

She'd have benchod babies with a father who sticks around

Not every baby will meet or know who their father is though

Daughteru simulator after Medalist ended. Easy aots.

Ginger pussy

Why would she choose a boring college boy instead of Icanfixhim

Who the fuck starts a conversation like that, I just sat down.

God is the only father that matters. Males are just tools to give God more children in heaven. Once you're all grown up though you're sinful and God doesn't want anything to do with you.

like orb

I guess beside Shoushimin, I will follow this, too.

How many episodes before hagficication?

it's mainly because the takahata adaption was so formative

the animation and the style in the preview looks good. i will give it a chance

Why does she have such a forehead? Is that racism towards gingers?

airs

English board, pardner
also where did they get the idea that pushing the show three hours out counts as a "simulcast"?

not my problem

I'm not going to post in this thread any more or make another thread when this one dies so you'd better enjoy necrobumping and making everybody hate you

not my problem

that's a big forehead

This is your brainrot on porn

trvtherald

Is this a sequel to the old anime or like a new take?

If my memory isn´t wrong.. the original anime was just her daily life as a youngster. If what this anon writes is true, it´s a secuel.

It's a new one.

is it out?

volume 147

I think the japs got a bit carried away with their love for this girl.

dude, anne has like dozen books about her and then there is a series about her children
yes, anne is a whore

Raws are out. No subs.

Don't tell me this is one of those faithful adaptions?

I'm pretty sure you're joking but that's the number for the magazine it's published in not the manga volume

You're mentally ill

God just look at that 5head. Literally born to be facialized by old men.

Anna Shirley: One Piece! 1222 episodes in coming.

Holy moly that bitch got tumblr bangs. Can't wait to see her get offended at everything

First episode was great. I feel healed.

whore with multiple children

Anime Canada is very beautiful.

Having a Wholesome life with your seven children (which later one dies at WWI)

Sounds nice

Fag

T. Gilbert (aka worst boy)

Why didn't Matthew fuck Anne?

So tell me again why they redo an animation of an animation of an old book? I did like the old Green Gables.

Still seething over Gilbert

Lol

Green gables Diana was so good, she became one of the Goddess in TWGOK

Don't you EVER lewd Anne.

threadly reminder that Miyazaki left production of the original because he hated Anne

She sees your fap folder

What do you have to say, anon?

He failed to convince the writer of Pippi Longstocking to give the rights for a movie adaptation, which she later allowed for Western cartoon companies.
Something against redheads, perhaps?

Same. Way better than I expected.
This is AOTS.

Miyahacki

Don't care

Good, Takahata did a masterful job with the adaptation, I still have to watch this one though.

He hates everything. What a sad little excuse for a man.

Man, Japan really likes this book

If only they spent the first 10minutes talking about how Anne was a 27 year old black company employee in her previous life before she became Anne this show would go from 9/10 to 10/10.

There's a nursing school in Oklahoma named Green Gables. The book is massively popular in Japan.

Never read the book but I really enjoyed the first episode. Anne seems like a good kid.

Anime pacing isn't goint to be the same as 46 years ago, but 5 eps worth into 1 is a little much.

Actually, she’s cute with her hair down, too bad about the braids.

Technically it's the second. The 1st anime covered the 1st book. The second anime covered a prequel written in 2008.

Why don't they adapt the other books?

The slow as fuck pacing made it so comfy.

How much fanservice she got?

He was right, Heidi and Marco were better

Because they want to adapt it from the start.

It's the Joker stairs! I think I've been to a place identical to this in Montreal.

orb had 0 budget what are you on about

The slow as fuck pacing made it so comfy.

Too fucking slow. I tried it yesterday. It took 3 episodes for anything to even hapen.

Will this be a sleeper show of the season?

The nothing happening is the happening

Yes. Now imagine how much more difficult it is for the Japanese to actually look at a foreign culture and pick something that's not already popular.

Does this bitch ever SHUT THE FUCK UP

BLUSHING BABA

NO. That's the point: she's an over excitable chatterbox. That's her charm.

This just reminds me I want more historic shows.

Ann with an E

It's (((Irish)))

Burn it.

This is a kids anime

this looks like the granny is fucking her from behind...

Puniru too.

Which is the great thing about old anime. More episodes means the story has room to breathe instead of going trough the plot at breakneck speed.

Tsundere baba.

Maybe in the west, japs lap this shit up.

I think it's because all the great adaptations were tackling still ongoing material so there was no incentive to rush. When you're adapting a finished story you want to cram it in as few episodes as possible.

hq720.jpg - 686x386, 52.31K

Anne Shirely this will get a second season, right?

You know what this show needs more of? That's right bitches

HELL YEAH DUDE

That's 2020's anime for you. I was watching a 2015 anime the other day and i was wondering why it looked so good.

It took 3 episodes for anything to even hapen.

Picked the fuck up.

is it just me or does this show looks slightly lwa-ish? anne feels like a red-haired akko.

H I M E CUT

010607.webm - 960x540, 2.43M

They'll cover the whole story. Hell at this pace they could probably cover the whole story and Anne of Avonlea.

Just this one episode made me wish I had kids.

fuck off

Is it that bad?

The Answer Studio

huh?

To put it into perspective, the first anime adaptation covered the story in 50 episodes. This episode covered what the first anime did in 4.5 episodes, and this version is slated for 24 episodes.

I want to flick her 5head

honestly I think that'll be better. I wouldn't want to wait years for a second season

I wish there was an anime Pippi Longstocking series. I know Lindgren told Miyazaki to fuck off in the '70s but I'm surprised he never went back when he was famous.

pGZArk6[1].jpg - 862x586, 160.02K

4.5 episode

They just ride a carriage to 2 locations, what possibly could take 4.5 episodes?

red-headed girls smell bad

Former Disney Japan.

On the other hand, that one goes to the other extreme of stretching things out to an absurd length.

Holy crap, Anne has Asscreed powers! Is this foreshadowing to the psychic stuff in the later books?

010824.webm - 960x540, 1008.26K

I know Lindgren told Miyazaki to fuck off in the '70s

I wonder why because there are a million shitty live action adaptations

I could see a future adaptation by Miyazaki. Goro Miyazaki.

Goro Miyazaki

Have things changed or is he still a talentless hack?

You gotta remember Miyazaki and anime in general were virtual unknowns in the 70s. It's understandable why they'd be bullish on entrusting Pipi to them.

I never read Rilla of Ingleside. Should I?

Husbands can't rape their wives.

No.

011042.jpg - 1920x1080, 178.54K

The original Anne of Green Gables show is magical. I'm quite liking the new anime so far though.

5261281.jpg - 1920x1080, 217.87K

I'm annoying this one isn't so bad i can easily dismiss it and watch the original instead.

Unironically yes, but only when it's not raining and cloudy which is rarer than meeting a virgin in Halifax

t. A fucking leaf

after how Earwig turned out?
never

But this new one is just as beautiful like this, right?

Who designed this shit? Soichirou Yamamoto?

Meeting Anne is a whole episode, Anne being at Green Gables is a whole episode, Marilla and Matthew coming to the decision to take her back is a whole episode, Marilla and Anne's carriage ride is a whole episode.

That sounds boring as fuck

He said the thing!

akage-no-an.jpg - 1180x664, 147.58K

It's not. For further reference, this episode covers 5 of the book's 38 chapters (skipping chapter 1, just as the original adaptation did)

they also increased her forehead 50%

Why is she balding at such a young age?

They couldn't adapt the rape flashback.

It is. it TOO slow.

not if you groom her to be your wife

Hope for bloomers

We are so fucking back.

012231.jpg - 1920x1080, 196.89K

What happens in the first chapter?

Finally thre best romance of the year is here

...romance?

The akebi guy should have adapted this. Sounds right up his alley. but no sailor uniforms

My biggest fear was that not enough time would be dedicated to the two next books, like what happened with Emily of New Moon, but judging by the current pace of things it appears there'll be plenty of time for them.

012338.jpg - 1920x1080, 235.82K

looks good

Wait a fucking minute.
Is it incest?

Average anglo-saxon food, gray like shit

If you like the anime you'll like the book, if you like the book you'll like the author's writing in general. Rilla is considered her second most important book becasue it is culturally significant to the history of Canada.

Pippi Longstocking??

reminds me of this

I'm ready to get comfy and wholesome

Sousano... ;_;

I am more curious of the WWI portion, so I think I'll give it a read.

And understand why leaf economy is retarded.

Is this Precure

Make sure you don't read an abridged version as later editions cut down on the anti-Hunnic sentiment.

Add in her being a loli and the time period and yeah

Is this actually good or more pretentious garbage everyone pretends is good like VEG?

It's an adaptation of a 117 year old novel intended for children. It's like the furthest thing from pretentious.

red-headed girls stink good

Holy fuck, there are like 12 shows to watch today.

It's like Tom Sawyer but for girls.

Saturdays are always heavy days for new anime. I'm giving a lot of the Saturday shows a pass this time, but there's probably more to come later.

Not true, my sister smells like roses.

Tom Sawyer

No idea what that is

>No idea what that is

the state of education

I'm a fucking leaf, so is it easier to find unaltered versions?

It was because of the extremely unfaithful original Moomin anime, which at that point was basically the only reference point a Swedish author like Lindgren had for anime.

Of which only 2 or 3 seem worth picking up

Tom Sawyer is like Harry Potter for boomers.

I would watch an adaptation with kurokami himecut Anne.

I've read it in elementary school and didn't talk to girls until I was 19.

Yes it is but you can't find that at a second hand bookstore and what you can find is usually the omitted versions.

All that effort for the breakfast? She must love gettng up so ealy to make it..

generic shonen slop

It's fine, I don't live in an English speaking country anyway, reading online is much easier for me.

Yes, i hope they reach the part when she gives birth to 7 children

That might be japs assuming everyone is as autistic about breakfast as them.

I dropped it half way through the episode.

old anime isn't that good, it's mostly nostalgia. I learned a hard lesson with urusei yatsura and I'm not falling for the "old good" bait again

you have misjudged the system of quality, it's not "old good" it's the power of autism. the power of otaku fanaticism is what drives quality and "new lum but the same" is the opposite, that's a cash grab. westabooism is hardcore.

I don't quite get it

if a company thinks "someone will buy this again" then they throw a pittance of money to turn a profit. if a studio says "we want to make this" then sell money people on the idea it's a straight up labor of love. sometimes that's a hilarious train wreck but it's never soulless cash grab.

Will watching this make me smart and erudite?

yes.
or, horny.

Haha, you watched Canadian fiction. You're a hoser now, bud!

It will make you a lolicon who likes 5heads

close, this is the anne shirley show though not an ensemble.

What made it so popular? Was it actually good, or just another fairy tale?

Is this the U149 thread but for gentlemen with a handlebar moustache?

People like happy stories about cute little girls. It's why Shirley Temple was the hottest thing in Hollywood for years.

shartania pic

retarded post

It has a lot of feminism in it for the time it was written. Anne is very independent but with a sense of appreciation for what's given to her. There's also the whole growing up & fitting into social norms while retaining your own individuality that Japanese probably like.

Orphan asylum? Like madmen with no family, or madmen and people with no family in the same space?

sharty

Was she always this excitable?

It's nice to have another faithful adaptation after the mess of those american comics.

I dated a natural redhead. Her pubes were bright orange. I had no idea that was a thing in real life.

Just another term for orphanage. The term "asylum" just means "place of safety", the correct term for a place for insane people is "insane asylum", as distinct from other asylums.

Is that cunt on drugs or something?

probably the gin

Back then Anne would be thrown in jail for having Female hysteria

She got adopted and is going to her new home, do the math.

Female hysteria

Wasn't hysteria exclusively female hence the name?

Well it is the 1800s. Who knows what drugs they are taking that time.

Didn't she said that redheads shouldn't wear pink because it's like dying? How did the staff let this dress color pass.

There were manga adapations of the of the other books, not all of them, but more than the anime covered.

Can't wait for new wave of cunny fanart.

ToT uohh Anne erotic

Castor oil and cocaine were both popular remedies at the time.

Lolicons have been jacking it to Anne for longer than I've been alive.

I don't know how many different versions I've seen of this. The old anime, a live action move decades ago, might have been a live action tv show as well.
Those stairs looks pretty damn steep.
Freckles and the classic pigtails. A timeless character design.
Love me a steam engine.
The backgrounds look like oil paintings. Very nice touch. Combined with the roundish character designs it's visually appealing.
Even the CG carriage looks alright so far.
Nice use of fisheye to get across how close she is getting.
The hens are a clucking.
She is such a cute girl. So full of energy and happiness.
They even got the ripples coming off the bridge supports as the carriage crosses it. Very nice attention to detail.
Poor old guy knows what his wife is like and fears her wrath when they get home.
Poor thing, can only imagine a kid that age finally getting told they'll have a family only to have that "family" reject her at the door.
She is a bit melodramatic. What a cute dork.
He's such a good guy. A kind heart through and through.
Old woman is losing the battle to Anne's charms.
Old crew rivalries are always funny.
Wonderful first episode. What kind of budget did they get for this, it seems extremely well polished.

There’s never anybody to be had but those stupid, half-grown little French boys; and as soon as you do get one broke into your ways and taught something he’s up and off to the lobster canneries or the States. At first Matthew suggested getting a Barnado boy. But I said ‘no’ flat to that. ‘They may be all right—I’m not saying they’re not—but no London street Arabs for me,’ I said. ‘Give me a native born at least. There’ll be a risk, no matter who we get. But I’ll feel easier in my mind and sleep sounder at nights if we get a born Canadian.

12645886790.jpg - 1920x1080, 268.98K

Why is a pair of siblings living together and adopting a child?

adopting a servant

Fuck I meant Okayama.

This was once a common sense and reasonable opinion to hold.

Incest babies were still looked down on back then.

Fuck the Maritimes used to be so based. What happened here?

It's funded by NHK so they should be properly budgeted.
Also considering how amazing 1979 is, and how fans are nitpicking small things like Anne sitting on a flower bed instead of bags, Gilbert's hair, and her outfit, they'd probably be crucified by the fans if they didn't put out something at least good.

Children used to be like indentured servants. They were expected to work around the house as soon as they were able, and were not paid for their labor. Before child labor laws were introduced you could even have a child as young as 10 years old get a job, and their income would go toward maintaining the household. Basically, children had to earn their keep somehow. They were not held to the same standard as an adult, but there was some expectation they would work. Especially on a rural farmstead, there is no shortage of chores to be done, especially for two people who are getting on in years, having an energetic child take over some of the legwork would be a huge boon.

and do that end i'm sure the orphan asylum was half a workhouse too.

First

So there will be more?

That was nice.

It's been long confirmed they'll adapt the next two books.

we'll get to see this Anne whip a child

11.png - 926x768, 329.74K

It varied a lot depending on the place and who ran it. Religious orphanages tended to be more focused on domestic living, but privately run ones might be more profit-oriented.

Matthew has a weakness for women, and this is why he has never married or dated in spite of his old age. Fortunately for him, Anne is more than happy to speak for him.

Especially on a rural farmstead, there is no shortage of chores to be done,

Farming is chill as fuck, you don't even do anything and just wait for crops to grow most of the year. Planting and harvest are busy, everything else is easy peasy.

They are maintaining a farm.

Depends on if they raise animals too.

Did you check Clarkson´s farm? And all that with modern machinery.

Davy and Dora

Paul

Please be true

No idea where you got that impression, but farming is constant chores. And moreover this 19th century farming. So a typical day looks like this:

get up at ass crack of dawn

clean out remains of yesterday's fire from the stove

empty piss-pot

collect firewood for kitchen stove and get the stove going for the day

fetch water from well, hauling it by the bucket full to the cistern for the house

by now other people in the house are waking up and will be wanting breakfast soon

gather fresh eggs from hen house

milk cows

go prepare breakfast for household

clean up after meal, washing everything

make the rounds cleaning up after the animals and giving them fresh feed and water

if you got horses this is gonna be a long, dirty job

check enclosures to make sure the fences and gates are in good repair

check fields for signs of pests, rot, and weeds

water the garden plots and also check them for the same

break for lunch

go chop firewood to add to the stockpile for tomorrow

second round of checking on animals

miscellaneous household chore time (pick one or more!): mending clothing, washing laundry, making butter, sweeping out house / barn, cleaning fireplace before evening, checking the septic pit (worst chore), and preparing meat and preserves for storage, among others

time to prepare dinner for everyone

sunset so get the fireplace going so people have a nice warm room to gather in once it's dark

wash up for the evening

turn in

These are just the daily chores you'd probably do, not accounting for actual farming responsibilities like detailed animal care, plowing, tilling, sowing, reaping, etc, or occasional errands that take you into town and eat up most of the day.

Sure you have slow days where there's not much to be done, but there's always SOMETHING that needs to be done. It just doesn't have to be you who does it, if you've got lots of hands around to do the work.

How? They're adapting like crazy.

I guarantee that your country has much better nature than Canada.

Canada is mostly nature though. It's the second largest country on earth by land area and only the southernmost strip of it is inhabited to any real degree. You have swathes of wilderness larger than entire countries.

You forgot to mention that you're only doing all this in seasonal bursts, but for most of the year you have unlimited free time. In winter in particular boredom is a far greater problem than exhaustion.

>You forgot to mention that you're only doing all this in seasonal bursts

No, you're doing that every day. Did you even read the chores I described? None of that is "seasonal".

And the quality of this nature is poor. This is how 90% of Canada looks. In the north you can add low pines and low unexciting mountains on the horizon.

orig.jpg - 3000x1687, 532.66K

He didn't say Canada didn't have nature, only that the nature isn't very good, which is true. You're probably imagining verdant old growth forests and gorgeous mountain vistas, but most of Canada is fairly flat and sparsely vegetated wasteland.

sounds like a fulfilling life

Do you genuinely think city people don't cook or don't wash or something

But best girl PHIL most of all.

10.jpg - 684x579, 86.3K

Having sex on the stable with a hot horny blonde woman makes up for it

City people don't have to haul water to the cistern every day so the household has clean water for washing and cooking and bathing. City people also do not have to gather eggs by hand and milk cows to enjoy such things, they purchase them at a grocer or have milk delivered (as was the fashion at the time).

City people also don't work outside and their clothes covered in filth on a daily basis, so they can let washing go for a few days and rotate between fresh sets of clothing. They don't have to worry about manure stains setting.

By the late 1800s also, many city apartments and homes had gas stoves and even gas heating. They didn't have to chop firewood just to cook a meal or heat their homes.

city people mostly dont get clean water. city people got street filth on them, including manure and human manure.

city people mostly dont get clean water.

Clean enough. They have sewers and plumbing. Most rural communities to this day are not connected to a sewer line.

An anon of distinguished taste.

Why are Japs so obsessed with this?

Are you sure you aren't getting your facts ass backwards? Villagers had individual wells with fresh water. City people had to get water from filthy public fountains and haul it home in buckets for long distances. They also ate rancid food because of no refrigeration. Their clothes were absolutely covered in filth because the streets were filthy (filthier than in the middle ages, actually), and even where pavement existed, they were splashed with mud by carriages.

You have just watched it. Can't you see how cute it is?

That's like only the southern prairie provinces. Canada is fucking huge and sparse, it's mostly glacial lakes and Canadian Shield outcrops. PEI has wet damp weather and the iconic red sands.

They like cute literary lolis. Wish the new PA works Alice was a series and not a movie.

it was cute loli anime before anime

new PA works Alice

What? Did I missed a PA Works show unknowingly?

At what episode do you think we'll reach, book two, Anne of Avonlea? At the current rate it seems like we'll be there by the pre-teens.

It hasn't premiered yet

1500x500.jpg - 1500x500, 754.11K

Retarded, are (you)?

I see. Thanks for the heads up anon

Did they actually insert a jap character into this.

Self-inserts have gone too far.

wait we're not getting a season per book?

Yes. I do wish it was just Alice but I may be biased because I like lolis and Alice is one of my favorites. Sadly we will be waiting quite awhile for a DVD release and nips hate camrips

For me, it's the Soviet Alice.

yeah I also played stardew valley. fortunately we don't live in frontier frickin nowhere. Machines do all those things except 10-100k times better than manual labor. The real danger with modern farming is mostly about not getting crushed by a banking group, because everyone with a billion dollars wants to tie you into infinite debt and steal your land.

its literally an isekai into an isekai

kek

The real danger is disease that can randomly leave you bankrupt in one second at any moment. I want to personally strangle every rainbow hair anti-GMO protesting freak whose activity ensured that our crops are still not 100% disease-resistant.

It's true, the quality of our nature sucks.

fun western setting

ruined by shit dialogue

what a shame. guess there's nothing to watch on saturdays.

No, they've said this anime would be divided into three parts. We've already seen the designs for Anne of Avonlea and Anne of the Island, the former already being used for the cover seen in the OP.

AGOTS?
(Anal Girl Of The Season)

I don't see any other candidate, so yes

Dark elf

Is this show gonna cover every book? The pacing in the first two episodes are fast. We didn't see Diana in the old series until like episode 9 if I remember correctly.

Puniru is a lolicon show with the gimmick of pretending to be a kid show. It's not the same.

Does Anne ever stop yapping? I guess she did that too in the '79 series, but that came off as more inquisitive and curious.

The official site seems to hint it will cover the first three books. There's NTR on the 3rd one.

The pacing in the first two episodes are fast.

Are you going by the preview? In any case, maybe they want to squeeze book 2.

Anne is a yapper autistic Orphan

Gilbert unironically did nothing wrong by bullying her. Judjing by this thread everyone would do the same

Yes later on

Yapping is a literal character trait for her. Imagine how popular she would be as a vtuber.

Isn't it just because the pacing was slower so the dialogue was more spread out? It's basic math.

No, she's a yapper in the original story for sure.

As a Newfoundlander I have to take issue with that claim, though I just barely consider my province to actually be a part of Canada.

Little Orphan Annie anime?

Finished the first episode, pretty damn cute but I can see this girl over-enthusiasm be a bit way too much for an old man like me.

It's interesting seeing the die hard Anne JP Twitter accounts criticizing the new show for being unfaithful to the books/original anime. They really like this series.

Newfoundland looks more like idealised Sweden than actual Sweden does.

Has anyone read the books? What are they like? I recall from the last book of the series where the boys in Anne's neighborhood head off to the battlefield of WW1.

I'll reserve my judgment for tomorrow

I wanna molest Anne

Do you think there are women here?

There should be mentally ill men pretending to be one.

"We're going to be useful to HER."
Damn, that's a real man right there. And the old lady is the same, but way more tsundere about it. Truth it, they fell in love with Anne almost immediately.

yeah, Matthew is so fucking based

Gilbert...

Anne awakened Matthew's loliconism

He fucks his sister though

Psshh, how silly. Of course not.

so he's an incestchad and a lolicon? damn, he's literally me

Not every lolicon wants to fuck their sister but every siscon is a lolicon.
It's common knowledge.

OH MY CG HORSE

That was cute. I have a soft spot for cosy farm town settings.
I definitely need to watch the 1979 adaptation some time.

Don't forget the prequel, lads.

1st book was mandatory reading in grade 7 where I live, so was forced to read it.

I mean it made me cry on episode one so it must be doing something right.

What would Anne name your dick if she saw it?

Super Sucker Cum Jetting Machine

I was surprised to find out Anne was one horny ginger, I mean, seven children?

You can't forget something no one remembers.

One Eyed Goo Beast

Just imagine how much sex she must have had... literally entire weeks of back to back creampies every night, every year...

She has no soul

Do leafs even like this series? I remember watching the cartoon over 20 years ago and it was fucking shit.

What's Anne's favorite position?

There's been like 20 western live-action adaptations

Doggy. Leaves more room for the imagination as to who's fucking her, plus she can look out the window at the flowers that way

This doesn't happen often but i think i prefer the new designs.

I too remember watching it and thought it was "girly" and stupid but for some reason I also remember it fondly

white way of delight

It has cuter Anne

I have the whole collection, although I've only read about half of them. They're very lovely.

I visited with my parents when I was really young so I just have vague memories of it, but it was pretty nice. Went to the beach a lot, and even went to see the Anne of Green Gables house. It would probably have been more interesting for me if I had read the books at the time.

I don't think this was needed. But I sure do like it.

Anne 1.webm - 1920x1080, 348.66K

why is japan obsessed with anne?

And this was even better.

Anne 2.webm - 1920x1080, 327.71K

I want to make ginger babies with Anne

lewdest show of the episode

insanely well animated, did they force actual little girls to go barefoot in front of them to get it right?

*shot

gremlin

I didnt like that one, too much suffering for my taste

Well, it IS set in Canada.

I agree. that's my main problem with most of the WMT series: almost non stop suffering. That's why I liked Anne and that other one in Australia.

I do appreciate this one doesn't have a narrator describing what we are seeing.

FUN FACT: Redheads have higher rates of substance abuse issues and mental disorders

This likely stems from genetics which renders them as having a heightened sensitivity to pain. Any dentist can tell that redheaded patients for some reason need a higher dosage of of meds before they report their gums going numb

So what you're saying is if someone is rough with Anne, she'll feel it more intensely?

Think Cute Girls Doing Cute Things but words! They're nothing especially challenging, you could read them all in three weeks if you really wanted and if you like the first one you'll generally like them all.

I've read the first four. They're all pretty chill.

The second one follows on from the first pretty well. Third is Anne goes off to study and has a bunch of times where she is a complete bitch. The fourth is very mellow and a bit less like an Anne book, although there is a bigger gap between 3 and 4.

Didn't read the rest of them. They just didn't sound that good.

I had to go see a play of it when I was in middle school, but it's pretty irrelevant otherwise.
B.C. btw.

If we get to book 3 like said I wonder if they're going to change thing or not.

Canadians were particularly infamous for warcrimes in WWI.

a fucking leaf

Is this supposed to be based on Roadside Picnic?

I tried to get into the old anime several times over the years, but would without fail drop it whenever I got to her forced drama ugly crying about not getting to stay there followed by the cheesy Disney-style insert song with subs that blocked out the dialogue for several minutes. I'm glad this adaptation is far more bearable.

I don’t remember any insert song

There was one while she was crying in bed.

FUCK

Very loosely.

I once had another Newfoundlander tell me she thought Sweden was boring because it just felt like she was at home.

No, Sweden is simply boring.

Leafs, report in.

Ontario here.

Mumbai here.

I mean their meatballs are good, but I can just go to Ikea to get those.

Sooooooo how many books are we getting adapted?

1 Anne of Green Gables
2 Anne of Avonlea
3 Anne of the Island
4 Anne of Windy Poplars (Canada and USA)
Anne of Windy Willows (UK and Australia)
5 Anne's House of Dreams
6 Anne of Ingleside

The following books focus on Anne's children, or on other family friends. Anne appears in these volumes, but plays a lesser part.

7 Rainbow Valley
8 Rilla of Ingleside
9 The Blythes Are Quoted

It's a fucking meatball. You'd need to struggle to come up with a more primitive dish.

You'd need to struggle to come up with a more primitive dish

Read or watch Bookworm.

Read or watch garbage

No thanks

The current pace has Green Gables ending at episode 7, so probably 8 episodes for each book since it's 24 eps total.

Isn't that a bit fast? I know the book isn't too long but that seems far too quick.

How did this studio actually do well with this? They fucked up Tower of God S2 so bad no one has mentioned that series since

somebody somewhere in the production gave a fuck

shoushimin is shit. how did you even get through s1 and decide you wanted more?

It's the people who matter, not studio's name. Just look how Medalist turned out; ENGI is not a good studio yet adaptation was great.

Unbelievably based. All gookshit needs to be defaced beyond all recognition.

pedolist forcer even here

fuck...

the only dad that matters isn't even a real dad

ok, booma

Just 'cause it's primitive, don't make it not tasty.

It's very fast.

I remember reading this in 4th grade and thought it was pretty good.

Luckily she'll be grown up for half of the show

Swedes made sure to rule that out by serving it with jam. Pineapple pizza tier abomination.

Luckily I'm attracted to hags too.
