What I don't think they fully realize, and their editors seem to suck at pointing at it, is that they should have a stronger emotional buildup to lead to that bittersweet ending and making it at least cathartic or impactful. Like in Call of the Night or the Insomnia kids. It's a fucking nothing burger.
You see those endings in movies, and that's fine. Bad endings can be good and make you feel things. But you experience that over a 2 hour long movie, not after years of following a publication where things just dissolve.
