AI animation advancements

What are (You)r thoughts on this matter?

Previous thread had mixed opinions - some were embracing all the possible advantages this could bring about and recognized AI as nothing more than a tool, while others were refusing to accept the new reality and tried to attack the messenger out of their sheer impotency.
If you ask me, I think AI drawing/animation both have a great potential - and even if we won't reach the point where anyone would be able to craft their own ideal story, this technology will surely help human animators reduce their work, and, therefore, produce more high-quality content.

off topic garbage

advancements

I have yet to see any

I, for one, welcome the bright AI future and had a great discussion in the previous thread. Keep up the good work OP

this technology will surely help human animators reduce their work, and, therefore, produce more high-quality content.

No, it will just be used to mass-produce and make everything cheaper. Look at CGI.

Why are you replying to yourself?

i like the art style at least

horrible and not because of the glitches

This looks like absolute garbage.

this technology will surely help human animators reduce their work,

There's already a couple proof of concepts I've seen where the artist does their own style and drawings that the ai uses to help draw in between, which was always the main grunt work behind animation, lower that barrier and more people can participate and bring their own ideas to the table

Post human made animation to scare off the AIslurper.

In general (besides action scenes) I simply prefer still cameras where the attention is on framing and image composition. One of anime's strong suits are in fact camera angles. Unnecessary dynamism destroys anime magic and artistry IMO.

So what I wanted to say: It's not even about AI but a completely in my opinion wrong approach to what the AI is used for.

Anyone who is pushing for AI, ironically or unironically, will regret it in 20 years when you are older and everything feels stale and copy pasted. I am not even 30 yet and I already feel this from human artists, much less AI. You'd have to be either low IQ or too young to think that this is a good thing. And if you don't think it's a good thing then you should not pretend to support it.

You should have noticed during the ghibli slop spam that they are legitimately evil and hate anyone who puts work into art. They don't care about anything, they're the people who support trump just because he's radical and chaotic.

I think it’s very suspect that “AI” has been hyped up for years and had untold billions of dollars thrown into the meat grinder only to have no results shown for it besides coomer generation

Source?

I've spoken to them here and that's my conclusion. I don't think they have the capacity to comprehend all the effort and emotion that goes into art, for them a van gogh is equivalent to what you produce by training ai on it. That's the people who support ai. And also people fine with the largest scale theft in human history.

Using genAI results straightforwardly will look like a soulless slop for many years to come, if not decades, there are too many inherent restrictions in what a model can do with 2D art in a 3D space. However, I think it's feasible to invent methods that use genAI as a draft or a prototype tool. Especially once genAI becomes capable of decently generating and animating 3D models.

its a disingenuous way to present it, generation to the level of the mp4 in your post isnt really artist driven, as such its less a tool and more of a replacement, the idea that it will inherently be good for the medium assumes that quality is some sorta universal constant that will always show up as long as new stuff is being made, which it's not
rather than lower barriers of entry this is just raising the expected amount of productivity every single artist must have and will make work conditions worse for animators

racism?

Why would I spend my time on something creators themselves didn't? Nor did they even work.

Reposting KINO from the previous thread

why do you even care if it is enjoyable?

Bump.

Cool. I don't speak to people

Why does it need to be anime, just get drunk and high on drugs, that would be fun for you.

Nini bros?

Sadly I can see studios going all "we don't need douga just run framegen lol" very soon

AI can't understand anatomy, so it will never be able to properly draw hands

AI videos? lmao not within our lifetime

Using genAI results straightforwardly will look like a soulless slop for many years to come, if not decades (you are here)

AI still can't understand anatomy, all it learned is to get some basic poses look passable. AI videos are all still the very definition of slop, period. Sure, they "move", but it's just hallucinations.

Why are you so defensive about this?

ai advances are undeniable

Nice attempt at a necrobump op but your thread is on autosage, not even the mods like you anymore

AI still can't understand anatomy

It doesn't understand anything. It just has a gigantic base of patterns and artists from danbooru to steal styles from.

I'm willing to bet that AI will beat human made seasonal slop within a couple of years.

I'm not defensive, just annoyed by retards who look at rapidly advancing tech and go "this can't do X right now, so surely it will be shit forever"

Why do you come to an anime board, post machine generated images that work by stealing millions of anime artists' work, and then get mad when people have opinions on technology you disagree with?

sar got mad because they were pointed out.

because their opinions are retarded.

Your opinion that other people like looking at slop and like the theft that you commit is retarded

you're wrong tho. people like looking at slop, otherwise we wouldn't have a flood of low budget isekai slideshows each season.

not op but, why discussion of this topic is forbidden?

This is the anime and manga board not the AI board

well, I'm leaving
