What was the plan of ending the anime production with the movie and that one spinoff i will never understand.

The 1st season's art style was perfect, season 2 was a downgrade even though some people like to claim there is barely a difference.

It's not that simple. Some S1 episodes were perfect, others had artstyle issues and were worse than S2 episodes in that. Other than just character designs, S1 and S2 have different strengths visually. One thing that doesn't get mentioned as much is how S2 has better voice acting in general. If you're looking into sound design, I feel like S1 is more iconic, while S2 has some really interesting and original choices that S1 didn't try.

Tldr: S2 has a lot of pros as well and I feel people call it a downgrade mostly because S1 is the one with the most actual episodes and the biggest part of the plot. If S2 had 14 new episodes, the discussion would be different

Kadokawa only greenlights new seasons if they have a *new* novel to advertise
Tanigawa release Surprise in 2011 but nothing after that, so even though they had enough material for another 28 episodes+movie they didn't make a sequel sadly.
