Uruto's saving grace is that he's shown he's capable in battle. The fact that Roy respects him enough to have his back makes his ego feel at least earned. That and of course he can Mega Evolve meaning he's obviously not weak to begin with.

So if Gurumin's new segment is going to show off one new mega every episode, they're going to have to go pretty overboard with the introductions the next couple episodes. We've only seen two in the anime so far.
It might be like the Manon segments from XY, which largely focused on Megas that hadn't appeared in the show yet.
