Jojolands isn't really overrated or overhated. It's just overlooked and there's a lack of enthusiasm.
But I almost never see negativity about it except for the culture war bullshit.
I don't think a Jojo part has ever gotten this treatment before, other than the entire series pre-anime, I guess.

The part so bad that it killed interest in the next part. Reviewing it through the lens of a completed thing might make it a little bit better, but we gotta remember people had to wait months for this. It also feels like we way too much of an experimental part, and most of the concepts it wanted didn't work

SBR is more popular than SO and might become more popular than parts 1, 2 and 5 with the anime adaption.

Part 6 was peak Jojo of it's time, only surpassed by SBR and maybe will be surpassed by Jojolands in the future.
Top tier stands, top tier MC, top tier antagonist, Top tier ending if you are older than 15, even Araki recognizes he was at the peak of his creativity during SO.
Part 6 is the Fallout New Vegas of Jojo, an entry everyone knows it's the best but most people try to ignore it's status as the best because other entries in the saga are more popular so in order to keep the "hecking wholesome positity" people just go with "All entries are good!" Or "please don't argue what entry is the best!"
It really says a lot when even the haters only have 3 arguments against it

From what I've seen, nips don't give a shit about Jojolion. It always ranks dead last in polls, even below Stone Ocean.

In hindsight we're amazingly fortunate Araki didn't throw in another stand of the week after Kira died in DiU.
