This is so fucking true
When i was starting out as an electronics hobbyist and had just gotten a job i spent an insane amount of time just fucking around making random stuff and learning tons. It was so much fun, i was making very cool stuff and it was teaching me things that my peers and even superiors didn't know. I didn't give a shit about that though, i just wanted to have fun and make cool stuff
FF to now, i fell for the self improvement/organised improvement meme and I'm failing hard, while not even enjoying myself

Steins;Gate

inb4 there's six or seven seething replies to my post an hour from now

Reddit.com?

What do the haters miss? This show is dead average to me.

can confirm, only the most sophisticated geniuses on Anon Babble understand this manga completely

I really enjoyed going back to Game Club and giving it a re-read. On a first read I paid more attention to the dynamics between the characters, and walked away with the feeling that it's less about videogames and more about the slow build-up to the reveal of each character's personality. Once you know the story beats, though, on a re-read you realize that it's actually way more about video games and their appeal in general than you initially give it credit, and every major character is actually just building towards this central theme.

Unironically Arifureta, at least the novel

Goodnight, Punpun

I was reading that manga of koji kumeta; one about a family living in shibuya, i can understand the archetypes of the people living in a famous, fancy city but i will never comprehend it because i will never love in shibuya or have a family :/ ha ha ha.

Naruto is so misunderstood it is wild.

mozocry

i enjoyed the storytime threads but the fact that she mostly writes short stories kind of limits her potential as a writer.
The longer stories are mostly meandering until they abruptly end, while mozos short stories have actually the most potential but dont get a chance at serialization.
Mozocrys mindset is truly a mystery i wonder what the next project will be...

When I was a dumb kid, I liked Elfen Lied because it focused on stimulating elements like gore and nudity, and validated my edgy/emotional sensibilities.

As I grew into a young adult who thought he knew everything, I realized the series was amateurish, contrived, fetishistic, manipulative, and juvenile.

Now that I’m actually mature, I realize both are true. I can examine the imperfections with as much interest as what it gets right. It’s earnest, with memorable iconography and sequences. I allow myself to engage with it intellectually and emotionally, to take in the full beautiful mess as a whole. It’s not so bad it’s good, it’s just good… and bad.

Anyone comprehends pupun means that at least has had depression, sad life.

you mean the normi hunter x hunter?

like basically any smart person

Comparing Naruto to HxH is a joke.

Unhappiness is midwit as shit, it should be another dip graph.

The longer stories are mostly meandering

See, that was my thought too after my initial read, and I'd agree with you for some of his other stories, but Game Club is different in this regard. There's a very consistent and intentional build-up going on throughout, of both each character's personalities and its main themes. I think it's his most developed and clearly mapped-out story, with everything building up to Volume 10. It feels abrupt if you're following the characters, who while they gain some introspection as people don't really change or go anywhere by the ending. But if you're following what those characters are discussing and talking about with each other on a re-read, the series has said everything it really needed to say about video games and its characters by the time things start getting resolved in Vol 11.

I think you have to sit and think about what goes on in Haibane Renmei to get it. The base story is pretty simple to understand, but there is also a lot of symbolism and connection to Christian virtues and imagery beyond what it puts directly in front of you. I like it.

INT usually is correlated with a decrease in happiness and I don’t think loading on more INT helps. Happiness at high INT generally comes from WIS or CHA.

I don't like enjoying things. Enjoyment feel so primitive.

Middle of the bellcurve will do that to ya.

Neo yokio, while it may seem to the middling view like a hideous trainwreck, is infact a beautiful trainwreck, the likes of which is only seen once in a generation

Disasterpiece? I mostly avoided it on principle.

IQ bellcurve memes are retarded

Kaz khan is so opposed to the idea of character development it becomes a valid interpretation that the writers were taking the piss out of his voice actor
It's rare to see a plot so consistently skirt the edges of self awareness without ever falling
If you have even one drop of trust in me buried in your heart, watch Neo Yokio

Corey in the House

Steins;Gate is for midwits at best. Just because it's slow and plodding doesn't mean it's smart.

Funny how everyone here is in the high IQ section
What are the odds?

Which retards like steins gate?
Find me one black man with a steins gate t shirt
Even one

Midwits are filtered by the premise immediately because they have to hold a positive position.

no, most are on the retarded side

FLCL fits this to a T.

Raw baseline appeal

Tone and presentation that filters self serious fags

Enough depth to give a full meal to those who engage with it

Dxd is pretty easy to understand in its surface level but in truth it's one deep anime

Gurren Lagann might be the most extreme example.

Most anime fit this bellcurve. A few anime are a straight line up (“pleb filter anime”), I can’t really think of any that are a straight line down or midwit only.

Hard to comprehend sure, wouldn't call easy to understand tho (look at the early reception of the last two episodes)

Love steins;gate, don't think its that hard to comprehend.

4channel, specially Anon Babble, is a gathering of the most intelligent individuals on the planet. It's a thing a of beauty.

steins;shit is so boring, it's not awful. But it didn't make me interested in playing the VN

Azumanga Daioh, K-on!

turn the graph upside down and yes, s;g is applicable

Ting tang walawala bing bang

Like clockwork.

Ah, Steins;Gate. Sometimes I ponder why is it borderline forgotten here?

Simply put, because idiots.
Steins;Gate is about fucking SCIENCE. Fuck. Yes. I wouldn't expect many people here to get it. The sad fact is, most people don't like complixcity or deepness.
It's not a high school setting moe anime about little girls eating cake. It's not an overpowered shounen battle anime. It's not an isekai. Or, if we bring it closer to scifi, it's not your generic mecha anime. This so hard sci-fi, as opposed to the soft sci-fi the mediums trains you on.
S;G is quite realistic in its storytelling, and being realistic means its not everyone's cup of tea. Given the fact of how the story goes and also how it is originally a VN and was put on a night slot, we can see this is absolutely not for everyone (esp children). In fact, adults without a grasp of theoretical physics may struggle with it.
Steins;Gate is like the GTA IV of anime. Dark and cryptic, yet elegant and profound. Something that the average fool can't or does not care to appreciate. While your average shounen is like GTA V: loud, robust and obnoxious; yet hollow, lacks depth, and goofy. They are just too common, too cliche.
Simply put, S;G is uncliche; its curse; in that a lot of people simple can't grasp it; but also it's strength.

Nice pasta but I was seeking a real answer.
