The cutest
Well said!
Reminder her birthday is tomorrow.
wrong
reminder that people who say endlessly spout shit along the lines of "TYBW is the worst arc" are just announcing that they've never actually read the manga.
OP probably should had waited THAT before making a Bleach thread off-season.
Off-season or on season, Bleach threads are a mainstain on Anon Babble
I don't care if anyone else cares about Bleach. I care about Bleach. That's enough for me.
This was Blut, btw
I rate them about the same. The original is like realizing the person you’ve just is going to be your best friend, the new one is when that best friend shows up after traveling the world for ten years and gives you a a million dollars.
Why would that be Blut? Aizen can’t use Quincy abilities. It’s just the Hogyoku repairing his body.
No, it was the Hogyokou
There are like 5 pairings involving Orihime that are better than IchiHime kek
All I want is a doujin in kubo’s style where askin strips yoruichi and death deals inside her vagina.
name them
Why does that 1 line above the lip make girls like 10x sluttier?
Is CFYOW canon or no?
Can anyone explain what's the afterlife in Bleach? I don't really understand.
If you die in the real world, you go to the Bleach world, if you die in the Bleach world, you go to Hell, if you die in Hell, you go to the real world?
So, Bleach is purgatory?
Gotta agree. Old anime really elevated the first two arcs in a way TYBW arc failed to. No manga arc is particularly good but first 63 eps of thd OG anime are great.
I don’t think you quoted the right post.
right
? That guy said people overestimate previous arcs because the anime was good.
No, he said that people who kept repeating x opinions about Bleach have never read the manga, he never mentioned the anime in his post.
I understand the confusion but no that wasn't quite what I meant, while the anime is overall good and at times really great, as an entire package I believe the manga is strictly superior. The anime elevates a lot of the fights but at times butchers Kubo's storytelling, which is in my opinion the greatest strength of the series.
Sorry guys wrong picture.
Nice analogy, but the new one missed the point of what made the OG so good
If you die in hell, your existence ceases full stop stop
No reincarnation in Bleach? I thought it's supposed to be a cycle.
if you die in the real world, you either go to soul society, or you die wrong and become a hollow who remains in the real world but can freely traverse the real world and hueco mundo which is the designated hollow realm.
if you go to soul society and you die there, you reincarnate in the real world again where you die and go to soul society rinse and repeat. that's the cycle.
hollows break the cycle but they can be purified and sent into soul society by shinigamis.
hell is entirely separate from this cosmology because it's a primordial dimension that trascends the universe's timeline but it's basically where you go if you're super evil and better off just being erased, or if youre just too fucking strong for the universe to sustain your constant reincarnation (like captains). you dont go there by natural means, you need to be sent through ritual or selection.
Kubo never really explained what happens if you die in hell as far as I know
Friendly reminder, Uyru could have solo’d Ichigo.
Neither

I miss when Chad used to show up in the group shots.
So was the high school thing really just a classic Kubo joke? Like the hell arc tease was too?
Kubo really dropped the ball on Sado
He really did. The guy had such a strong connection to Ichigo and the cast initially and with how his powers were growing and adapting only to then just do nothing with him in the end. At that point I have to wonder if it was actually just that Kubo didn't know what to do with him or that his editor was telling him to phase him out in favor of the characters that ranked higher in popularity polls.
It plays in some of the most memorable bits of the Soul Society arc, shit is maximum nostalgia for me
Bleach is 100% a story written by the popularity polls. When Kubo tried to change it up with the Fullering art, the readers rejected it so hard Kubo had to abort the arc by having the characters who placed highest in the last popularity poll come and kill the new characters.
Likely a mixture of all everything. Orihime's powers as originally described in the Numb Chandelier fight legit made her the most powerful member of the cast by far, she could pretty much do anything she fucking wanted as long as she was mad/resolute enough, by mid hueco mundo she was down to just being a healer
That's funny too since wasn't it also Hueco Mundo where they made a big deal about her powers being the powers of a god literally being able to reject reality and substitute her own? It was like at some point Kubo and the rest realized no one really cared about what her powers did and what she was supposed to bring to the series.
Bleach is 100% a story written by the popularity polls.
Yeah, it really becomes more and move obvious how much sway those had as you read the series. It was sad seeing the initially fun little high school crew being thrown out after so much build up they got. I can't imagine the way the internal meetings regarding the story must have gone and how much Kubo was probably told to do for whatever poll came in.
More or less, the original idea was that Sōten Kisshun didn't "just" heal so much as it was supposed to literally reject the current state of something and revert it to a previous state, she could undo permanent and/or fatal damage to people and things, which is why Aizen wanted her. Still didn't get done as dirty as Tsubaki/Koten Zanshun did though, I suppose
Tsubaki/Koten Zanshun
Man, Kubo really had ideas for Orihime but never followed up on them. I nearly forgot she had a whole little crew of dudes in her power list and they each represented different powers and that she could do more than just undo and block. I can only imagine they must have really not tested well with audiences and that's why they got phased out. Or there may have just not had been enough time for them what with the series being a twenty page chapter manga and Orihime only being a side character most of the time.
He was supposed to be able to cut just about anything if she wanted to badly enough. After the NC fight, she tried using him a few times only to fuck him up, then like 15 years of nothing until she mentioned using him to keep an eye on Kazui in the opening of the Hell arc chapters
Bleach is 100% a story written by the popularity polls.
Which is the only reason Byakuya was so strong in the last arc btw
Fair take. I won’t argue with that anon my
the Bambies reign supreme because Kubo and the fans love them
This was a hot line up of girls (and one boy). I'm surprised Kubo had it in him to can them as fast as he did. Would have thought he'd have them stick around for a bit more.
they are around a lot tho, and still in every promotional art
Were they? I guess they lasted a lot longer than any of the other Quincy now that I think about it. Don't really remember the arc too well I guess.
I'd still be willing to argue it started as early as mid-late SS arc, I refuse to believe Hitsugya and Hinamori were originally meant to survive Aizen
Was Momo even that popular though? I think Kubo himself just liked her
Canonically Jugo's final orders was for them to reproduce and preserve the Quincy race
Give it a rest, it's 2025 and people are seriously still parroting this retarded idea that Kubo just forced the captains into the Fullbring arc for no reason to supposedly save the ratings?
It makes sense. If ratings are bad, you might be forced to make changes.
Kubo just forced the captains into the Fullbring arc for no reason to supposedly save the ratings?
Uhhhh. Yeah kek and there’s nothing wrong with that. Give the fans what they want
Q: Who is your favorite manga/anime heroine?
Kubo: Can’t think of any so I don’t think there is one in particular. I only distinguish manga/anime female characters by the size of their breasts, so I love all big booba women.
He says that yet he always sexualizes Soi-fon
How about I explain it to you, the captains arriving was literally planned from the arc's inception.
Fullbring is about Ichigo coping and telling himself that he's ok with losing his power, Ginjo sees this opportunity and hatches a plan to manipulate Ichigo and take his power for himself.
Ginjo succeeds with his plan and puts ichigo in the lowest place he's ever been, taking everything from him, even the people he wants to protect most.
Ginjo is a foil for Ichigo, Ginjo was a substitute soul reaper who was betrayed and vowed vengeance against the Soul Society while Ichigo is a substitute soul reaper who fought to and successfully changed the Soul Society after hundreds of years of stagnation.
No one saved Ginjo when he was at his lowest so he became resentful towards the soul society, when Ichigo was at his lowest, he was saved by the connections and bonds he made. Ichigo sacrificed his power to save his friends and the soul society and he was rewarded by getting his powers back with everyone's help.
The captains stepping in was planned from the start because they represent the results of Ichigo's effort, he changed the soul society and they went out of their way to help him which is something they never would have done before.
Kubo always repeats that but it's a clear lie. In his own mangas it's clear he loves Ninny, Rukia and Riruka. And if in his own mangas he bothers to make characters with good stories and many aspects in them than just her physiques, it's obvious he likes female characters for more than their physical aspect.
Spot on. Kubo even gave in to Byakuya fans and revived him after he was super dead final speech and all. Kubo likes to cry and whine and bitch when people criticise him but really and truly he's a fish-faced man with no spine. His concepts are good, his story is absolute garbage. He needs to be demoted to artist and have a writer, horse should know his place, he's no king.
You're right, I can’t believe this still gets over the head of people. If anything the final fights were rushed, but the Shinigami were going to come yes pr yes, it was even foreshadowed in the part where Isshin and Urahara talk about restoring Ichigo's power (indirectly) and then Rukia appears, not to mention Ichigo could hear the voice of Rukia from the substitute badge as well.
if you believed that you would have dropped bleach decades ago
The shinigami arrived just for the Bleach 10th anniversary, first Rukia for the same date the Bleach first chapter was published in the Shonen Jump. Kubo had already planned to make it too coincide, so didn't have anything to do with popularity.
Friendly reminder: Uyru fears Orihime.
The captains stepping in was planned from the start because they represent the results of Ichigo's effort
Now explain why it was byakuya, zaraki, and toshiro. Don’t think too hard
As I said, I appreciate his concepts and art. That's what keeps me coming back. It won't change he's an objectively bad writer with an awful attitude that shows in his work. It's definitely getting harder to ignore, that's why I pay no attention to his new works i.e. burn this shit.
Those are the captains Ichigo was the closest to.
Because they are the most popular. That was the point. Kubo made a good decision and gave the fans what they wanted
Q764: In the sexy illustration cover of Rangiku, Rukia, Orihime, and Nel you did for Chapter 535 The Ash, on the right, the leg of another character can be seen. Who else did you envision when drawing it?
Kubo: What I had in mind was that “lots of other similarly dressed characters are present” so I didn’t picture anyone specific. But if I were to guess judging by the height of their waist, it’s either Unohana or Isane.
Yeah, never said it was a bad one, it just happens the most popular captains are also the ones closest to him.
Byakuya and Zaraki were the shinigami captains with the most focus during the SS arc too. You know Hitsugaya is the only one that is there for popularity.
it just happens the most popular captains are also the ones closest to him.
You don’t really believe that’s a coincidence do you lmao
Never said I believe it's a coincidence.
If it's all about popularity, why the fuck did Ikkaku show up and not someone like Shuhei?
The captains sent were the ones who have worked with Ichigo before, thats literally the one and only reason, it had to be them. Are you going to try and tell me that it wouldn't be awkward as fuck and feel completely out of place if someone like Soi Fon or Unohana showed up?
It's chapter 353, not 535
it’s either Unohana or Isane.
Kubo literally owes us a lewd Unohana drawing
ever heard of reincarnation in buddhism?
why the fuck did Ikkaku show up and not someone like Shuhei?
Ikkaku is Kenpachi’s right hand man
but I thought Kubo didn't care about any logic and is nothing but a slave to the popularity polls?
He also has a bankai that everyone pretends to not know he has so he was strong enough for the mission.
Ikkaku also bonded with Ichigo in the SS arc and became friendly with each other afterwards, so him coming makes sense.
We can all at least that Toshiro was shoehorned in because of popularity at least
Based Titty Kubo.
Unohana is my mommy
I hate Giselle Gewelle.
Gokubro...
So when a human dies they leave behind a spirit. Good spirits are called "Pluses". They're connected to their deceased body by a "Chain of Fate". If the chain is severed, then that person is dead for good, but this also lets the Plus move freely. The severed chain will then degrade over time, a process called "Encroachment". If Encroachment finishes, then the Plus's heart will rip itself out of its body and take form as a mask, and the Plus will be reborn as a violent Hollow that preys on the living.
Shinigami are spirits from the afterlife, Soul Society, sent to Earth to usher Pluses to Soul Society, and to hunt and purify Hollows before sending them to Soul Society too. However, if a person has committed evil deeds while alive then they're condemned to Hell instead by a Shinigami after death.
There are many different branches of Soul Society, one for every major area on Earth. In Soul Society arriving spirits find a place to stay and await their time to be purified and reincarnated back to Earth once more. They can also choose to join the ranks of the Shinigami instead. Spirits in Soul Society take on the same appearance and abilities they had as humans, including the ability to reproduce. So there are spirits born in Soul Society that were never human to begin with, descended from people who died and came there.
There's also a hidden third spirit world called Hueco Mundo. This place is purely the domain of Hollows and is not tread by Pluses, Shinigami, or humans. Hollows can prey on each other to gain power, and a Hollow that has consumed hundreds of other Hollows is reborn as a Menos Grande, a "Minus" Hollow. Menos come in three different tiers of increasing power: Gillians, Adjuchas, and Vasto Lordes. It's said that only destiny can permit an Adjuchas to become a Vasto Lorde.
All Hollows, Menos included, can have their heart-masks forcefully removed. This returns them to a more human form and they become a spirit called an Arrancar. Most Arrancars were created by Souske Aizen in his study of Hollows, and so are loyal to him. Aizen also forcefully implanted Hollows in Shinigami as part of his experiments, and found these people could, if they tamed the Hollows inside them, could call on their power as Shinigami-Hollow hybrids. Aizen also found that if Hollows attacked pregnant women, a bit of their power would remain behind and would be inherited by the unborn child. These kids are known as "Fullbringers".
There's also another tribe of spirits that existed alongside the Shinigami: The Quincy. Quincys are deathly allergic to Hollows, but were able to create objects using their spiritual powers. So they decided to hunt and destroy Hollows completely. This put them at odds with Soul Society, as destroying souls disrupted the cycle of reincarnation and changed the balance between Soul Society, Earth, and Hueco Mundo, threatening to collapse all three into one. So Soul Society went to war with the Quincys, defeated them, and exiled the survivors to the dark corners of the world. The Quincys bided their time and regained their power, until they could wage a war of revenge against Soul Society.
Soul Society itself is governed by a council of spirits that represents the entirety of the populace. Additionally, there's a particularly powerful spirit that acts as a keystone, keeping all worlds in balance: the Soul King. He's not God, but he's a close analogue. Legendarily powerful Shinigami are selected as royal guards to protect the Soul King.
Ichigo Kurosaki is a patchwork of powers from all this. His dad is a Shinigami and his mom is a Quincy. Additionally, his mom was attacked by a Hollow before he was born, making him a Fullbringer. He was raised as a human and had to awaken Shinigami powers on his own, AND he inherited the Hollow that attacked his mom too.
So he can use every tribe's powers. He just had to work to awaken them all, and eventually combine them into one instead of use them separately, haphazardly.
Did you actually write all this it did you use chatgpt
Wrote it myself.
Based effort poster
Do we love Isane here?
Isane…
Yes
White volume cover.
What did White mean by this?
None of them would be a stacy. Orihime's the absolute closest, but as we've seen, she's too airheaded to be the top bitch
The only Stacies of Bleach are girls like Yoruichi or Rangiku.
Yachiru could've been one if she had the ability to grow up
Ruki/a/ reigns
She really does.
How the fuck did Renji do so well against Uryu?
He's a fucking vice captain
Same reason Goku is so strong despite being a low class Saiyan warrior.
Anon Babbleizen reigns
He really does.
Poor guy barely even gets a blip in fandom. Here's a fun exercise for you. Go to fanfiction.net and check how many Bleach stories feature Chad in any of the 4 character slots. Or go on Pixiv and see how many works of fanart he has under his Japanese name 茶渡泰虎. I don't blame Kubo for not focusing too much on him, because fundamentally he just wasn't that much of a compelling character.
Yeah, Chad has never been popular. His big guy archetype isn't well-liked in Japan (where they prefer pretty boys) and in the West he also went unnoticed except a source of memes because he loses a lot. You can tell this since Chad also barely does stuff in fillers compared to the supporting cast. It hasn't been until recently that I have seen Western fans caring for Chad and complaining that he didn't do more in the story.
The fact that Kubo tried (supposedly) to make Fullbringer arc about Chad, the same way SS was about Rukia, Arrancar about Orihime, and TYBW about Uryuu, really makes him looks so much worse in hindsight. Did he have any poignant or memorable interactions in that arc? You know the answer just as much as I do.
He was already captain class in the SS arc
He gave the clue to Ichigo of how to activate his Fullbring and the anime gave him more scenes at least.
He helped him to get the fullbring power.
He appears in various of those color spreads, because he is a main characater. The problem is what he does in the own manga that is not on a main character level.
Trust the plan
Ew no. Bleach has enough hags.
I like to imagine he spends most of the time in the chair watching anime.
Soifon is prime love interest material in a generic battle harem anime
Ichigo...
I mean, he turns them down all the time when they try to tease him. And he wifed his peer Orihime over the spiritual hag that is Rukia.
Other than Giselle and Liltotto, not really. Bambi is one of the first Quincy to fall in the second invasion, and both Candice and Meninas are defeated off-screen and never seen again.
Yeah man, that's why characters like Gin or Ulquiorra were asspulled back to life after fans demanded-Oh wait, no they weren't. Not to the forget Fullbringers were featured in the final arc and Tsukishima was instrumental to Yhwach's defeat. Kubo could've easily left the dead ones dead and write out the ones alive, but he didn't.
Renji is strong but he was no match for our successor
The new one, not even close
Zoomer take
I wanna buy the game but Im broke. Sucks.
I like this mangaka
Q: Which Bleach girl would be the best lay?
Kubo: It’s tough to say. When I creating Yoruichi, I imagined her as a freak. But later on when I conceptualized the Bambies, I realized that Bambi is probably the wildest girl in the sack. I would say Bambi.
so she's the strongest in bed.
what's the implication of this poster then? what kind of JK war is this about?
wtf is this real
I wouldn't agree with that anon, since she doesn't meaningfully interact with other characters as much as she does with Ichigo to get enough pairings that aren't pure crack. But Ulquihime and even Ishihime were popular for a reason. Also, some yurifags who were delusional enough to think she's bi, shipped her Rukia, but that was never really taken seriously, yet she has a better chemistry even with her than Ichigo.
But Ulquihime
My God, this like the seventh time I see someone bring up that retarded crack ship in a Bleach thread this month alone. Orihime showed COMPASSION to that fag, just like she did with almost every single enemy she faced. At most, you can argue there were some inklings of companionship that was beginning to form between them. You know, like she showcased rapidly with people ranging from Maki-Maki, Rangiku or Riruka. But Ulquiorra was a polar opposite who denied every small gesture of goodwill from her, and refused to believe that bonds mattered, trying to break her along with Ichigo to convince himself he was right.
Ishihime
She never treated him romantically once. No different from the way she behaved around Sado. Hell, I'd argue he barely registered as "opposite sex" to her. Remember how she was fine undressing in front of him in Soul Society? Absolutely emasculating.
yet she has a better chemistry even with her than Ichigo.
Alright then.
Is that enough for you?
Ulquiorra was a polar opposite
hence why it's popular.
It still sucks and the dynamic is uninteresting. People like ships not because they're canon, but because they're interesting or otherwise appealing.
The new rendition sounds like the drums try to compete with the singer and block her out. I don't like it at all.
Editors were always heavily involved, innit?
Yeah man, about as valid as Ichigo the clueless hero who wants to protect his friends vs Aizen the genius villain who wants to reshape the world. The only reason it's even taken seriously above shit like I mentioned is because Kubo had them be the opposite sex from each other.
Why is it interesting to ship Orihime with an Arrancar who tortured her or with a nerd she was never sentimental with? I'd say you're either demented or clueless for each.
Ginjo will become the Soul King at the end, uh?
Ulquiorra left his heart with Orihime, and it's explicitly clear to her too. A bittersweet ending like that is just the perfect shipper material since Ulquiorra started out as the coldest guy in the series. The gaslighting about "Orihime is one of us now" never went anywhere despite going on for years, and it's ironic that at the end Orihime wasn't afraid of Ulquiorra, but she was afraid of Ichigo. What Kubo intended, we'll never know.
Their dynamic in the manga is a very emotional one already, and it would be very easy to turn it into something romantic. "Girl fixes nihilist guy" is a good premise for a romance.
tortured her
See >with a nerd she was never sentimental with
I don't really care too much about IshiHime, and I don't think there were that many scenes between them in the manga that could lead to a romantic development. I do think it's cute though.
New version sucks. And that’s coming from a fucking massive Shiro Saigisu fan
Ulquiorra left his heart with Orihime, and it's explicitly clear to her too
And did she do anything with that?
A bittersweet ending like that is just the perfect shipper material since Ulquiorra started out as the coldest guy in the series.
You can find that in other places without the abuse. And maybe where the girl doesn't explicitly love another guy.
The gaslighting about "Orihime is one of us now" never went anywhere despite going on for years
Because Ulquiorra was trying to break her.
and it's ironic that at the end Orihime wasn't afraid of Ulquiorra,
Because her friends were with her all along.
but she was afraid of Ichigo.
Until she wasn't. That page where Ichigo says he is still himself is the payoff for all those times where she seemed to be afraid of him, but still cheered and believed in him.
What Kubo intended, we'll never know.
But we do. He wanted them to get together from the very beginning. It's clear day. When a shounen heroine drops a bomb like her five lives speech, you know it's over.
It's emotional because it constantly exposes Orihime to danger, making the viewer pity her situation but also admire her strength. Not because she secretly loved the guy who killed her crush in front of her.
tortured her
I'd say what Ulquiorra did to her crosses the moral event horizon beyond some silly spats with Zaraki or Mayuri's antics.
It's emotional because it constantly exposes Orihime to danger, making the viewer pity her situation but also admire her strength.
No, her compassion and empathy for Ulquiorra, and Ulquiorra's curiosity which ultimately lead to a change of heart are what made the dynamic so emotional.
Not because she secretly loved the guy who killed her crush in front of her.
Not what I said or implied.
>tortured her
I'd say what Ulquiorra did to her crosses the moral event horizon beyond some silly spats with Zaraki or Mayuri's antics.
I'm starting to think you're not interested in an honest conversation.
No, her compassion
Compassion like slapping him? She was unusually angry with him, and for very good reasons.
and empathy
You clearly don't know what that word means. Ulquiorra is the one who shows empathy for her and Ichigo's struggle; it's one-sided, and not from Orihime's side. What she shows is sympathy. Empathy would imply she understood his nothingness; she doesn't.
and Ulquiorra's curiosity which ultimately lead to a change of heart are what made the dynamic so emotional.
At the very end. And it's still not absolutely clear he gets it. There's a question mark there for a reason. He explicitly frames it that way.
Not what I said or implied.
I don't see any other way if you'd ship them. That's what you need to assume to make it make sense while he was alive. Unless you'd assume he gets brought back, which misses the point of his entire character.
I'm starting to think you're not interested in an honest conversation.
I am, but when you say shit like that of course I'm gonna mock you. Ulquiorra torturing her is treated very seriously. Orihime gets entire panels dedicated just to her despair and overwhelming grief.
And did she do anything with that?
idk, did Kubo do anything with any of the plot referrals to Orihime? Didn't become one of them, didn't have godly powers, wasn't necessary to wake up the hogyoku, didn't destroy the hogyoku. And since we know that the forest of menos was cut from the manga due to pacing issues, it's possible that they cut out this part too. Which is a shame.
Because Ulquiorra was trying to break her.
Grimmjow said it too, and he didn't talk to Ulquiorra about it. It's implied to be something commonly known between the Espada and Aizen. IchiHime was set in stone by that point of course, but technically it's possible that she could die like in the pilot. Now that I think about it, it could've been the same character subplot that Ishida got - be taken into the enemy ranks and then deliver a decisive blow from within.
Orihime becomes a semi-brainwashed attendant of Aizen
Beats Kyoka Suigetsu with her godly rejection when Ichigo is about to be killed by Aizen
Destroys Hogyoku with her powers and is promptly killed by Aizen, who is now on a level field with a very mad Ichigo
that would've been kino. instead she only served to lock 3 captains in HM and caught flak for getting us stuck in ghost mexico for years
Ishida suspected it too, now that I recall, and he sure didn't talk to either Grimmjow or Ulquiorra about it.
i havent been on Anon Babble in a while. is the bump limit still 500 or did hiro cut it to 300
Still 500
Katagiri my beloved
I remember a fanfiction where it tried to fix those ideas like this:
Aizen thought she could enhance the Hogyoku with her powers
tries to brainwash her into obedience since he knows her Shun Shun Rikka is based on how hard she feels in that moment
plan is scrapped once her friends arrive way too quickly.
with her emotions in turmoil, she can't use her powers properly.
so as plan B he lets that sentiment linger for everyone involved so her bait is more powerful, hopefully luring as many enemies as possible in Hueco Mundo while he leaves
Orihime talking about rejecting the Hogyoku is explicitly about that, since she understood what he was getting her to do, and she thinks she can do the opposite (weaken to destroy the gem outright) if she feels strongly enough
Based. Still got plenty of bleach time itt
I'm curious, how do you interpret this page from his backstory?
Her calling him Ulquiorra-kun? That's nothing. She tries to humanize him. Since she's shocked he can even sleep, it's clear she's weirded out by how peculiar he is. But she puts on a smile anyway, probably thinking he can't be all that bad, because that's just how Orihime is, seeing the best in everyone. And then he tells her off the next page for using that honorific. Refusing that hint of humanity she tried to give him. And she's sad about it, probably thinking she was right about his peculiarity.
Voila. My equally valid interpretation to the fangirls who said she liked him or something for that honorific.
The saga between Orihime and Ulquiorra is unironically some of Kubos best writing. The whole time Ulquiorra was feeling something that he never felt before. And he didn’t truly understand it until the end
youtu.be
Also the ost they played was absolutely gorgeous
Friendly reminder.
Bambietta confirmed tightest and strongest in the sack
still loses pathetically against Gigi's cock
what did Kubo mean by this?
That's nothing.
Come on man, you can't be serious.
Since she's shocked
She's relieved. You know what that means? She was concerned for him.
she's weirded out
She never shows a hint of that though. She treats him respectfully. And really with far too much casualness for an enemy who kidnapped him.
And then he tells her off the next page for using that honorific. Refusing that hint of humanity she tried to give him. And she's sad about it, probably thinking she was right about his peculiarity.
What about the fact that this page directly precedes it? Where he explicitly thinks about 幸福 (happiness). And then we have Orihime's face being the first thing he sees. Kubo really wasn't being subtle here.
last thought while dreaming is happiness
next page is Orihime
KUBOOOOOOOOOO
Q: Would it be possible for Soi-fon to violently peg me?
Kubo: If you cosplay as Yoruichi
Come on man, you can't be serious.
I am. She calls people like Shishigawara that way. It's a simple honorific that translates as something like Mister. It's easy to see why he'd be upset to get called Mister Ulquiorra.
She's relieved. You know what that means? She was concerned for him.
She's concerned about everyone man. Good lord, this is going nowhere.
What about the fact that this page directly precedes it? Where he explicitly thinks about 幸福 (happiness). And then we have Orihime's face being the first thing he sees. Kubo really wasn't being subtle here.
His wide eye is right there. There's a panel between "happiness" and her face. He was woken up suddenly. He reacts that way from pure instinct. It's all but clear Orihime never got remotely close to him before he suddenly opens his eyes, so that's why she reacts that way.
If Kubo wanted to make this remotely sentimental, he would've immediately shown Orihime's face much more closely to his POV and with a more intimate expression. But he doesn't. Because that's not the point of Ulquiorra or his relationship with Orihime He's not trying to ship the. He's trying to relate to the readers the sheer magnitude of Ulquiorra's nihilism.
I'm curious, are you a woman? If not, I feel sorry for you. Take off the Twilight goggles. Maybe read something else.
Shipping aside, Ulquiorra did develop emotions. That's the entire point of THE HEART. And it's very good material for shipping. Most of it probably started only after Ulquiorra was dead, just because of the ending.
She calls people like Shishigawara that way
The fuck you pulled this from.
It's a simple honorific that translates as something like Mister. It's easy to see why he'd be upset to get called Mister Ulquiorra.
君 is not -san (さん). That's the actual word for mister. She's literally calling him like he is her friend.
She's concerned about everyone man
This is the guy who blackmailed her by threatening her friends, kidnapped her and is also her warden. Yet she shows zero apprehension. Also, what about the fact that Ulquiorra is comfortable enough to fall asleep in her room?

Man, if you can't tell why Kubo wanted to have Orihime's face being the first thing he SEES when sight is such a major thing about his character, and right after he was thinking about happiness, I can't help you. You're clearly trolling.
Also, I'd just like to highlight the significance that they don't touch each other ONCE (in a non-hostile way, the slap is an exception) in the manga. Not even when he has his fingers towards her chest, forehead and eyes when asking about the heart, he doesn't touch her. The only time they both want to do that is right when he dies. Kubo absolutely knew what he was doing writing their interactions.
This just to anticipate those retarded arguments I've heard that he wanted to kill her or something, like when he intercepts her in his Segunda Etapa before Uryuu intervenes.8
It means Gigi is a stud and the Bambie's breeder
i just realized that even ulqihime is a better love story than ichihime because we get to see both of them develop at least some emotion between each other, whereas between ichigo and orihime it just existed there from before the series timeline even started
I just think they're neat, desu.
If he ever wanted to rethink Orihime's character and ship her with a revived Ulquiorra, it would've fit really nicely thematically, given all the "worlds apart" symbolism Bleach has. God knows fangirls were obsessed with that stuff for so many characters.
And from a purely unemotional perspective, Ulquiorra was just an awesome and menacing character. He had a strong presence in every single page Kubo featured him. Bringing him back and showing how he changed after the heart could've been a way to genuinely explore how Hollows can change and be good (other than ones who were like that all along, like Nelliel).
I love Ulquiorra, but he's really better dead. Reviving him would have lessened the impact of his death scene, that is one of the best in Bleach, and his character already concluded. Bringing him back for fanservice only to him to not do much like Nel did would have been pretty disappointing.
how many of the sternritter could ulquiorra kill
other than ones who were like that all along, like Nelliel
I never thought about that desu. Now that you brought it up, it really makes her seem like a Mary Sue standing on a moral pedestal while all the other Arrancar have their huge existential struggles with their emotions and meaning in life. Pretty boring, and actually undermining the impact of what it means to be a Hollow.
He has a good chance against many of them in terms of sheer destructive powers. Gremmy is his limit tho.
only by circumstance
Fair. He would have had to be written really carefully to fit. Especially if he somehow both brought him and kept the Ichihime pairing. Man, that would've stung the Ulquihime fans really hard.
Eh, I'd argue Kubo gave her a softer touch to endear her as one of the good guys. She's definitely not conflictless. Her Lamentation is a pretty strong emotion that defines her. It's why she's so worked up about Nnoitra and his despair at the inevitable destiny of all Hollows. But then she gets flanderized in TYBW, so whatever.
Ulquiorra would run the gauntlet up until he gets to Schutzstaffel tier characters. I think he beats Gremmy because unlike Kenpachi, Ulquiorra isn’t retarded. He’d figure out the flaws in Gremmys powers instead of just slamming his head against the wall until something works. Also he can regenerate infinitely
UlquiHime will forever be my favorite crack ship
Well since this thread is pretty irredeemable already I don't feel bothered to ask. What's your favorite straight crack ship in Bleach?
GrimmNel.
Same, man. Same.
Ulquiorra should been sent to soul society after his death and been with the shinigami who helped him against the Fullbringers
Way too mild. More like marijuana ship.
Easily this one. Poor Uryuu, never getting any love.
Grimmnel is canon
God knows with Kubo's inconsistent writing. From a feats perspective I'd argue any non-Schutzstaffel, but I remember power level discussions where people were genuinely claiming Mask would no diff him.
Also he can regenerate infinitely
He wished he could.
Everyone talks about using as an ED, but I think Asterisk would work best as an insert for the final fight.
Kombietta
Uryu x Cirucci and Ichigo x Riruka. Hitsugaya x Karin is nice too due to the possibilities of Isshin going crazy over his beloved Toshiro being with his daughter.
So how much did Rebirth of Souls sell?
Giselle and Bambietta.
Fuck you.
God knows with Kubo's inconsistent writing. From a feats perspective I'd argue any non-Schutzstaffel, but I remember power level discussions where people were genuinely claiming Mask would no diff him.
Mask is strong af, but Ulquiorra has enough firepower to destroy James before he can power up Mask to a point when he's stronger than him.
Aside from his internal organs yes his regeneration is top tier
Asterisk would be perfect as the credits song after pic related happens. Imo it's way too cheerful for an epic fight scene.
white girl
obsessed with dog
Sorry anon, she's a dog fucker.
Poor Uryuu, never getting any love.
I wonder if the anime will try to remedy that. But I genuinely don't know how. Like, I think pairing him with a nobody is worse than leaving him celibate. At least Sado seems like the type for the latter, you know, as the quiet gentle giant.
_____ will become the new soul king in the anime.
I did a quick search and I cant find anything unfortunately. I hope it sold well
ganju
God the asshurt this chapter's adaptation will generate is something I have to prepare popcorn for.
According to steam Bleach Rebirth Of Souls has sold 122K in the first 5 day
is this good?
I wonder if there are still people who actively engage in Bleach discussions who aren't already spoiled of this.
I don't know, ask Anon Babble.
I'm sure there's a bunch of casual newfags that came with the anime who will be surprised by this. But they'll more confused than devastated.
That sounds solid. It probably sold better on PS5 than PC
Zaraki x Unohana
Are they really crack though? They're a battle-sexual male & female with a shared history + all the stuff they think of each other in that final battle. They're like Grimmjow x Ichigo on steroids.
I wish we'd see more fanart of characters who wear uniform depicted in casual clothes. Kubo did that quite a bit himself, pic related, but I still can't get enough.
Agreed. It's a nice change of pace from monotony and Kubo's designs are always sleek as hell.
Unohana is more like Kenpachis mommy than his girlfriend
Why did he age faster than her? Kenachi should've been the shota captain for Anon Babble kino.
zarakis mommy
shes everyones mommy
Unohana epitomizes ara ara energy
Ichigo, whats the difference between a Jockey and a Chicken?
Every character who interacts with Orihime, falls in love with her. Literally the best girl. Ichigo is so lucky!
Every character who interacts with Orihime, falls in love with her.
...and NTRhime sucks their dicks as thank you.
If wdkaly gets animated next cour, I really want to see that Orihime/Yoruichi scene, not Orihime just talking about it, I want it animated.
Ok ok, schizo. Just take your meds, alright?
Explain Hisagi then
I really like Bleach, love some of the character designs, I like how Kubo doesn't have a problem giving different outfits to characters and I think he really knows how to create chemistry between the cast.
My biggest problem with Bleach is how most of it seems to be padding until Ichigo unlocks his latest power and how most of the fights with him are just not at his full power because he needs to beat the big bad else he would end his enemies in 1 second.
Also, it seems like most of the fights are
ha you're finished!
nu-uh I have this super power that beats you! now you're finished!
oh really? it was all according to keikaku, here's my super duper power up that is a perfect matchup for yours!
haha, but you see? you made a hole in my body, which was actually MY keikaku now I can unlock my super duper mega powerup that will beat you
And so on.
Thanks for offering a reasonable criticism instead of just saying "Bleach it's shit".
Hisagi has always been treated with respect. But there was no way for Kubo to bullshit his way into making him top tier
no
The best arc is the Fullbring arc because it was centered around Ichigo himself
soul society fans ruined it for not just letting kubo cook
granted it was stupid how Ichigo had to regain his power again when he literally just did that with byakuga or am I having a low IQ speedreader moment where I just missed how that happened and why is it different
why would someone just make up something on Anon Babble???
Becoming Pepe's fuckboy was respectful treatment?
The training he took after losing to Byakuya was to obtain his own power. Before he fought with the one Rukia gave him at the beginning of the story.
okay that makes sense
Probably should’ve done that in their second fight then instead of getting tossed around then.
current strongest in the verse alive, no order
Ichigo
Aizen
Uryu
Shunsui
Lille Barro
where kenpachi toshiro and hitsugaya. also lillie is dead
toshiro and hitsugaya
yes
lillie is dead
he isn't though buuut technically neither is Yhwach
im drunk and tired. i meant zaraki byakuya and toshiro
Stop with this misconception already, The captains arriving was meaningful and planned from the start.
Not being able to simp for mommy Unohana for ten days has been painful.
Good to be back.
Are we back
BBBAAAAAAAAAAANNKKKAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHH
I'm bringing sexy back
We fucking live!
