It's written by the same guy responsible for original SAC. ofc it's at least decent, Anon Babble simply doesn't watch anime.
SAC was a very mediocre show with dull presentation (except for the music I guess) whose ideas are straight downgrades compared to the manga or previous adaptations, but gets a good rep because of babby's first conspiracy plot and some embarrassing sentimental bullshit.
SAC was a sociopolitical commentary, which was a completely different direction from the manga/movies.

It's just a good SAC story and characters are true to their SAC versions, just for that alone it's worth a watch. I might actually like this Batou more than any other one, he's just a bit more upbeat here. It can look a bit janky but if you can't move past that then how the fuck did you watch SAC itself, it looked pretty shit at times
People keep making fun of it but this was the first appearance of "newtype" in the show and that's why he behaves so weirdly. Yeah he doesn't move like a human, or like a cyborg. Cause he's neither, he's a weird new thing. He moves as if he's being remotely controlled by someone that doesn't understand the limits of the human body, or the fact that you should cover up your dick and balls
Also the sound design of the show is really good. It sounds like a well produced movie, and the cast is amazing of course. Music isn't quite up there to Yoko Kanno tier but it's trying, it's still pretty good
