Toonami had all the best animes

animes

So does anyone have an idea of what this could possibly be?

Is Big O actually good? The girl looks hot but that’s all I know about it

It's kino

its kino but only S1 is actually amazing. S2 cheaped out a bunch on animation and they didn't write an ending. Still good but the first season episodes are pure perfection.

1st season yes, 2nd is more of an acquired taste.

It's pretty good. It gets a little mind screwy in season 2, which is divisive, but I liked it.

What's the worse anime that adult swim aired and why was it Moribito

I know I could've said Pilot Candidate but I never watched a single episode past the first episode and I know the only reason they aired it was because they couldn't afford much.

troonami

You westerners sure love bringing up troon cock out of nowhere

been a while so i'm sure it has been surpassed. super milk chan?

Big O is fantastic as an aesthetic experience entirely unrelated to its own plot, which is also quite good.

Please let it be a season 3

It will be some mid-range merchandise, and a Japan-only mini event in 7-11s throughout the nation. You will get one of eight little Dorothy collectibles with each purchase of Pocari Sweat.
The S2 ending was definitive, and no good can come of resurrecting a fan favourite classic in Current Year +10.

This show desperately needed another season to let its plot Iines breathe.

it only had 1.1 seasons worth of writing. s2 plots were all s1 plots just rehashed til the finale.

It would be nice to get a new wave of merch in the current day and age, the old stuff is hard to find and getting expensive.

I didn't consider that. I know there was a whole debacle about the dub. If I remember right, there were two dubs made, one specifically made for American audiences, and Adult Swim for some reason chose to air the version that had jokes/references that were extremely niche and only Japanese people would get.

I can't stop thinking about girlcock

15 years ago this would have been fine but it's been way too long now and sunrise isn't the same studio they once were. CG animation is the norm now for mecha anime and it's generally depressing knowing we'll never get sakuga as good as this from sunrise ever again.

Certainly wouldn't say no to some Big O knick knacks for my shelf.

cant believe 1999 was 40 years ago

sunrise isn't the same studio they once were

A bunch of their staff set up and moved to Bones, and we all know how that turned out.
I wish they'd collaborate on a mecha show considering their history, but both have probably changed so much over the past few decades that a collaboration still wouldn't reach their former glory.

I personally really hope not. I think it ended very well. However, I'm aware I may be in the minority on that opinion.
If there was new animation, then I think best case would be a semi-canon movie that takes place during Season 1 and 2, like a very episode we never saw before (kind of like the Dragon Ball movies). I really don't want a remake/reboot/continuation personally.
Really hoping for more Moderoid kits, especially of Big Duo and Big Fau.

i love dorothy wayneright!

Too much money to hire decent animators, prease understandu.

Are there any left to hire? Didn't a bunch of veterans just up and leave the industry years ago?

your animes, your mangos

Yes. Anime is still an English word even if it's a back-loan. One anime, two animes.

Anyone with talent got bought up by other studios and wasted on your average slop of the month.

animes

well they sure don't now. lazarus fucking sucks

if you're 12

IGPX was a fluke and deluded [as] into thinking they were part of the anime industry and could produce more hits. Turns out that's not how it works and everyone caught on to their retardation quickly, I can't wait until this fad dies out of americans thinking they can make "anime". Stick to your dying capeslop and fuck off.

Moderoid seems to be either still reprinting kits for big O or the stores in japan have them shelf warming and are desperate to get rid of them because I keep seeing ads for them getting stocked from JP stores online.

I saw listings for it recently pop up with "(Rerelease)" in the title, so I assume it is a reprint (probably for the 25th anniv.). I also heard the series wasn't as popular in Japan as it was internationally, so maybe it really was shelf warming.

understandable but please try to stick to anime discussion next time
