Oshi no Ko

Never let Aka write again.

poor ending.jpg - 1100x1548, 289.33K

Didn't they announce a new manga for Aka x another artist back when OnK ended? What came of that?

He should write Yuri romance. Yuri prints money nowadays.

It was Oshikko all along.

It's like you people didn't learn anything from the Kaguya train wreck.

There's Maerchen Crown that's been running for a while, he's one of the writers of it, don't know how much of it is by him though.

What a waste of a fucking time

I don't think it has its own threads like OnK did, right? It would be quite shocking if even a place like Anon Babble gave up on him genuinely

Yeah no one seems to give a shit about it, I dropped it a couple chapters ago too.

I fucking hate Ruby so goddamn much it's unreal

His new manga got axed yet?

Never let Aka breath again.

I have never in my life been so upset because of a fictional story and probably will never be again

Vol 1 isn't out yet so it hasn't had the chance to bomb.

I was a way harder hit with Attack on Titan because I followed that series for over 9 years and the peaks were much higher. Worse than that, the lows were much lower.

The only acceptable way to end it was by having the two dead retards reincarnate as Ruby's kids.

What odds would you guys give:

Anime original ending

S4 postponed forever

They just bite the bullet and follow the manga

You should've seen the writing in the wall when crow loli was introduced, I pretty much lost any emotional investment Ihad in this manga when that happened

it was my first Aka manga and I coped that he actually had a plan and it would all be resolved coherently

Pretty much. Both the magical crow loli which was used solely as a plot developing device and the acting arc that looked nowhere near how acting actually looks like signaled pretty evidently homie can't write for shit. I still kept on reading it as I was too invested, much like other people

I'm thinking Arima Kana won

I'm thinking Memcho won

he's one of the writers of it,

He just made the rough draft ofnthe characters and the overall concept.
The artist is the record of ragnarok bitch and the writers are a commitee. This shit screams corporate manga all the way.

When Aka runs out of money after doing nothing but playing Apex, you just now.

40/20/40
If they had waited until the manga finished before announcing S3, they could've just left the anime in limbo like Kaguya. But if they're gonna adapt S3, may as well go all the way. Besides, new B-Komachi dressed as old B-Komachi for the movie arc means they can double up on the merch, plus they finally have an excuse to dress Akane as an idol.

When Aka runs out of money after doing nothing but playing Apex, you just now.

He wants to become a farmer in a backwater prefecture and give up on manga tho.
Maybe he will settle down there with a cute inaka fatfuck who will be his 3rd love, and the definite one, because people fall in love thrice in his life.

I just love it so much that she leaves through an insecure door, without wearing even a light disguise. It's like she wants to die the same way as her mother.

It's like she wants to die the same way as her mother.

You're probably more on the nose than you realise.

the acting arc that looked nowhere near how acting actually looks like

You mean Tokyo Blade?

Anime original ending

Always this cope.

You're probably more on the nose than you realise

However, Crow needs Ruby to be her puppet idol for as long as her amusement can allow it, so she'll asspull Melt saving Ruby from wanting to join Aqua and Ai.

ACKa and Mongo Yokoyari

I pretty much checked out of SnK after Eren got precognition. That's one of those plots like time travel that is fundamentally a bad idea that can never be done well. I didn't even like it in Dune.

It's weird how the ending was so obvious, yet Akasaka went in a completely wrong direction for no reason.
The obvious thing would've been to make the movie about the father, paint him as a terrible monster, and destroy him socially, with the help of every other character. Spread the rumor that he's a murderer, too. The entire series used the viciousness of the Internet as a plot device, so make that the weapon Aqua uses against his father, as a demonstration of how he grew as a character. Do that, and then have some obsessed crackhead Ai fan kill the now-disgraced Kamiki, not through some masterplan, but an actual freak accident that Ai's murder was made to look like. And then do the incest romance ending to spite the normalfags. It would've been so much better.

Mengo is good. Just let her go wild and rewrite the ending.

Certainly a way better artist than Akasaka.

I honestly thought 166.5 was a fan made chapter until the last few pages returned to Mengo's art. Shit looked like chicken scratch.

Never read it, what exactly is so bad about Kaguya?

Dropped it shortly after this

You know how some people say that romance manga shouldn't end at the confession scene? Kaguya showed them why they're wrong.

to spite the normalfags

Aka himself is one
It was obvious that he would be too much of a coward to write an incest ending

Pretty much this.

One of the biggest reveals in the story and HACKa had to use a literal deus ex machina for it.

They wouldn't need to change much to make the ending more acceptable.

Nino somehow evades arrest, or commits suicide in custody before spilling the beans about Kamiki's merry band of murders

Kamiki or one of his underlings blocks the release of the movie

There, now it makes more sense that Aqua will resort to the hasty murder suicide plan, instead of just waiting for the police and the court of public opinion to do their things. Aqua and Kamiki go swimming, Gotanda and Kaburagi push ahead with releasing the movie now that Kamiki isn't around to block anything, and super sleuth Akane unravels the remainder of the Kamiki network to tie off the loose ends. For bonus points, copy the live action version and have Aqua get mortally wounded before confronting Kamiki, so it doesn't look like he's just throwing his life away unnecessarily.
Shippers will still complain, but tying everything into the S1 and S2 EDs will wow the mainstream audiences enough to drown them out.

Akasaka is a decent writer, but he's also a retard. For instance, he only killed off Ai because he felt she was too great. He couldn't come up with a way to make Aqua and Ruby get out of her shadow. So he killed her off. That's the kind of a writer he is. He can't distinguish between good ideas and bad ideas, so he just flies by the seat of his pants. And while this could work as you kick the story off, a good ending requires good planning and setup, so that's why both Love is War and ONK crashed like they did.
And he's not unique in this, Akira Toriyama was the exact same way - writing whatever the fuck he wanted even when it made little sense. A writer like that needs a good editor to tardwrangle him. Toriyama was very lucky in this regard, his editors are legendary and he always mentioned their contributions himself, but Akasaka clearly wasn't. It's a shame, but it is what it is.
I don't think I've ever seen an anime do an original ending because of the manga's poor reception.

and the writers are a commitee

Where did you get this info?

Because they focused on literally everything but the main relationship until the end and didn't actually explore the mental damage of one half of the relationship until a one off epilogue chapter? The mental damage that was brushed aside by him just checking up on his bitch mom on instagram? Because that was the main problem with ppst confession, not the fact that they got together and were now boring, as most iterations of that would go

I could see the obsessed fans trying to kill the kids as well. In a "how dare you disgrace Ai by showing how unintentionally harmful she can be" way or a "how dare you show Ai as a person with feelings, you ungrateful children" way

Incest has no place in modern entertainment. The author is based.

I think putting all the blame on Kamiki would absolve them in the eyes of superfans. Spin it like this - he raped Ai by abusing her innocent nature and abandoned her. But she, the brilliant star that she is, gave birth to the twins (supporting the Japanese demographic situation), and continued being an idol. Kamiki then mercilessly slaughters Ai because he's the devil, but her children continued carrying her torch selflessly.
This frames Ai as the innocent angel, her children as victims who never gave up, and Kamiki as the inhuman root of all evil who deserves death. The truth is more complex, but the story is not about the truth; it's about the lies we tell ourselves and others to make sense of the world.

Composition (AKA writers): Aoikujira

no one knows what that guy is doing in the project, perhaps not even himself

reminder that kana a SHIT.

There's a similar setup for Versus where One is credited with the original story, some other guy is credited with "composition", and another guy is doing art.
Over there, composition means the person who is handling the storyboarding.

She peaks as an idol in 3 years, then retires then retires in 2 more.

She did, the Aqua death gave her the boost to reach 1 million subs.
And her fans were accepting hag lovers.

You're two mangas late, anon

Toriyama was very lucky in this regard, his editors are legendary and he always mentioned their contributions himself, but Akasaka clearly wasn't. It's a shame, but it is what it is.

Kishimoto too. We saw in real time what happens when he isn't tardwrangled. Hacka might as well be delivering his manuscripts to an empty office.

I'm honestly kind of invested in it. Maybe it's just my bias for fantasy shit showing, but I like how they're portraying the fairy tales so far.

Recently dress up darling finished and while it wasn't really that great while it was running, I remember thinking about how it was so refreshing that it had a normal, "boring", non offensive, happy ending. As opposed to other endings in recent time which are either unsatisfying or outright frustrating.

Exactly. Main couple gets together and either the focus goes somewhere else or artifical drama ensures. The thing about happy couples is they don't make for good conflict and storytelling.

See BokuYaba: small drama over small drama into side character focus, and it has been like this since the main couple got together. If they don't have sweaty teenager sex on Christmas Eve next chapter, I'm dropping that turd for good. Goddamn it, I hate it when authors drag their feet.

anon, I...

Aka is a well-adjusted person

typical anon seethe because they don't get everything they want with every character
the last 20 chapters of kaguya are better than 95% of romance manga

footfags

Honestly, I thought that scene was rather kino. It's a lot more creative than the "What if Prince Charming was le heckin' evil!?!?" the manga tried to pull last month.

The thing about happy couples is they don't make for good conflict and storytelling.

There's always a group of people who want romcoms to keep going after the main couple get together but they don't seen to realize how the couple actually dating fundamentally change the nature of the story, the final confession is meant to be the emotional climax so anything after that will always feel dull in comparison, without the chase to drive the story all that's left is endless SoL or forced drama, the stories that can continue after the couple start dating are either SoL from the start or are build so that them getting together is just a stepping stone to whatever goal they're working towards instead of the main focus of the story

This series sucks but this is a banger. I've been boppin to it endlessly now

Why is Kana the thumbnail tho? Ruby and Memcho is miles better than her
