The abyss when it got made in or whatever lol didn't read
Made in abyss
Will ANYTHING stop her?
Based on From Star Strings MiA probably won't have an epic ending. Not every mystery will be solved, let's at least hope Riko will meet Lyza.
Non-compliance with modern day accessibility standards.
that's a fake wheelchair she's not actually crippled in the good universe
Riko: fucked up hand
Reg: fucked up arm
Nanachi: fucked up leg
Faputa: can regenerate anything that gets fucked up
reg just needs some superglue and it'd be like it never even happened
More proof Nanch is a girl. Reg gets hard from boobs and Nanachi.
We don’t know if she can regenerate now that she ate the whole village.
I'd consider her transformation from a character into a mascot as a sort of disability.
I can't believe I'm going to end up feeling nostalgic for spike chunslop's MiA:BSFD game.
I can already tell it's going to be strong, just listening to the soundtrack right now.
It feels like it just came out not that long ago.
I'm happy that we got what we did instead of a low effort VN or some cashgrab gachaslop
I really hope we get a similar game when the show ends so we can explore the deeper layers somehow.
I remember there being a few good songs and some actual tense moments before I realized I could fast travel. I have mixed feelings about the game. It's just bad in many regards, but it feels like there was a heartfelt attempt to try to do justice to the IP. It was really neat to be able to spend time and interact with the characters from the early chapters and there was some cool lore stuff that was discussed in the game. But it's also impossible to know what can be considered Tsukushi approved canon or not. It was really held back by a lack of talent, time and resources on the part of the developer.
Sou desu, watashi wa Fluffzen.
As Even In Abyss
I love my wife Nanachi!
But it's also impossible to know what can be considered Tsukushi approved canon or not.
Kiyui going to the 2nd through 4th layers to collect scales and shells is definitely canon.
As many anons in the past have said - it's deeply flawed, but it's an okay first draft for what a really solid MIA game could and should be. The core gameplay loop is extremely satisfying, but many features are ungracefully executed, some of the map designs outside of the established locations are a bit lacking, the combat is schwarbage, and the creature AI is pretty stilted.
The same core gameplay loop with much more fleshed out survival, crafting, and combat mechanics and a more well-thought-out level design and more complex creature behavior would make it a top shelf game. The Abyss needs to feel like a very lived-in world that's just doing its own thing and doesn't really give a shit about you, and where you could just as easily spend a sortie grinding for relics and running from splitjaws as you could wandering aimlessly picking flowers or watching a neritantan try to roll a piece of fruit up a hill.
I never felt bad for Mitty's death. She was nothing but a plot device.
I loved talking with anons about discovering the best routes through the layers or which foods were best to bring in terms of hunger vs weight
That unironically made the experience feel a little more authentic.
How many more hours until I can see my wife Faputa again?
when the arc ends. 2.5years*(365+0.5)d*24h? and some
someone suggested that Reg could get kidnapped by the sniper and company and Faputa bursts into rage in an attempt to rescue him finally allowing Tsukushi to draw less characters and focus on Faputa's human form, I can see that happening.
Reg can't be kidnapped, he needs to take care of Nanachi, emotionally support sherumenae and haffu-haffy his moffu
Ending when? Season 3 when?
I hope next chapter we get more Kirinia/clawbot
Nothing ever happens
Ragu needs to get kidnapped so his wife has something to do aside from be a background blob
Reg getting kidnapped and mistreated already happened
What if Riko is the one who gets kidnapped
i love Nanachi!!!
I never found any of the mutated lolis interesting other than Prushka. The whole trauma-rape-mutation thing isn't especially appealing (except to muh dik) although at least it does fit in with the whole desires and wishes theme.
It's disappointing there will probably never be a good MiA game. The whole spelunk genre, for lack of a better word, is cursed. You've got minecraft which can do tension and exploration really well, but doesn't have a framework to actually make exploration feel meaningful. Terraria has the right outline but past a certain point feels more like a mix of boss rush and resource grind.
Honestly I've kinda felt like you could totally do a MiA-themed rogue-style RPG like CDDA or Caves of Qud with lots of in-depth system autism and it'd work for the series. Especially if you factor in stuff like narehate transformations, relic upgrades/experimentation a la LobCorp where you need to learn how they work yourself and potentially risk adverse effects/death of yourself and/or party members or find field guide pages that detail examination done by prior delvers so you can avoid making needless sacrifices, etc.
