Hollow mask isn't a free power up, it takes a toll on the user, so Visored only use them as a last resort.

Yes, they use the masks in their "cool moment" against the Menos in FKT battle, but it was also to get rid of them ASAP because there were a fuckton of them summoned by Wonderweiss.

Also, the more power they need, the less time the masks last, and they get exhausted after use, so it's not the best power up for a presumably hard fight.

Hirako doesn't use it against Aizen either, and Aizen was the person Shinji would most likely want to absolutely destroy

Only Ichigo, by means of being the protag, can actually spam it, and he doesn't use it again until Horn of Salvation (and it's not actually the mask there)

Bleach works like that, people only use their most powerful attack/form/whatever when they're cornered. Otherwise, all captains would go insta-Bankai the moment the battle starts.

Fuck, they even made it into a mechanic in the last game, you can only "Awaken" if you got your shit pulled in for a while.

Does it make sense? It works both ways. You could try to end the battle quickly by using your Bankai at the start, or maybe you can "save yourself the problem" by using your base skills + Shikai, which could be enough, and then use the Bankai if shit gets real.

You don't unleash the nukes at the start of a war, you hope you don't need to get to that point actually.

Even if you take out the ones that can die normally, the core 5 would have bodied Gotei 13 on their own the same way they took out Squad Zero.

Toshiro is also trigger happy with his bankai the same goes for Mayuri, Soi Fon, Byakuya and Kommamura

Noticed how those Bankai are unbreakable. You don't permanently nerf yourself like Ikkaku if your opponent is strong enough to damage your Bankai.

That's the biggest problem with this arc and it boils down to Quincy having the most bullshit and overcomplicated power. Kubo could have set up the arc with a big false flag invasion of Hollows in the human world and the Quincies would be the “heroes” but the Soul Society and the Hollow survivors don't eat up that bullshit. This arc would also bring more Fullbringers to the forefront. Anyway, although I think this arc was underrated, despite the pacing problems. Making the story in that “make-believe” world is annoying and I hate it when writers do that. It actually makes the lore kind of cheap.

They have their own Kido like spells as demonstrated by Uryu a long time ago and by Ywach yet none of them us it
They have that special quincy shadow ability that Zangetsu used and that they used to invade and don't use again afterwards
They had the ability to seal bankai only use it once, through at least the plot made the excuse that thanks to Urahara drugs they can't use those anymore
They have the slavkiveil move that the anime is making them use more but they always use it to buff and heal themselves rather than try to take in the reishi bodies of the shinigami they're fighting
Volstandig is their bankai yet few rely on it even fewer have names for them including Uryu whose also missing a halo like the others
Schrifts are their main form of combat they rely heavily on them discarding their other abilities to do so
Blut vien and blut arven to enhance their attack and defense

That's alot compared to arrancar who rely on their ressurection's abilities, hiero and cero, fullbringers who rely on their fullbring and shinigami who rely on their kido, shikai, bankai and shunko to fight.

The volstandig and shrifts really carried the quincy hard and they still lost and now with Ywach dead the remaining quincy lose their volstandig and their schrifts are very depowered

The Schrifts and Volstandig are not natural powers, they're bestowed by Yhwach in order to make himself stronger. Basically they're latent powers that are brought out so Yhwach can absorb them when those Quincies die.

The natural Quincy abilities are the ones that were used by Soken Ishida and taught to Uryu.

The Wanderreich is not made of Quincy prodigies like Soken or Uryu, they're mostly canon fodder and then you have the Sternritters with are "enhanced soldiers". They are a made-up army to conquer Soul Society, in a way, they're not "real" Quincies save some expections.

So in a way, yes, they have a lot of shit, but in the same way Tosen is a Shinigami with his Shikai and Bankai, then has a Visored mask and then a Resurrección. It's because someone (Aizen in this case) gave it to him, it's not a natural occurrence.

If you actually care about the Vizards, you should already be used to their shoddy treatment by the author.

Because Japanese Mangaka have this stupidly weird trend where once they get tired of, or even spiteful of, a character they themselves created they put them through humiliation rituals just because.
We see this with Tien, Vegeta, Rock Lee, Chad, The Vizards, and I'm sure we can list dozens of other examples but you get the point.

I always wondered why she got so emotional regarding his words, since he does openly tell her he doesn't understand her conviction, after all. As if she felt betrayed or hurt by his statements, since we never see her react with that much intensity ever again. It does make sense in a way, as a prelude to why she told Ulquiorra that she wasn't afraid of him.

As I got older I gotta admit I kinda stopped giving a shit about Kubo's inconsistencies. I only get mildly disappointed that some characters didn't get used enough or to their full potentials, but ultimately I can't bring myself to dislike it with the same amount of vigor I once used to have.

We do see her clasp it, but it's more like a gesture of self-comfort. I wonder if Kubo forgot about Hierro's mechanics (Yoruichi injuring herself when attacking Yammy) and just wanted the slap to happen for narrative reasons.

She's just mad. Don't look too much into it. Considering Ulquiorra never mattered to her beyond their self-contained interactions during her captivity, I doubt Kubo wanted to give that kind of vibe. Except for trolling the fangirls who really did ship them.

Really, I'm more bothered how Orihime flip flops so much in this arc. She doesn't get mad at him when she learns he killed Ichigo, but losses her shit when he does it a second time in front of her. Or how she refuses to stand up to Loly and Menoly bullying her, twice, when she had no issue doing so with Ulquiorra and later with Grimmjow.

I actually vibe with on this. I still talk about all the bad writing in Bleach often, but I've mostly moved on, and just mostly accepted it. The good definitely outweighs the bad. I still like call out retarded fans who just eat up shit like the Vizards not using their masks in TYBW or the Zero Espada reveal.
