And the story might start looking straight-up nonsensical (especially if the "story" is an IRL 2 year long sequence of fights).

But thats not his end all be all, Kaido has a lot of hypocrisy to his character, a lot of his statements are contradicted by different characters. To Kaido a hierarchy where the strongest have the highest positions of power is a fair world because it benefits those who work towards gaining strength, but this system inherently benefits him, who was pretty much born the strongest, because this is all he understands. Even though he was also a hypocrite on this matter, because he inherently benefited Jack with the position of a Yonko commander purely out of favoritism. A recurring theme with the old Yonko is that they never overgrew their childhoods, Kaido, Big Mom and Whitebeard are still carrying on with idealisms that they were imbued with during their childhood, Kaido who has only ever partaken in violent environments, one in which he was unjustly put out of because the ruling party wanted to use him as leverage with the Celestials, which he could not comprehend as the Celestials are weak as shit.
No other system works for Kaido because he is indeed a fightfag, he lives by the idea that a man's legacy is built on war and conflict and the conclusion of the journey.
