To Be Hero X
Fuck, did I miss the main thread or was the episode released later than usual? Wasn't downloaded by taiga an hour ago yet when I checked something.
Well it's pretty obvious that E-Soul's manager setup the hit. The show PV already spoiled the fact that E-Soul and Yang are going to be duking it out next week. E-Soul is likely unaware of what his manager even did, but I guess that is the price he pays.
Enlighter showing up again was cool.
Enlightener was unironically a good guy who just wanted people to know the truth about their heroes.
For that one anon that is a Dragonboy fag
To be a hero, the bullet must dodge you.
It's out now, so now you can enjoy it.
Wanted to go to bed but had to watch that first. Great episode again. I like the whole E-Soul plot way more now. Episode 5 was great too but made me fear that his arc would be lame but now I doubt it. Interesting to see a copycat hero with an original who is still alive. Wonder what will happen with that dude next episode.
Isn't this a Spiderman subplot?
Where's the next episode preview at?
I don't think we are getting any resolution to whatever happened on the beach unless the last few minutes of E-Soul's arc cuts back to it. The question is probably going to be left up in the air for a while. The only thing we kind of got is that the suit Shang designed for Yang seems to be a match for the suit at the beach. 5 years is a decent amount of time and anything can really happen in 5 years.
Yeah I become more and more of an Enlightener fag. This guy is the real hero.
I like that they showed Enlighter in a good light this time. Makes him a much more three-dimensional character.
I wonder what caused the change. With how mad he was about Ling pretending to be Nice you would assume he wouldn't be a fan of fake E-Souls either.
But maybe it's because Yang is honest and never pretended to be E-Souls.
That's probably it.
Yang's arc has given us in-sight into what it means to have zero trust ranking so I imagine seeing your trust ranking drop like a fly is what drove Enlighter to embrace fear because his own trust was falling like a rock. It's also a case of Enlighter wasn't really wrong because Nice was a "fake" but the person behind Nice wasn't some person just taking advantage of it all. It was also really the fanbase that was driving the conflict between Yang and E-Soul, so Yang cannot really be blamed for that because he was open about being Yang as his popularity as the "New" E-Soul went up. E-Soul honestly doesn't seem interested in the entire ordeal at all and simply just wants to be an old school hero, but the current era of heroes is tied to marketing.
I just don't get how Yang Cheng isn't fast enough to either grab his Lucky Cyan tickets that he left behind or at the very least stop the guy that shot at Shang Chao. Like they showed us how fast he could run so how come his powers aren't working properly here?
Indeed, it's a shame he was Lin's villain but also I guess it shows his downfall to obsession because of the hero nonsense just like Moon, Nice, Mr. Stand-o and the rest I'm sure. I wonder how X will play into this theme of the hero industry being some meatgrinder
Fake E-soul is genuinely a good guy who isn't propped up by a pre-existing brand like ourguy Nice, he genuinely had his own high stakes no power fight, I think the fact that people know he's just some dude instead of the Nice- case where Lin Ling is parading around as a dead man probably made him get big Mad. Also, Lin Ling made him lose trust value and got him punched on his own show because of the villain dude so he had more personal beef with Nice
Maybe he needs to be in full costume to be E-soul properly instead of just shock, but I assume E-souls powers work off of turning your legs into a mag rail like in trains so you need conductive gear for that
Fast doesn't equal speed of light. The slow motion makes it seem like the criminal was waiting a moment and that Yang was running normally, but it probably happened in a fraction of a second.
but also I guess it shows his downfall to obsession because of the hero nonsense just like Moon, Nice, Mr. Stand-o and the rest I'm sure
Good point. Enlighter is all about truth and honesty. He is obsessed with heroes and hates what heroes are about to become. Now thinking about it he must have disliked old E-Souls by now. A guy who rather bothers with marketing than solving crime. This might be the reason for helping Yang, besides the sense of justice I mean.
Is it common for Chinese media to rely on ending every episode on a twist/cliffhanger, or is it just this show?
quiet threads
slow burn in popularity
characters interacting with each other
This is basically Chinese Ishura and I appreciate it fully!
Ishura
I didn't even bother with S2 because I heard the tournament STILL wouldn't start. I'll catch up if there's a third one.
Is it really like Ishura? I watched the first episodes of that and didn't really like it.
What was the point of spending that time setting up a triangle if they were just kill the other guy? Could at least have had the two guys interact more, I couldn't even tell you how they felt about each other or how this death affects Yang.
This was a startlingly good episode, especially given how short the runtime is.
Enlightener is a truth-seeker who lives in a society where the truth isn't just worthless, lies actually give you superpowers. He's doomed from the start.
Heh, social credit score memes doesn't help me laughing at this.
Brother, it was never meant to be a triangle. They pretty much revealed the whole thing at the start of this episode. Yang and Xia likes each other but Yang doesn't have the confidence. The Shang Chao just cares about hero shit.
If you watch it and get other people to watch it, we may get a Season 3. Personally, I thought Season 2 was better paced because Kuuro is around for most of it compared to Yuno from Season 1.
It's slowly building up to be that; currently we're getting background on the heroes and other Anons have said that this is leading up to a tournament (provided we get another season).
My speculation is that it will drive Yang into a corner and make him believe he needs to cut everyone out in his life because anyone associating with him could end up in the crossfire even though this whole thing likely happened because E-Soul's manager is being a fucking asshole.
It could be the first steps of how Yang goes from this kind young man into whatever the hell he is when he possibly capped Moon.
The Shang Chao just cares about hero shit.
Did you miss the part where Xia stated Shang had confessed to her? It may also been she could have been lying to see what kind of reaction Yang would have, but she also told him before Shang was shot that she wasn't going to wait around forever for Yang.
If you watch it and get other people to watch it
I torrent everything.
It's funny, I've basically never seen a dynamic where the rich guy who might be cucking the hero is actually a straight-up good guy who rolls in to save the day.
I liked that this episode shows how a weak-willed hero can quickly fall under the sway of a company or just a charismatic sponsor, basically allowing them to turn the new guy into their puppet while deliberately undermining the old one.
but she also told him before Shang was shot that she wasn't going to wait around forever for Yang.
I'd like to know what the original Chinese said, because the Japanese says the opposite. She says she'll always wait for him regardless in Japanese.
It may also been she could have been lying to see what kind of reaction Yang would have, but she also told him before Shang was shot that she wasn't going to wait around forever for Yang.
Wait, I'm confused what you're implying here? Are you implying that she's gonna leave Yang for Shang if he doesn't get his shit together? I'm pretty certain Xia is lying about Shang confessing to her and she's trying hard to push Shang to be honest with himself. They clearly like each other so I don't know what you're proving here.
This show is exactly like ishura where it's 24 episodes of straight worldbuilding and character intros, with the 24th episode being about the strongest character. And the actual tournament won't start unless we get a potential next season
Wait, was that Blankster?
Did they literally hire an evil black man to shoot a handsome Chinese entrepreneur in the face? If so, that's hilarious.
But yeah the first season/volume of ishura is generally regarded as the weakest because it covered the most unlikable characters which caused most people to drop it, but S2 is great
Whereas TBHX is great from the start
I also used torrents, but watched it with a normie who pays for access to Hulu.
I think it's the same dude who has been a thorn in Yang's side the entire arc. It's also how you know it's probably E-Soul's manager who called the hit because he tracked down the guys to get them to say shit about Yang in the first place.
AHHHHHH SAVE ME FROM THE BLACK MAN E-SOUL
I think the funniest part of this whole saga is that it will never, ever be considered anime. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the show, but the subtext is deeply amusing.
The Chinese want to be taken seriously SO HARD. They really want to go "See, we can make animu like the Japanese devils, stupid pig followers!" to the point this is like a 80% Japanese production.
And it won't work for the reason Solo Leveling didn't work, because they're trying too hard.
I mean if the guy who might be about to cuck me was in danger of getting shot, it would be REALLY tragic if I just...couldn't...move...fast...enough to save him.
Don't worry, I'll be sure to comfort his newly bereaved girlfriend, mostly with my tongue down her throat.
The animation reminds me more of Arcane and that's french.
I mean it WAS their fault for copyright infringement. The manager could've just sued though.
I starting to think this is a 500 IQ play from Sheng Cao to create his own E-Soul to replace the original and surpass his father. All the way from the kidnapping at the start
Frankly, I think the original E-Soul is probably going to be in on it. He'll deliberately lose the final fight so what's-his-name can take over, since he's old and tired. He visibly goes out of his way not to defend himself when he starts losing popularity.
also doesn't care about whatever his manager says or does.
How would the original E-Soul know about the little brother? Did he just decide to pick Yang for no reason after the imitation contest?
He's already known Yang from a very early age, since he saw his parents die. He may have been keeping tabs on him and grooming him into his replacement.
I guess we gotta wait for the Lucky Cyan, Queen, Loli episodes for this anime to be more popular on Anon Babble.
