A fantasy manga picks up a lot of steam

a fantasy manga picks up a lot of steam

it only has enough material for a season and a half

don't wait, adapt it right away

Literally why would they do that? The story is left unresolved and there's not even a chance for a proper resolution. Either there won't be a second season at all, or it will come out many years later, when nobody remembers this show anymore.

Haste makes waste.

Bold of you to assume there would still be interest in a show like this once the manga actually finishes or accumulates enough material
They saw they could make a quick buck and rolled with it

Why would there not be enough interest once it finishes?

So they made a quick buck... where they could've made ten bucks if they were more patient and strategic. Sasuga. Real Japanese business acumen right here.

Because the elf boom in anime is not going to last forever
It was caused by Frieren and will end with Frieren or even earlier

Correct, one dollar right now is more valuable than ten bucks in the future, this is investment 101

spending a dollar now to get ten later is exactly what investment is, retard

You do realize this is a LN with several volumes released right

stop reading manga adaptations of light novels you goof

You don't understand what I mean, I mean return on investment
Getting a smaller return right now is generally preferable to getting a larger return in the future, especially if it's a distant future and your RoI is not guaranteed (which it generally never is)

Doesn't matter, the anime is based on the manga. It actually follows the manga frame for frame with the exception of some cut content. So in order to adapt directly from the LN they would need to design the characters themselves; design the backgrounds themselves; compose the shots, do the choreography, edit the dialogue and do all that heavy lifting that the manga already did for them. That'd cost several times more than just animating the manga. Can it happen? Well, theoretically, it's not impossible, but will it happen? You know the answer.

Literally why? Manga can make the worst LN's palatable. If anything, I'd recommend the opposite.

Kill yourself retarded zoomer

It was caused by Frieren

Yeah, about that...

thread about anime

stop reading manga

???

Most series deflate towards the end.
It's not like a book where you read it whole or not
A manga could easily have hundred if chapters and readers could abandon the ship at any moment.
By the time is finished it could not have more fans interested in the anime if the end was crap

Cope, nobody cared about elves until Frieren became the best selling manga of all time
More people know Deedlit from her indie metroidvania these days than from her ancient show

Also gg using "zoomer" as an insult when the main audience that modern anime is made for is literally zoomers, and it's going to get even more skewed by the time the elf-san manga ends

Most series deflate towards the end.

Any data to support that? Series that deflate never end, they're simply axed.

Are you new to anime? Unfinished shit get adapted every year since the 60s.

People shouldn't judge manga by its source material. It's the highest rated reverse isekai on mangadex. And anyway, if you're avoiding mangas based on ranobe, you're soon not going to have anything to read at all.

Yeah, but they used to make their own endings before br*therhood ruined that approach for everyone.

mangafag can't use his imagination to fill the gaps and NEEDS someone to do all the work for him

Many such cases!

when nobody remembers this show anymore

I will never forget this show.

This is not an issue. The problem is that the quality of prose in lightnovels is very low, whereas art quality in a manga can be really high (in this case, it is).

Rabid simps aren't a lucrative enough audience to bet big money on it.

where they could've made ten bucks if they were more patient and strategic

Or maybe they could not. Maybe they would LOSE ten bucks. See how that works?

It's alright, but I can't see why people are gushing so much about it

hawt diggity dawg

Literally why would you watch this unless you're a rabid simp?

Clearly you don't read enough isekai manga. And that is a good thing!

Because it's comfy

It has really nicely realised romance between two awkward, autistic people. This is always cute and relatable if you're into romantic stories.
Alternatively, you might be a rabid weeb.

More people know Deedlit from her indie metroidvania these days than from her ancient show

I don't even know what you're talking about.

It's cute how fake oldfags can't explain why there was more elves in 2025 alone than in the entire decade of the 2010's.

It ain't that good for a weeb unless you're the kind of weeb who cums buckets at the sight of rice

And thanks goodness for that. FMAB >>> OG

If I had to guess, it's because of numerous isekai adaptations that tend to include elves rather than because of the elves themselves.

isekai adaptations that tend to include elves

Now ask yourself: why does it have to include elves now?

Sure as hell wasn't because of Frieren. Re:zero was what started the isekai wave and it has an elf as the main girl. Frieren only started publication 8 years later. Also, going even farther back, the first notable isekai show was called Those Who Hunt Elves. People just want to fuck elves and it has nothing to do with Frieren.

God, this poster looks so much fun
Modern anime is fucking miserable

lol
