Maboroshi or its Japanese title, Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou. It starts off as a purgatory anime, kinda like Angel Beats. But halfway through, they drops that plot for some “send the kid back to her real world” nonsense. Took me three sittings to finish it.
