Today I will make a Haifuri thread. I think this was supposed to be Girls and Panzers but with boats but they fucked up. Captain Mike is cute.
Today I will make a Haifuri thread...
GuP was Strike Witches with tanks tho
Ok? Ok? No, they didn't fuck up, it was decent show for what it was.
It had the zombie hamsters or what ever and it got ruined.
Strike Witches has also gotten shit now. We can't have a teen lesbian pantyshot anime anymore.
It had so much potential.
It's funny whenever I come across a random new Haifuri art by someone who remembers this show
I seem to be of the minority opinion that the zombie hamsters weren't that stupid. You're already watching a show where high school girls are piloting WW2 warships. At that point you should just suspend all disbelief and accept whatever happens.
Please do another collab I want Graf Spee.
I agree. They were stupid but not too stupid. The would've been better if they had fought like submarine boys or something.
mind control hamsters
I want to buy this thing.
Looks fucking dope.
high school fleet
high school feet
Build for Teitoku.

Today I will remind them.
why do they still wear skirts out on sea? what about the wind
The other girls want to see panties.
It was a fun show until the mind-control hamsters part.
The real question is why they don't have a more appropriate skirt for military use.
fucking.
mices.
they're wearing sailor clothes, I don't know more you could possibly ask for out on the high seas?
Wrestling for fun
The navigator was super cute. Dropped it before the hamsters.
The hamsters were incredibly stupid. It had nothing to do with suspension of disbelief, but rather their awful narrative impact.
Haifuri is a perfect example of wasted potential. It starts off with a suspenseful scenario, then dismantles all stakes and agency. The Hunt for Red October beginning had so much potential: youtube.com
What would you have liked to have seen instead? I feel like if they went full terrorist the show wouldn't have been as chill as it was.
I think this was supposed to be Girls and Panzers but with boats but they fucked up
Nah, it feels very different from GuP. GuP is a HOBBYSHIT / SPORTS / LOCAL TOURISM SHILLING anime. Haifuri is none of those.
Haifuri is a war story. Whereas GuP could go on forever with new competitions or entrants and the stakes are no different than school club shows, Haifuri covered a finite war scenario that was solved at the end of the show. The movie featured a new war story about pirates or whatever it was and was similarly wrapped up with finality.
Strike Witches
Haifuri is a lot more like Strike Witches' (superior) relative, Sky Girls. Sky Girls also is focused on a war story that wraps up with finality and has a far better more Evangelion-like version of the hamster plot.
I never believed for a single moment that anyone disliked this show because of the hamster plot. Most people who watched this were fans of CGDCT / SoL shit or GuP. Those genres are full of incredibly stupid shit and arbitrariness that no one even bothers calling out because it's so normal for the genre. And girls doing war stuff for fun - like in GuP - is far more laughable than out of necessity or as a profession like in Haifuri.
Anyone who says this is hiding the real reason they dislike it imo.
I don't remember much at all about it and I never got around to watching the movie but I liked it. that entire season was full of shows
I can accept this assessment.
I liked the movie barring that goofy ass action movie sideplot right in the middle that has no bearing on the rest of it.
Mei a cute
Wilhelmina Braunschweig Ingenohl Friedeburg
This was the most important plot point in the show.
Just have them battle a real enemy instead of stupid hamsters. Bring in fucking Evangelion angels or some shit.
I mean they have to battle with the ships. Not girls running around in a ship chasing hamsters. The show was dumb to begin with and it could've been really fun if captain Mike commanded the ship to kill Godzilla.
Watch Sky Girls.
I think this was supposed to be Girls and Panzers but with boats but they fucked up
GuP was the classic underdog sports team saves their school series, Haifuri was just a wierd setting to justify no flying machines and the antagonists were literally hamsters.
It's actually on my list.
GuP is so over the top ridiculous I can't even. But it's really fun and enjoyable and this anime could've been like that.
I remember the Hunt for Red Harekaze.

I love that film. But I'm over 30. It's like dad cinema.
