I like how this episode started off with heavy oshinko genkitard focus as buuuchhoooouuu of the FCRC leads them all to the camp, then quietly shifted focus to a more personal story beat from Kurea about her occasional feelings of fifthwheeling, while all of this used Makocchi as a throughline to connect the two halves together. Genuinely excellent writing! This was the best episode yet

I think, out of all of them, sheep had the weakest connection to her, as she's a bit too chill and braindead(from energy drinks) to be active in the relationship atm. I do want to see more pairings, thoughbeit. Plus, I think sheep and oshinko both havent gotten enough solo focus to build on them yet

warmly invites mako into the club and is very open about herself and her sheep-afinity, allowing mako to be herself, too

bridges the gap between mako and nana, never talking down to nana about the way she behaves, always encourages her and explains her behavior to mako

I've made this post before and not gotten (You)s but I'm going to make it again because I want to and because I think it's a good idea and there is a non-zero chance that SOMEONE who works at PAworks is going to see it and take note
Basically, if I were in charge, I wouldn't let this be the only Hibi show. I would turn it into a group of shows all set in this outbuilding. Look at how much room there is! Easily enough space for three more clubs just on the bottom level. PA works is a solidly established studio with a large catalog. Some are very good, some are eeehhhhh not so much. HibiMeshi is particularly good because of the creatives behind it. I would seek out other creative teams from other established and well-regarded animes from various genres and basically give them carte blanche to make shows about a girl's club in this building. There would be minimal restrictions beyond

the show names must be similair - Hibi wa Sugiredo ____ - the days are passing _____

occasional cameos from the sistershows, nothing too obnoxious or intrusive, mostly just being in the background when theyre at the clubhouse

similar artstyle and consistent character design for the shows to feel theyre set in the same place. This would be relatively easy as the animators would be the same

nothing too tonally abnormal that takes it out of the vibe of the rest of the shows.

Who the creatives are that are recruited depends entirely on the shows they want to make.

I would do three, to start

A slightly pretentious Art and Art History club. Small group of Hibis get together to paint, study art history from around the world, have fun, etc. This would have a ton of animation creativity. It would still as a baseline follow the rest of them, but I would have portions of each episode animated in drastically different styles to reflect what they're studying and painting then. Each girl can have a different favorite style, European classical, impressionistic, Japanese woodblock artisty, etc. A cameo potential would be the HibiPainters painting a classical style, golden ratio following, canvas of the HibiMeshis sharing a meal.

A sports / outdoor activities club. There is a wide open field just infront of the clubhouse. Absolutely perfect for HibiSporty Brown Tomboys to frolick around and have a good time. I'm not too big into sports, but hell, I would take a start up baseball team anime as the team of hibis come together and train to compete in college-level sports. HibiMeshis could provide catering to them in exchange for friendship (and some payment as a sports team would surely have a much more vast school funding support I guess)

A Girl's Band anime following a band of, you guessed it, HibiMusicians. Most girls band anime focus heavily on the character relationship and drama, I would diffentiate this by making it put a spotlight on the technical side of things and really hone in on the process of making music as a band. There could obviously be room for character work, but most of it would be about the balance between a school life and chasing their dreams as a band. For ultimate fucking kino, they perform a live and SHEEP opens for them on the ukelele.

hell, I would even give Nana her OWN spinoff and have her start a proper puzzle club that she runs alonside being apart of the Meshis (I've never seen an anime girl be in TWO clubs before. Is that legal?)

All of this, and any others, would all culminate in a movie where the renovate their outbuilding club so they and future clubs at their school can enjoy the passing days in peak comfort. I think it would be extremely easy to find the perfect saturation of Hibishows without overblowing it. Especially if each one has a different set of creatives, different premise, and different genres behind them. All they need to do is maintain some level of consistency in the animation and "worldbuilding"
Imagine a timeline where each season has a new entry into the HibiClub cinematic universe. That is the world I want to live in, bros...
