Her entire army of headless suits of armor were heroes that tried to kill her but failed because her ability skillchecks their mana level, and if their mana is less than hers, she can control them like a puppet. Pretty brutal stuff. Plus demons are just fucking warped and deserve death

The Macht arc shows us how demons view morality. Namely, they don't. They're not immoral, they're amoral. They can't understand things like good and evil because they simply don't have the mental framework for it. Think about that one demon girl who was supposedly being rehabilitated. She killed someone to replace the other child she killed because she thought that was logical. Aura would be the same.

The whole point is that demons are all psychopaths. They have no empathy or remorse, no moral compass. Even if you ordered aura to do good, she wouldn't understand what that is. She's incapable of it.
I'm pretty sure that was a plot point with Macht later on too. He was able to act against the spirit of the commandments even when bound because concepts like loyalty or malice just don't apply to him.

She's the one demon that manages to actively get under Frieren's skin with words, even when Frieren knows that demons are just pathological liars. Also beats Frieren in a direct fight, who only manages to kill her by getting outside help at the last second. Plus she gives some nice lore drops about demons and helps us understand what exactly they are.

No. Frieren was not familiar with the fine details of Aura's spell, and you cannot take a demon at their word. Just that it's win condition was who had more mana for the scale to weigh. Killing her was the best way to ensure she never caused trouble again.

Just because you could potentially do other things that take time, doesn't mean you should. Aura always killed her victims with her spell, she might have known there was a time limit or method to break it. Which you can't do if you are dead.

So max assurance is death. And a fun side effect is fans can fanfic all sorts of slavery-rape shit later using it for alt-history smut.

The real question is why didn't Aura recognize THE mage who killed the Demon King and fucked off before she got BTFO? That hubris cost her.
