Im on Sky Island Saga. When does it gets good?

They sail somewhere

They land on some fuckass island

Coincidently bad guys are also here

You get 10 chapters backstory about some character you dont give a shit about

They fight the bad guys

they (Suprise, surprise!!) BEAT THE BAD GUYS!!!!

Repeat in the next 10 volumes

I really like the characters, but I just can't stand the predictability of the story.
I have no reason to open the next volume because i just already know what will happen.

The only reason I keep reading this shit is that when the ending drops it will be the biggest event in the internet history and I want to experience it without spoilers

the Internet is already dead, why do you care about something being artificially hyped on the Internet in like 2032

NPC response

Just watch the latest couple episodes when it's about to conclude. That's what I'm gonna do.

you are in the good part and you aren't liking it, i think it's just not for you.

Probably Water 7 saga, the one after sky island. But I’ve been watching this since I was like 10, though, if that’s any consideration on why I still watch it

Just camp Anon Babble and spam doom threads when the last few chapters come out

Skypiea is peak adventure piece

But I’ve been watching this since I was like 10, though

damn must fell good. I wish I could get into any piece of media so long ago and still stick to it.

I just want to experience ANY variety in the story. So far, the recipe is the same. They are currently fighting with the bad guys, but I hope something unexpected will come out of it

I had taken breaks and caught back up on and off through the years, which was good because I was able to just fast forward through all the stupid shit and horribly slow pacing, but now that I’ve consistently been caught up, I’d be excited for this week’s episode only for it to be side shit that literally no one cares about

There are people who are enamored by One Piece from the very beginning. Some by Arlong Park. Some take till Alabasta.

There are others who do not enjoy it seriously even through to Skypiea, but end up getting hooked by the next arc, Water Seven; which is regarded by many as the best section of the story.

But typically speaking, if you don't like the whole Water Seven storyline, then that's it; there is no point in continuing the story. You can properly say you gave One Piece an honest try and it just doesn't work for you.

The climax of Skypiea is some of the greatest kino in the series. People generally agree that Arlong Park is the test for if you will really like the story or not, and you should have dropped it then.

If you are watching One Pace.
The anime starts good, it gets better and better, it will peak around Marine Ford and then take a heavy dip after the time skip after which it'll only slowly recover much later on.
If you did not enjoy this show from episode 2 when Zoro eats that rice ball from the ground and tells the little girl that it's delicious then you shouldnt have wasted any more time on the show.

Well yeah it's a naval adventure, they go by ship, through the sea, what did you expect.
There's going to be people on islands, and some of them are bad (pirates or not, dosen't matter).

One Piece peaked at the beginning with East Blue and it has been going downhill since

It's not for you. And that's ok fren! :)

watch

yeah watch the 1120 episode anime which will take *checks notes* around 370 hours to finish. OP even mentioned that they "open volumes". Average One Fag reading comprehension.
It's exactly that. It gets better in the part mentioned but it gets even more shit later on. You should keep reading just to know how shit it is.
The reason people like Skypiea is because they have been mindbroken by Luffy's retcon retcon no mi fruit later on which was *apparently* showcased in Skypiea but was the asspull of the century. It's the most overrated arc of all time.
The community of the series is braindead which you can see by checking out some of the threads on Anon Babble. And it's not like I didn't like it. In fact, it was fine until wano. Then it stopped being one piece and became a story of "how I became Jesus". I know I sound bitter. And yes I am.

the theory that said luffy is a skypean was way better then the canon nika shit

When does it gets good?

NGMI.

i'm like 30 chapters away from finishing Wano and my god this is just excruciating

that's a shonen manga for you

The only reason I keep reading this shit is that when the ending drops it will be the biggest event in the internet history and I want to experience it without spoilers

what a fucking faggot

Watch it for the fanservice!

You have to read 450 chapters of this trite shit to say that you gave it a fair shit

You people are mentally ill. Plain and simple.

You don't 'have to' read 450 chapters. That's just the most extreme case where someone who hasn't enjoyed One Piece up until that point could still potentially fall in love with it.

After that, the probability of it happening collapses to pretty much zero. And is exactly zero by the end of Marineford.

To be honest if you don't like One Piece by like shanks flashback (anime ep 4,Manga first chapters) it's not for you.

and I want to experience it without spoilers

You'll get spoiled by leakers anyway.

yeah watch the 1120 episode anime

Or, One Pace which is less than 500 episodes and covers all of the series up to the halfway point of Wano with zero gaps as of today.
Alabasta and Water Seven are even higher peaks, sure, but Arlong Park is enough of a litmus test. If you don't feel the least bit invested in it after then, it's not going to happen.

I prefer Water 7 over Enies Lobby.
Water 7 was more fun. The world building was more interesting and I liked the mystery and Robin's betrayal.

Absolutely. The start of Enies Lobby was great, but the cavalcade of straw hats jobbing (the Sanji and Sogeking humiliation rituals were especially awful) and trading for better matchups, then mid-diffing a fucking Buster Call really brought down its quality.

Was the train arc Enies Lobby or Water 7? It wad more interesting that Enies Lobby. The characters there like T-Bone were also more interesting than the characters that Enies Lobby introduced.

It's a bit of a transitional oddball mini-arc, but the opening not changing until they leave it suggests that it counts as part of Water 7. T-Bone was done extremely dirty for being such a likable character.

It doesn't.

The only reason I keep reading this shit is that when the ending drops it will be the biggest event in the internet history and I want to experience it without spoilers

There is a very real chance the mangaka dies before finishing it. The berserk author died at 54 and he took a lot more breaks than Oda who is now 50.

but Arlong Park is enough of a litmus test. If you don't feel the least bit invested in it after then, it's not going to happen.

In general I agree. But there are plenty of examples of people for whom it takes considerably longer to get on board. For example, maybe the help me scene emotionally moves them but the rest of the Arlong Park arc ends up being a miss. Which is enough for them to half-heartedly continue with the series until Alabasta hooks them. Water Seven being the most extreme case. After that, its a lost cause.

one piece peaked with Long Ring Long Land

In retrospect, Oda was clearly trying to make the reader think about the world being flooded what with the heavy focus on tides swallowing landmasses in LRLL and W7.

The end of Skypiea is good. Then it's good overall minus certain parts until the timeskip, at which point the repetitiveness goes into overdrive and the characters get insanely boring too.

You don't like alabasta 2.0 after alabasta, or the next arc being Robin arc, alabasta 3.0 fish version, alabasta 4.0, Robin's arc 2.0 with cook this time, and alabasta 5.0 with swords this time.

Yep pretty much

It was fun because it broke the usual cycle and took a break.
Need more arcs like this. One Piece is all about the conquering and Luffy's raperace now.
