What does he even do anymore?
What does he even do anymore?
Does Baki Domoe count?
He's currently coping about his dad being gay
trains
Same as ever, training and fighting but now without the shadow of his father looming over
passionate gay sex with hanayama
he grapples
Waiting for a stronger opponent to fight
Why doesn't he just fight his dad again.
wasn't a new rahen chapter supposed to drop last month or did i miss it
WHERE THE FUCK DID LAST WEEK'S CHAPTER GO
Fight an new enemy that seeks revenge about Yujiro having killed his mother and raped his father.
Delayed, I thought it might be coming out today but I guess not??? Hope Itagaki didn't bite the bullet.
it should be out today, there was definitely a chapter this week
god I wish that were me
Is it an unpopular opinion to say his fights are the least interesting of all the main characters
no, you can only loldidn'thurt so many times until the fans get bored
the last fight of his i thought was really good was against oliva and nothing really since then
musashi
his fight against not-enho was neat
Disagree complete.
He has a lot of neat fights
He has a few but he has a lot of stinkers
CHAPTER'S UP
His story pretty much ended with the big fight with Yujiro, he's just chilling and training now
I still think the series will end with him and Kozue (remember her? Where the fuck did she go lol) having a kid
I don't know. A happy slice of life ending would feel out of place. You'd lose me the moment Yujiro enters that slice of heaven, and he's clearly not dying anytime soon
He just is and he is strong.
literally nothing
zzzzzzzzzzzz
oh no, he's still very much in yujiro's shadow
its just Jack's turn right now, that's all
He means that Yujiro doesn't hang over him like a dark cloud anymore after the father-son quarrel
I guess not as much as before, but he still sees him as the pinnacle, and just like every other fighter he still measures himself (and even the new strong guys of each arc) against Yujiro
maybe the father-son fight ended with baki "winning" but he and everyone watching never really accepted him as the true winner, since that fight was....too unorthodox
Yujiro is the strongest. It's just that Baki isn't too troubled by him anymore. The two sit down, hang out and shoot the shit about Musashi and stuff
Half of Baki's fights is just him losing till he decides it's around that time to start winning
true
it's easy to forget there was a time when Baki actually wanted to kill him
that's every baki fight that isn't an outright stomp
didn't end with Jack getting punched in the mouth again
Sad
3 times would've been just too much
although I get the feeling this "fight" is just going to be a cycle of Jack trying to bite, only to get punched, over and over again until he says some shit like
heh, I guess that "purity" of yours....is STRONG
then they just stop fighting or something because it's not going anywhere
que a long narration box about unstoppable forces, immovable objects, and the MAJESTY of the JAWBONE
I think of it both in terms of "third time's the charm" and the rule of three in comedy. Granted, that's me coming at it from the angle of this "fight" already being hilarious slapstick material.
well, Baki is inherently a comedy manga, I have always believed that
I think Itagaki is just faking us out and next chapter will START with another punch in the mouth
Ah, a Baki thread. Not sure if it's been discussed to death before, but what is everybody's opinion on part 2? I'm probably not the only one that thought it was a bit like a fever dream.
The prisoner arc was not bad, but felt a little too random. I'd say "it felt like a bunch of excuses to string some fights together", but that's perhaps the premise of the whole manga, in a way. However, this feeling was certainly amplified with the whole setup of contestants randomly running into each other. But even how some of the fights were handled felt strange. Like Yanagi: At the end, Shibukawa is on his way to meet him, but then Motobe who hasn't done shit in forever at this point suddenly shows up and kicks him in the shins before Yujiro finishes him off. What the fuck?
Not entirely sure what Oliva's purpose was, as he doesn't really seem to do much in the end, but he's a cool character and at least gets brought up later again.
I also would've liked at least a chapter or two with Tokugawa and everyone else drinking tea and saying "yep, that sure was something" to have a bit more of a conclusion.
And then there's the Sea King tournament which was kind of alright, but what the heck was that Ali Jr. arc about?
Also, I haven' started part 5 yet, but a sumo wrestler as a challenger doesn't sound like a promising prospect. Please tell me I'm wrong.
the virgin 4000 years of chinese martial arts
the chad FOUR HUNDRED THIRTY MILLION YEARS of jaw development
Sea King tournament arc
Katsumi would beat the shit out of Jack for 90% of their fight, then lose at the end with everyone continuing to fellate how awesome his karate is.
the sumo arc is....pretty weak compared to what came before, yeah
God I miss Retsu. We could have a whole chapter about ancient chinese jaw unhinging snake techniques or about building up tooth enamel by eating rocks until your teeth are stronger than titanium.
so you think chinese martial arts is inexperienced with biting?
have you heard of Tiger Style Kung Fu?
takes pose, hands and feet turn into tigers
tears apart wooden dummy
your biting technique is amatuerish and immature!
Prisoner Arc
Yea it was just an excuse to get a bunch of people to fight each other. There's a message in this arc but the real meat and potatoes was to get guys like Jack, Motobe and Gaia, people who weren't formally involved in the plan to get their licks in before dicking off again
Not entirely sure what Oliva's purpose was, as he doesn't really seem to do much in the end, but he's a cool character and at least gets brought up later again.
He was introduced because Itagaki likes Sergio Oliva and because he was probably already planning for his fight with Baki later after being considered the second strongest guy in the World
what the heck was that Ali Jr. arc about?
What would a normal fighters day-to-day life be like if he tried moving into the underground world of fighting. Also don't talk shit if you're not actually willing to die
Also, I haven' started part 5 yet, but a sumo wrestler as a challenger doesn't sound like a promising prospect. Please tell me I'm wrong
Some people try to go easy on it because the release of each chapter is horrendous but it is actually pretty bad as far as Baki standards are
Katsumi and Jack already fought in that Usogui spinoff one-shot thing
remember her? Where the fuck did she go lol
Itagaki decided liking woman is gay and decided to go full on gay sex = peak masculinity. I wish this was a shitpost, but considering everything it happened post-yujirape I unironically think that's what's on his mind.
cue in the rest of kizaki's monologue where he explains the current jaw is indeed the pinnacle of human evolution...
... in the sense that it grew way weaker to accommodate more important things like speech and brain space
Yeah, what about it? If it's about the name, I gathered that one should avoid Wild Fang Project's translation, and the other one I found called it that. Confused me for sure.
I see. Guess I would've gone in with tempered expectations, either way, but that's a bit of a bummer. At least it isn't 300+ chapters again.
break next week
Goudou is lame, can Haneyama remember that he has superhuman grip and rip Jack's jaw off please
They admitted defeat at the same time and came to a pleasant understanding. The worst effect the fight had was bringing Yuujiro into the public eye and making him a celebrity
to be fair...
the miso soup....
....it really WAS too salty!
The JAW...is STRONG
how is Paru's dog sex manga going
Is Goudou gonna be the new Standing Man where it's always given a chapter exposition despite everyone being firmly familiar with what it is at this point?
