EOP thinks he's superior to other EOPs

Enjoy your trannylations

You are also just a pleb if you don't watch raw or with Japanese subs only.

I hate how japanese sounds

Are dubfags actually retarded? How are they unable to read text on screens? Are they that lazy? Are they brain dead?

Yes to all of the above. They watch the moving picture screen to be hypnotized and allow time to pass them by more rapidly and bring them closer to death, not to actually enjoy a good story.

I hate them so much. I wish I could round them all up and shoot them in the back of the head. I’m not even being ironic. I’m dead serious.

Once you become a JOP and realize how much subtitles fuck with movement and shot composition, oftentimes even hiding vital details, you realize dubfags are really the lesser of two evils.

visual medium therefor dubs are conceptually vastly superior. practically they are hell on earth and should never be attempted. the only possible solution is to go native.

Subs are less evil than dubs especially when accurately translated with translator notes

This is the kind of stupid shit dubfags post when roleplaying.

I am actually not a neet and if I wanna watch anime I only can while I do my work and or studying. So I do need dubs. Also fuck you anyway because I'm bilingual and spanish dubs are wayyy ahead of english ones.

Ignore him, he’s a tourist

I'd say there is about 70% chance that this post was made by someone who wants every little word that person can make out in the sea of Japanese noise reflected in the subtitles somehow, and if not gets confused. Like when some name is used in the original lines and it's correctly translated simply to “you” because that's just the most common second person pronoun in Japanese, someone's name and/or title.

Am I right?
Extremely based opinion.,

It's actually worse than you think, dubfags are so brain-rotted that they watch dubs only because they can do something else like looking through social media while having the show in the background. They basically don't even watch the anime, they just like having it in the background while doing something else since they're so addicted to constant dopamine to focus on just one thing at a time.
They're also the same type of people who will call your favorite anime "boring" for not having enough flashy action scenes.

Innit detected

The chances of Japanese-only viewers in a throwaway dubfag bad thread is low even on Anon Babble which only has the illusion of secret club compared to say 10 years ago. It doesn't matter if they're EOP, hearing the original Japanese script is enough to surmise the meaning. Some people are unironically there with triple digit anime watched and 0 pattern recognition or context clue detection. I don't see how subtitles hurts Japanese only viewers when it's one button press away from turning them off and making it raw. This is a go to argument by dubfags to justify their more evil of the two positions through their power rangerfication of anime.

they are objectively less evil because you still hear the script. even eop can understand the premise and tone if they aren't subhuman icl.

They’re all niggers that only watch slop like One Piece and Dragon Ball for fights and “aura” while calling you a pedophile for liking cute girls doing cute things, or fanservice

How do you think the catalog works?

We're just saying that you can't talk about being hardcore when you rely on subtitles in another language than Japanese.
The reason people turn them off is because it's just obnoxious how inaccurate they are in practice and no I don't mean “Muh muh, I clearly heard “loli” in the lines but they changed it to “little girl” I mean the translators typically just don't understand how aspects work in Japanese and mistranslate sentences that are clearly meant to be perfect to progressive and similar things.

and im saying you shouldn't throw away the baby with the bathwater. subs are shit but this is an audiovisual medium so you should be fine with hearing japanese if you actually watch anime. i think saying it's okay to completely mitigate the presence of the japanese script is petty.

Well I think it's just fake elitism to be honest.
And like I said, these people aren't actually capable of focusing on two things at once either. They tend to get really confused when they can make out a word in the sea of noise they don't understand and it's not reflected in the subtitles because they didn't grow up with subtitles so that part confuses them.

if I wanna watch anime I only can while I do my work and or studying

Nothing against dubs but anime are a visual medium. It doesn't make sense to "watch" a visual medium while you don't look at the screen. You could listen to audio books instead. If you have no time for watching anime while doing something else during the episode then why do you have time for Anon Babble or why do you even "watch" anime? Do you need anime as slop to do be a bit distracted while doing work you dislike?
Or do you "watch" it to discuss things on Anon Babble?

something else like looking through social media while having the show in the background. They basically don't even watch the anime, they just like having it in the background while doing something else since they're so addicted to constant dopamine to focus on just one thing at a time.

I wonder how many japanese anime watchers do this. They can understand the language. What I noticed is that a lot of people are on their phones, laptops or tablets while they watch some thing on TV or netflix like a movie or a show.

If you watch with subs, you're experience of the writing is still completely filtered through the English language. Therefore, you're experience is closer to that of a dub watcher than to someone who can watch raws. When I couldn't watch raws yet, I also watched with subtitles because I felt English just ruined the atmosphere/immersion.

It doesn't matter if they're EOP, hearing the original Japanese script is enough to surmise the meaning

I think you're overestimating the Japanese skills of the average subs watcher. I think that if they could simply turn the subtitles off if they wanted to, and still understand (nearly) everything, they would, and there would be no need for them to use subs in the first place.

What I'm trying to say is, just learn Japanese if you're into anime and weeb shit in general, and likely will be in the long term. Subs vs dubs is a debate for casuals.

One of the big perks of having learned some measure of Japanese is being able to watch things without constantly having to watch it, and yes, that's how people normally watch television. The only reason anime people are different is indeed because they need to watch subtitles.
Familes have television on during dinner, people watch films together and sometimes look at each other during it or say something during some points. That's how people normally watch television when they can understand the lines without needing subtitles. People even go to the kitchen to get a snack and still hear what the characters are saying from there.

I'm not saying anything crazy. If you reach triple digits of anime watched and can't understand anything through muscle memory & pattern recognition you are a lobotomy patient or something. And no, understanding most anime doesn't require learning Japanese to the extent of learning how to read, write or speak. Also I agree. Both are shit but dub scripts lock you into shit while sub scripts can be changed, removed, and turned "raw" simply.

Lol, it's pretty clear most people on Anon Babble have absolutely no knowledge of Japanese whatsoever from many of the threads here. You only need to have studied for like a month if not less to already realize that most of the subtitles are full of lies. Understanding everything takes years, knowing that many things are off only takes a month of studying.
That the only threads about inaccurate subtitles here are about dumb shit like

I clearly heard the word “loli” in the lines but the subtitles said “little girl”; this is muh localization

And not other shit like that the aspect of the line is completely wrong, and that random things are just left out or added for no reason really shows that most people here just don't know even the faintest bit of Japanese.

So how good is your Japanese, because in my experience when people say they picked up “some Japanese from anime” they only know a couple of words which are usually the words people discuss in English outside of it.

Like how everyone knows “漢字” but not the homophone “感じ” the former almost never occurs of course in speech but the latter is like an integral part of the language and one of the most common words and correct usage of it is essential to phrase natural sounding sentences in Japanese.

Are you claiming to be one of those people? Because honestly I find it a bit hard to believe that you can learn that way without any active studying whatsoever. But that's beside the point, we're talking about dubs vs subs, the average subs viewer is not this hypothetical person you're describing, but someone who actually relies on subs. The person you're describing wouldn't use subs at all if they didn't need them. The average subs viewer's experience is closer to a dub viewer's experience because it's filtered through a different language. I don't think that's a controversial statement.

i use dubs half the time, when i'm too inebriated to read

IMG_8448.jpg - 357x479, 38.55K

Majority of zoomzooms are illiterates that can't read fast enough to keep up so they cope by watching dubs

Dubs are for normies, subs are for hardcore anime nerds like Anon Babble nerds.
If you post on Anon Babble I expect you to be a hardcore nerd. If I want to recommend something to a normie, I'll try to recommend something that has a dub.

normies

literally not my problem

Watch it in klingon!

There are so many people within Japanese language learning who claim they've learned Japanese by “just watching anime". they honestly fall into two camps

They only know a few words

They did flashcards, looked up words and grammar in dictionaries and also took some classes of Japanese in university but still claim they “just watched anime” because it sounds cooler.

This is really oddly common behavior to the point that there are many articles and videos even made about this weird habit within Japanese language learning of making this false claim.

Like MattvsJapan also claims that he did that, while he moved to Japan and earlier videos say he spent 8 hours per day on flashcards at some point for months but then suddenly he starts saying he learned it “just by watching anime”, what the fuck.

The average subs viewer's experience is closer to a dub viewer's experience because it's filtered through a different language. I don't think that's a controversial statement.

filtered through a different language

Yeah, and just because all the translations are utterly fake with half of it made up, half of it omitted and bunch of fake “Japanese culture” injected for good measure. These translations are insanely liberal while acting like they're “muh faithful” because they keep a bunch of honorifics untranslated.

Are dubfags actually retarded?

Yes

How are they unable to read text on screens?

Sometimes but usually

Are they that lazy?

Yes

Are they brain dead?

Sometimes yeah

I hate them. I hate them so much. I can’t wait for Trump’s tariffs on non-American media to put the dub and shitty localizers industry out of existence.

Me to if nothing else because Crunchyroll and Funimation are massive niggerfaggots

Fuck dubfags, fuck hood weebs, fuck tourists, and fuck woke SJW troons ruining anime

Here here

making your own flashcards out of anime is a common thing for those fucks but also actual babby anime is a lot more considerate on the language.

on the other hand actual japanese language classes (especially the "conversational" stuff) tend to be a bunch of made up bullshit too. They dont even bother with real literal translation.

Watching this place unironically be full of dub fags really shows you just how overrun with latinx turds this site is

anti honorifics out of nowhere

nyaa grifter "fansubber" lol

I truly want them dead
No one here is anti-honorifics

for me it is senpai/kohai cope

I am.
Most translators who leave them untranslated couldn't even naturally use them in Japanese to begin with nor produce a single natural sounding Japanese sentence of considerable length. They just leave random meme words untranslated they recognize.

It's blatantly obvious from how they translate that they really do not appreciate the tone and feel of Japanese sentences much at all and people who think muh honorifics are so important while most translations completely neglect actually important things that mark social context like honorific speech are so full of it.

That's just innit

can someone translate this for me please?

Nyooo
*Translators note: that means no
