Nope, season 1 is a bunch of episodic and largely original shit that only exists to introduce you to and make you lust over the characters. Seasons 2 and 3 are both structured as two larger arcs with a handful of filler episodes spaced pretty evenly and considerably less fanservice compared to S1.

Every season has a main arc that goes for 60-70% of the season and then one or two filler arcs. Just watch the main arcs and be done with it, although I liked the filler episodes too.
Did you know that megane Anti-Skill was edgy and evil all along? The author retconned her being edgy and evil like 15+ years after her appearance in that episode, but it's okay since she was forgiven later to maintain the status quo and she acts like the same bumbling megane again.
The sad part is that Railgun is the best part of the franchise.

I'm not saying CGDCT is bad, i like CGDCT but coming from Index i was expecting more fights and more worldbuilding with a great cast of new characters. The CGDCT in Railgun S1 is just shit. I don't know about the sequels.

Anon.... the first season of the Railgun anime came out 16 years ago. Index was much further along sure and they did fuck that up but Railgun's main issue is that when the first anime season aired they vol 3 of the manga (which covers just the start of the Sisters arc) hadn't been released yet. the Volume that finished the Sisters arc didn't release till a year and a half after the anime ended. Season 2 came out in 2013 before the 3rd manga arc finished, and as such the last 8 episodes are an anime only arc that's technically canon.
Season 3 came in 2020, so 5 years ago now and we are only getting somewhat close to having 2 full arcs of content for Season 4 (Jailbreaker and Freshman) and frankly the 2nd arc of Season 2 was less filler than the freshman arc is.

this is just Railgun in general. its in fucking OT lmao, nothing they do matters or changes Mikoto's character in any way, period. So the only value it can have is cute girls doing cute things before getting ryona'd and cutely bleeding out in torn apart clothes. This arc has already delivered on the first part and now has the potential to be kino if Sha goes on a a proper rampage and Mikoto learns to be a loner the fun way.

You should have started with Railgun. I started with Railgun and liked it a lot. Then I watched Index and got really bored with the nun and the wizards. It wasn't until episode 10 when Mikoto and Kuroko appear that it gets good.
The people that come for violence and chuuni bullshit usually get attracted to and watch index first. The CGDCT group would go for railgun first and not typically like index. I remember wanted to blow my brains out through 80% of railgun season 1.
