I don't think I've ever liked a final episode. Closest one is maybe Mahou's, but they actually were doing stuff in that rather than completely moping about. The new Cure tease was terrible "Oh look at my phone!" And then Yuki pulls the right move.
The first ten minutes were really sweet with Subaru getting his relief and everyone passing on. Satoru did make a great point about Subaru's journal possibly shaping the rest of Animal town to stop such atrocities.
Also holy hell was it Jarring when the whore was like: "Lol, bye thanks for all your voices." Once again the mirror stone proving to be the better God by giving the voices back.
That's all for wonderful. Next up is either GoPri, Yes5, or all the way back to Futari since I have my hands on a copy of the dub; yes I know its 4kids, I watched it on my local Fox channel as a kid.

Mirror stone is best bro. Half-jokes aside, I'd say GoPri has a really solid final episode. And quite a few other seasons IMO, though depending on what seasons you've watched, I can see why you might have an opinion like that.

There's usually not much happening in a final episode. Usually everyone just trying and failing to take enjoyment that it happened. Its the same thing just about every season. Oh and then its seemingly retconned at the last minute by some force or other. Its not that I hate it, but its just sort of boring.

Yeah probably the best part of that episode. Usually its all done in the previous episode, but they spilled over into the final, improving the usual affair quite nicely.

I have watched TR, and again arbitrary reason that separates everyone only for another arbitrary reason for them to get back together. That being said Laura's way around the memory wipe was pretty good and gave the Generals something to help with.

I think there's a difference between you hating a character, and the actual finale being "bad". Not many people are going to say they love the star princesses, but their role doesn't make it a bad final boss, the finale is just like a greek tragedy with greek gods.

The setup in TR had a lot of build up, only the resolution was rushed.
Still, I think Maho and ST were a cute above the rest using the separation plot point, the delivery was emotional and the timeskip helped to give it weight. You can't put it on the same level as something like the HS """separation""" or even this WP one.

That was set up the same way it was in Maho. I don't see how anyone could have a problem with that.
There was also more to the episode than the separation. The play was great and showed how everyone had grown.

True, but they wanted an emotional scene out of nothing, the animators did well but its place in the plot is kinda weird.
