Will it be kino?
Will it be kino?
If it's like old Koukaku Kidoutai anime retaining its spirit then yes.
YOUR favorite 90s anime WILL BE REBOOTED and you WILL BE HAPPY.
I really like everything we’ve seen about it so far, but that’s very little.
Not a reboot dumbass.
Took them over 30 years but we're finally getting a Ghost in the Shell adaptation.
What are you talking about, we got one all the way back in 1995
I've been waiting literal decades for this kind of adaption!
Can you be any more of a newfag? Lurk
Battle Angel Alita deserved an adaptation more
Not a chance, it's like the most idiotic idea for an adaptation. Manga is too silly for le elitists and too dated for people who didn't care about gits
The movie already was, but if they are really following the manga it will still be good but not as good as the movie
that hair
Nature is healing.
it kind of is
we are so back
The manga is way better than the movie. The movie isn’t even really GitS. It just uses some of the characters..
No we didn't
Got to be honest if this is the direction modern anime is going in then I can't help but actually be somewhat hopeful.
Also
Better than Arise worse than SAC
The manga is way better than the movie
It's not, it's barely distinct from any other buddy-cop-female-lead manga
I like the art style. Thanks god it's no Ooshii shit
No it isn’t
contrarians on Anon Babbleddit hate Oshii now
YES
WE
Where did this influx of Oshii hate come from? There wasn’t this much in the past GITS threads.
haven't people hated oshii since innocence
Oshii called Miyazaki a talentless hack in an interview
DID
Not an argument
not an adaptation of the manga
You call that an adaptation of the manga? It certainly was not, I like the 1995 movie but it was not an adaptation of the actual manga.
Soul.
You are so gay
What the fuck is this slop?
source?
source?
can you link that up?
source?
mmmmmYes it is an argument
mmmmmmmmmmYes it is an adaptation of the manga
I can't google for it because it's in japanese
t. never read the manga
Chibi 95 Motoko is adorable.
i read it, did you?
It'd be nice if this trend of minimalism actually brings us around back to more simple styles from the 80s and early 90s with flatter, harder cel colors instead of overly lightbloomed and washed out modern stuff.
It's just kinda funny that it took about 30 years for an -actual- adaptation to happen
It was better than the manga.
I did, I find it hard to believe you actually read it if you consider the 1995 movie an actual adaptation of the manga.
And here I thought that he couldn't get any more based...
Where did this influx of Oshii hate come from?
It was always here. He turned GitS into pseudointellectual realistic slop.
Even though I disagree that the movie was better than the manga, you know you just admitted it was not an adaptation of the actual manga just now right?
A lot of newfags read the manga for the first time last year and now think that hating on Oshii makes them sound like they have good taste.
Cyberpunk finally
this cope again
Are they finally going to adhere to the manga and make her a sassy gremlin?
of course not
ENOUGH OF THE BLACKPILLING.
You say it as if that's a bad thing
it can still be good, enjoyable, just don't expect the world from a seasonal thing riding on name value
Science Saru is Trigger without soul
2d4u crowd + liking 'retro' anime aesthetics is a popular personality replacement. see also: pretending to be a desert rose or you're under arrest fan
Trigger relinquished soul with Cybertroonshit
The hell is an adaptation to you then? This seems completely arbitrary. Is the Jojo 93 OVA "not an adaptation" of Jojo because it doesn't math up panel for panel? Is Akame ga Kill "not an adaptation" because it doesn't match up story beat for story beat? Is FMA 2003? Hell, the live action Dragonball adaptation is an adaptation of DB, whether you like it or not.
If I may be so rude, it seems like you mean to say: "I don't consider the Ghost in the Shell 1995 movie to be a *faithful* adaptation because it departs from Shirow's original in terms of direction and aesthetic, therefore I don't give it far less consideration than would be appropriate for a work with such high reputation."
*therefore I give it far less consideration
Yes
Cyberpunk has way too many transhumanist themes for modern audiences. They think "boy what a cool aesthetic" then the story begins and it's full of body mods, body swaps, and ensuing questions about identity in a world of runaway technology and people start getting uncomfortable. It happens every time, and you'd better believe it will happen with any sort of faithful adaptation of Shirow's work.
people start getting uncomfortable
At least when people got uncomfortable with identity issues back then I didn't have to hear near endless yowling about trannies and jews
its an 80s manga adaptation actually
