So is this worth watching for fans of old-school shoujo Magical Girls? Is it a return to form for the Magical Girl genre before it got canabalized by yuritroon old men and toy shilling toddler slop, or is it just more of the same Bandai-sponsored shit?
Is it an actual SHOUJO meant for teen girls in the same vein as CCS and Tokyo Mew Mew or is it just a Precure clone?
It's most closely related to Symnphogear given it shares a creator, and that's a show that is closest to Nanoha in its inspirations. PO reminds me of Sailor Moon in its use of toku tropes and references. It's definitely got some Precure in it given it's trying to compete, but it's definitely not blindly ripping off Cure either.
As for toy shilling, that's how shows sell. PO does it the same as Cure and all the rest. If that's a turn-off, then the entire Anime industry is a turn-off.
Just watch episode 1 and see for yourself. If you don't like it, don't watch any more.
