The Minami arc is complete, which means Towa is next.

Summary for the anons that need it: We open with a flashback from a curious baby Minami pestering her family with questions, only to fade into a conversation with Asuka. Asuka is happy to accept the fellow ocean enjoyer. At Noble Academy, Christmas festivities really get underway as Noble academy's girls have their parties. Talent from all the girls are shown off, while Minami gets a letter from her mom, wishing her the best. Despite last episode, Minami is still uneasy, and taking a call from her mother she starts to fully crack. The girls swoop in for some support and Minami calls her brother for support. On her way to meet him Shut arrives with his last chance MoTW, a knockoff Gamera. Mermaid goes solo and is quickly dragged to Hope Kingdom for the fight. Mermaid's dream is still weak and she's quickly pounded into the groud. Fear not, the others are not far behind and help fend off the MoTW until Mermaid gets her act together. Summoning her full power as Princess of the Sea, she freezes the turtle and the purification happens. Shut runs as Minami purifies her castle. Back to earth Minami and her brother take off to meet their parents where Minami confesses she does not want to be an OL. Her parents shrug it off and express how proud they are regardless. We end with Minami's brother making reservations for a Christmas duck.

I don't recall TR having many problems. The cast was great. Minori had a lot of screen time too so I'm already happy with it.

Back to earth Minami and her brother take off to meet their parents where Minami confesses she does not want to be an OL. Her parents shrug it off and express how proud they are regardless.

Another anon was discussing Saaya with me a week or so ago talking about how they prefered Saaya and back then I was talking a little out my ass because I didn't think Minami would be switching her career. The switch isn't as prodigious as Saaya's, but still fairly similar. Besides the honor of being a doctor, I am also wondering if Saaya gets more love due to the baby buff that was Hugtto's season. She did have a lot of very silly faces around Hug-tan, while Minami's only silly time was really going to Haruka's house.

I can't say I hate it as there is a lot of other stuff happening around it, and I do sort of feel for Minami on not wanting to disappoint her parents.

In other news, Shut's last chance has happened. You anons keep hyping him up so I'm expecting a big turn heel here in a few episodes. Hopefully he isn't smacked like the crab from TR.

Looking back through my screenshots, I'm wondering if some of the problems with Minami's arc is that the writers might have over played their hand here. Like its fine for Minami to be worried about her disappointing her parents, but being brought to tears might be overdramatizing it?

The biggest issue I take with both is that neither Saaya nor Minami's choice to take different life paths has any meaningful stakes attached since if things go south for either of them, they can just drop back and pull the nepotism card, picking right back up from where they left off to do something arguably more prestigious and better compensated. The idea is nice and makes for decent character arcs that strongly align with the values of the series, but it's kind of shallow at the end of the day if you bother to contemplate it afterwards.
To be fair this is kind of a "problem" with lots of fictional works in general and definitely not limited to Precure.

I do sort of feel for Minami on not wanting to disappoint her parents.
