It doesnt, Youjo Senki is literally a German Empire at the end of the World War I when it was de facto headed by a military junta and Kaiser was just a puppet. Down to literally using slightly modified version of the WWI leaders like Ludendorff becoming Rudersdorff.

The anime was fine for the most part, it's the movie and OVAs that are too over the top.

Part 2 is by far the best Jojo part, 1 was also pretty good, after that I struggled to get through 3 and dropped the series.

I think the best part is 4 then 2 and i can understand why you dropped the anime, part 3 adaptation is ass, there are no filler episodes but its still too fucking long for no reason

Feel like Kerberos/Jin-Roh is more about totalitarism and inter-service conflict. The brigade act like loyal dogs and do all kind of fucked up shit on orders. Then they become too greedy and brutal, and once no longer convenient, they get put down like rabid dogs, just like they did to their own target.

Yeah it was really long for one, and while I suppose there wasn't anything you'd traditionally call filler it ended up relying too much on the new enemy stand of the episode before moving on, part 2 and 1 both felt more like one continuous story to me, and 2 I just found everything about it more fun, not to say 3 is without good qualities or moments, but it didn't come together as well as the other 2.

Strictly speaking both of you are right, but, besides the aesthetics, Kerberos pack plenty of nazi gear (like the iconic MG-42s) and they, ultimately, are the result of Japan having been occupied by Nazi Germany in the recent past, so I'd say they are Nazi-adjacent enough.

People forget this, but the Nazis were a vehemently anti-monarchist faction especially early on. The Kaiser was one of the major figures they blamed for the loss of the first world war. For all that the Nazis larped as third German Empire they had absolutely no reverence for the old monarchy and were instrumental in stamping it out.

You're both confused. It doesn't feature nazis, because there is no Hitler or nazi movement in that world. And it's neither WW1 or WW2, but a weird blending of both with tech and tactics used from all over history to alter the original historical world wars outcomes (usually influenced by knowledge Tanya has of real world history, even if she doesn't realise her influence played a part).
